the 9th round was close I Could see how people would give it to Manny but how can Duane Ford score it 115-112 for Pacquiao? is there a way to find the round by round score for the judges
and why's that?
IMHO the fans will be the winner here if this proves to be simialr to the first two fights, not to mention PAC-Floyd could probably be happening soon as I am sure both PAC & floyd are near their full retirement...
Since JMM is nearing 40, and is having to move up two divisions, where he is slow. This fight will be one-sided IMO, exciting as long as it lasts though.
Honestly, I don't give a toss about Mayweather. He can go jump for all I care. I just love the criticism that gets tossed around about him fighting Marquez, but Pac's now doing the same against an older version and it's all kosher. Whatever though....
We know Marquez has Pac's number, but it's a prime version of Marquez that has Pac's number not a 40 year old, slow, way past his peak version.
This fight isn't going to show that Marquez has Pac's number. We already knew he did and always would, if it was a prime version of him fighting rather than an old, slow, fat version moving up two divisions. If 24 brutal rounds over two fights years apart with both in their peak, prime years with neither fight being able to separate them at all doesn't tell you they were perfect foils for each other and that Marquez had Pac's number and Pac his, then a fat, slow, old version years past his best isn't going to tell ****! No matter what happens!
Maybe you've ignored the last two fights but they are the ones to go to that will tell you about these two warriors, not this one. This one will only tell us exactly what we already know. Pac is still great and still kicking ass as he always has while Marquez is too old, too small, too slow and gets hit too easily to compete with a still prime Pac. That's what you need to know about this fight.
This fight doesn't change a damn thing as to what would always happen in a fight between these two in their primes. Sadly, Pac as a younger fighter is still in his prime while Marquez is years gone from his. This fight will not tell us anything we don't already know.
Maybe you're the one who's ignoring the last 2 fights. They were both WARS. If you think JMM having Pac's number means going to war with him BEFORE his prime then I guess Pac is that damn good.
What Im saying is that Pac does not have an excuse to not beat JMM senseless since JMM is past his prime, and Pac supposedly got better since their last fight. If its another close one, then that means JMM got better, Pac stayed the same.
But obviously JMM didn't get better since he got older, and seeing how Pac dominated fighters that JMM can't even fight, we can only logically conclude that JMM just has Pac's number.
what has Pac done since the 2nd JMM fight? oh thats right, completely dominate fighters that JMM wouldn't even dream of fighting.
Pac JMM 3 is late but Pac was obviously getting too big for that weight class and went ahead and fried bigger fish after he surprised the world against DLH.
Having said that, if Pac does not finish Marquez or beats him by a landslide, then JMM indeed has his number, and he most likely won't be able to beat floyd, if floyd ever gets a pair.

yeah. Marquez really opened my eyes. I really thought Pac would crush him in the 1st fight. I was jumping up and down when Pac knocked JMM 3 times in the 1st round. I was telling my bros, uncles, and friends, "I told you".
Then Marquez dug his way out of that sh*thole. Amazing.
In the 2nd fight, i felt Pac underestimated JMM and I thought his progress from the Morales trilogy would be enough to KO JMM.
In the 3rd round, i felt like a genius because I predicted a PAC KO. then JMM fought back again. sh*t.
He is one tough mexican. I will not make a prediction in this fight again. I just expect another classic from both this guys.
While I desperately wish this would be true, the simple fact is that this time Marquez is just too old and slow now. In his prime they would always go to war and create amazing, memorable fights for the ages, but he's 40 years old, moving up two divisions again (and we saw how bad he looked last time and that was a years younger version) and has become increasingly easy to hit over the last four/five years and is currently easier to hit than ever before. Moving up two divisions will make that even worse, with slower reflexes, slower counter punching and slower defence.
Sadly, with the wars all catching up to him finally, and with Pac still being in his prime years and much younger than Marquez this will finally make for a bad fight for Marquez.
Pac hasn't slipped since their last two fights while Marquez is a very, very different fighter now than the guy that went to war all those years ago. He's just too old, slowed down too much, too easy to hit and is too small (I know some will say that he's the same size as Pac, but the fact is he's not. Marquez could still make 130 today easily, Pac can't at all. In fact he'd struggle to make 135 now and he's only just past 30 years old. Marquez was still making featherweight with ease then) all of which will be magnified by having to move up two divisions facing a guy who's still as good as he was last time they fought.
It's that simple. Pac is still as good as he ever was and hasn't dropped off at all since they last fought. Marquez is not. At all. He's not even really that close to being as good as he was then.
Getting very close to 40 and at the end of his career, Marquez is finally showing all the years and all the fights are catching up to him. He's been easier to hit, is much, much slower than he ever was as a 126/130 pound fighter and had dropped off in skill significantly with the increase in age since they last fought.
Although I sincerely hope for another great, epic war to end the trilogy, the fact is that the only reason Arum took this fight was because he knew full well there was not going to be any war at all. He saw Marquez's last fight and how far he had dropped off from his prime years. Any versions of Pac that Marquez fought would wipe out the guy that just fought Katsidis recently. Katsidis hit Marquez a lot and that punch that dropped him really hurt him. More than I can remember him being hurt in many years. If any of the Pac's that Marquez fought were landing that many punches that easily and Marquez was that slow to react it would be over. Now, instead of Katsidis and his easy to predict combinations, slow punches and lack of skill imagine Pac's offense, power, speed and size.....
Sadly, the old, years past his best version of Marquez is facing a still prime Pacquiao. It's not going to be another great war. It's going to be another case of an old, past it smaller fighter at the end of his career facing a younger, prime, bigger fighter and taking a bad beating. Touch wood that nothing bad happens because Marquez is one of the great modern boxing legends and warriors of the game and he's getting screwed over in this fight simply because they finally knew it would now be an easy fight for Pac, especially with him moving up two divisions just like he had to against Mayweather.
:nonono:
Yet Pac is fighting is fighting an even older, more past his prime version of Marquez who is also being made to move up two divisions years after Mayweather and it's ok? He's now slower, easier to hit and is also moving up two divisions, but it's all good.
Both Mayweather and Pac are fully fledged welterweights now. Marquez isn't and never will be, even being 40 years old and past it. Whatever criticism you give to Mayweather for fighting Marquez, you need to keep a semblance of being at least semi-unbiased and give an even greater amount of criticism to Pac for fighting an even older version of the same guy that Mayweather dominated years ago and also making him move up two divisions.
If you criticise Mayweather, surely you see how much worse it is that Pac is doing the exact same thing but against an even older version?
what has Pac done since the 2nd JMM fight? oh thats right, completely dominate fighters that JMM wouldn't even dream of fighting.

well look no further
because the answer to your question is marquez was past prime and bloated vs the bigger, taller mayweather
as oppossed to prime and in perfect condition vs the shorter pacquiao
Yet Pac is fighting is fighting an even older, more past his prime version of Marquez who is also being made to move up two divisions years after Mayweather and it's ok? He's now slower, easier to hit and is also moving up two divisions, but it's all good.

I have the very same sentiment regarding Marquez bro, I wont make the same mistake...
first two fight will forever be argued from the first fight the fighters, the judges, the fans dont agree on sh_t and only agree on one thing both are great fights worthy of their nomination as FOTY...

yeah i watched the 2nd fight 2 nights back. it was much better than the first fight.
amazing fight indeed. I expected Pac to run over Marquez in the 2nd fight but Marquez stood his ground. This is the reason why im pumped up for the 3rd one.
I will never underestimate Marquez again. He is to Pacquiao what Balboa is to Apollo Creed. :)

JMM became the aggressor of that fight, not taking anything from Floyd he used his advantages to the hilt and did not go out of the game plan as the counterpuncher...
JMM vs PAC would be similar to their first two fights, if Manny's does not finish Marquez off it will be another close contest...
Which would be hilarious!
In 2 fights vs Juan Manuel Marquez, Manny Pacquiao landed a total of 148 punches in the first fight while throwing 639 punches.
In their 2nd fight Pacman threw 619 punches and only landed 157 punches.
Floyd Mayweather threw 493 punches and landed 290!. Mayweather almost landed double the amount of shots on Marquez in one fight than Pac did in 24 rounds.
The GAP in skill level is clearly apparent
Notice the superb technician JMM....
Notice how Marquez looks like a novice...
Manny Pacquiao in 2 fights and a total of 24 rounds threw 1258 punches. He ONLY landed 305 punches in 24 rounds.
Mayweather landed 290 punches in (1 fight) ONLY 15 less than Manny( in 2 fights) & he threw 765 less punches.
the thread is not about floyd idiot. red K sent

You cant score for shiet!
I think it was more because JMM vs Floyd was a
counterpuncher vs. counterpuncher
and someone had to fight a way that they weren't accustomed to.
JMM became the aggressor of that fight, not taking anything from Floyd he used his advantages to the hilt and did not go out of the game plan as the counterpuncher...

the fight is irrelavent at this weight in my opinion
should of been made at lower weights so mad honestly -_-
ima marquez their in the hurt business i dont wanna see marquez get ktfo
You can thank floyd and oscar for that. Pac was supposed to unify against diaz to set up pac-marquez 3 years ago.
But floyd got scared at his daddy's announcement that he would train oscat for the rematch against him and retired. Leaving oscar to look for what looked like a very beatable pac at the time.
hurrrrr:bottle:
da fukkk?
Pac vs Marquez is a cherry pick. It's even worse then Floyd vs Marquez because we already saw what Marquez looks like at the weight, and we didn't like it. So stop crying like a hoe because I don't worship Mayweather like you...you nuthugging slut. da fukkk? hurrrr:bottle:
btw i'm rooting for Marquez you slut
I managed to piss you off again hurrr hurrrrr :bottle:
Mayweather fought Marquez at 144, which was FAR above JMM's best weight. Marquez was visibly bloated, and clearly did not belong above 135. Pacquiao fought him Marquez below 135 both times, which is more then two divisions below were Floyd fought him on.
The whole basis of your argument is flawed, yet good, as it shows others that you are a mere nuthugging troll who is bias, and merely has a hidden agenda.
this sold out mexican pirate ass nigguh on pacs nutts big time ..shame on you you traitor ...
what weight is your God pacquiao gonna fight jmm (yes the guy you should be supporting nigguh) next???
tell us you sold out mexican pirate??
and dont forget floyd had a 2 year lay off then came back and toyed with jmm (yes jmm the guy you should be supporting you sold out mexican hurr hurr)
Both fights are legendary, I should rewatch them before the third fight happens. I remember the second fight was very close though, I gave it to Marquez. This next one SHOULD be a blowout considering how older JMM is and the weight possibly affecting him. Pacquiao also has both hands as well as it seems more power, we will see what happens.
yeah man its a classic got me hyped for the 3rd fight now :boxing:
