Manny Pacquiao Accepts May 5th Date, Arum Yet to Respond to Official Statement

Floyd calls out Manny through twitter, calling him a punk and challenged him to a May 5th date. Arum responds and states fight will not take place on May 5th. Michael Knocz, advisor to Manny Pacquiao, states that it doesn’t make economic sense to have the fight on the May 5th because the fight will draw more revenue if it took place in an outdoor stadium. What does Pacquiao say about this? Last night on Pacquiao’s official website we received an official statement from Manny Pacquiao himself on Floyd’s proposed May 5th date. It states: Manny Pacquiao agrees to fight May 5th. “To all of my fans…Mayweather just needs to agree to and accept a 50 percent split, and if he does, then the fight will go through. He’s the one who needs to agree,” “He’s the one who has to say yes. The reason is because he talks to a lot of people. He has a lot of representatives. If he takes the fight, he can make $50-to-60 million. That’s how much he can make.” “I want to fight him. This is the fight the world wants. Mayweather wants a guaranteed purse, so what he has to do is get a promoter who can give him the guarantee,” said Pacquiao. “I don’t have problems getting a guarantee because I have a promoter who will give me my guaranteed purse. If he gets a guarantee, then we are going to share the revenue on a 50-50 basis.”1 This statement is interesting because it seems to go counter to what his promoter and advisors are telling the public. Perhaps Pacquiao is listening to his fans and is willing to give them what they want. Maybe there’s some dissent amongst Pacquiao’s camp. However, now that an official statement has been posted on Pacquiao’s official website, it appears that the ball is back in Mayweather’s court, and Bob Arum’s. There used to be a point where I would kill to see this fight and was willing to spend whatever I had to get the tickets and make the trip to Vegas. Now I am at the point where I could see myself not even caring enough to order the PPV. It's been too much b.s back and fourth the past few years and my interest in the fight has dwindled substantially. Anybody else feel this way? yes sir, how bout that rigo vs ramos fight coming up, or ortiz vs berto..... should be fun FIGHTS that actually will materialize.

He’s the one who needs to agree,” this quote alone should suggest that pacquiao will fight on may 5th because he says that all mayweather has to do is agree to 50% split and the fight will happen. If pac still wanted to fight in late may he would have also requested floyd agree to fight in late may, but he didn't. so the only obstacle is agreeing to 50% split. Manny said this the other day. Arum is the ONLY one holding this up. Pac and Roach want this....Floyd wants this.....Arum is looking like a bigger d bag by the day. At the same time.....you have to get on Pac. He needs to just give him the big middle finger and tell Bob that he wants Floyd and if he dont like it he can suck it. So in a sense, its on Pac to once and for all stand up and call the shots to Bob. No one is scared of no one, and anyone who thinks so is a moron and a d rider.

honestly, i still don't think Arum will let it happen. It's unfortunate, but it's probably the truth. hope i'm wrong though. i got quite a bit of money on Floyd if it ever happens!

I'm confused here...........I thought Pac was ok in getting a smaller share and not 50-50? Probly talking about 50-50 split of the revenues. Not the purse. He does say he doesn't care about the purse because his promoter already guarantees it to him.

Manny Pacquiao need not concern himself with who's representing Floyd. He need not talk about his guarantee. He need not try to make it seem as if Floyd has to agree. Everything has been agreed to before so what makes Manny think we have to bite his bs? He needs to worry about what he's going to be facing if he does actually have the heart in there. He needs to prepare his face to get punched in. He needs to prepare himself by pouring small cups of water over his head to simulate the feeling of blood streaming down his face. He's scared of cuts. Floyd will make him bleed. When was the last time floyd made an opponent bleed???? Ortiz? No Mosley? Nope Marquez? Nope. Hatton was the last one floyd cut and that was in 2009.

Wish this was being.reported on ESPN or yahoo sports.... Thats the thing if it was there then it could be seen as legit but its not even a bscene article about it and its been a while since this was put up.I wont read into at all until some serious websites start backing this statment
