I think Hopkins will have Dawson fighting in survival mode about 25% through the fight. Dawson can't defend against straight right hands, and Hopkins will have the ability to hurt him. Because Dawson's chin isn't that good. I really think this fight will be a white wash in Hopkins' favor.
Pascal beat Dawson, but you have to admit man, Dawson was just not there that night. Its like his mind was on something else. He finally snapped out of it very late and when he looked like he was actually trying he nearly stopped Pascal.
I think Dawson takes out this version of Hopkins. He's getting hit a lot more these days, due to age and his more aggressive fighting style.
I think Dawson is an over rated fighter and I expect Hopkins to control this fight. If Hopkins dictates the pace he will win easily.
Pascal>Dawson and Hopkins beat Pascal twice so logic says Hopkins. I'm not evening doubting it one bit, I think Hopkins wins easy.

I actually did. I thought Chad was more productive under Steward. No, not in punch output but more in the way I'll make my punches count. I thought he used better ring iq when he was moving in the ring and controlling ring generalship. I'm not sure what to expect with Chad going back to his old trainer. I expect more aggression and will probably get picked off for it. Hopkins might feast on him.
Triangle theories don't work in boxing. Besides Pascal isn't better than Dawson. Yeah, he beat him but it was in a razor thin fight where Chad started very late and nearly kayoed Pascal in the end. If they rematched Chad would cruise.
I haven't seen anything out of Dawson in his recent fights that says he's improved and for that matter that he's better than Pascal. It was not a razor thin fight by any means, Dawson was clearly getting beat by Pascal. I saw literally nothing in Dawson in his past to fights that says he would cruise to a victor in a rematch with Pascal either.
And as far as Steward, he switched trainers so I expect any gains he made to be gone. Yet again Chad is taking another setback by switching up trainers.
But styles make fights. Hopkins does well when he forces other fighters down to his pace. Since hes older he tends to just give away the first few rounds and mash the fighter out in the stretch. Against a big output fighter, he has problems keeping up. This is a much harder fight for Hopkins than Pascal.
He had no problem at all with Pavlik's style and output. I don't see anything out of Dawson that will give Hopkins a lot of trouble. As long as Hopkins controls the pace (which I think he will) he wins easy.

Chad is my boy and I've been picking him for years but things have changed. I liked Chad working with Manny and now that is gone it makes me start to retract that. Also, Chad hasn't gotten better over the years and BHOP has stayed good. Rooting for Chad but think BHOP is going to beat him. Excited for the PPV.
Did you see any real improvement of Dawson while he was under Steward?
Hopkins is slowing down, he got hit much more then he normaly does by Pascal even if Pascal lost. And Pascals punches were more effective then Calzaghe even if people had Calzaghe beating Hopkins. Calzaghe didn't have Hopkins on Queer-street like Pascal did. Tho, some ppl say Hopkins was hurt by a body shot by Calzaghe but Pascal hurt Hopkins to the head.
some people say calzaghe landed 220 punches as well................
Boxing wizard- Experience does play a big part. Roy Jones even in his prime was unconventional and did things disjointed but he got away with it. Old age and poor chin meant he couldnt be successful but its a different matter altogether with Hopkins who still has every trick in the book. Im not saying Hopkins is going to stop Dawson and even Bernard would admit that but we are going to see a huge gulf in class. Look how each man respectively dealt with Pascal. Dawson is a good fighter with skills and is a correct puncher. He also likes fighting at his own pace and if he tries to outhink Hopkins he will be 2nd best all night. Dawsons needs to use his advantages in youth and speed but he isnt the type of fighter to throw in volume. The fight will be at Hopkins pace and that will be Dawsons downfall.
Experience is the key in this one. Although on the face of it it appears to be a 50-50 fight, I favour Hopkins strongly. Styles make fights and I can see another Hopkins - Tarver type match up.
Pascal showed a little lateral movement with the occasional burst and it shut Dawson down. Chad is caught between styles and between trainers and Hopkins is the perfect guy to exploit any weaknesses mentally. Put youre money on Hopkins on points People!
It doesn't matter how much experience Hopkins has, it will not determine the outcome of the fight. Of course Hopkins is more experienced, but he's not in his prime anymore. His skills have declined over the years despite being more experienced, and Dawson is experienced himself. Dawson has been through the ups and downs, and trust me when I say this, it doesn't matter how much experience Hopkins has, he will not stop Dawson.
If experience was always a factor RJJ would be a top 10 LHW.
I want Hopkins to win, but I don't think that he will. The fact is B-Hop like to slow down fights & that's Dawson's comfort zone. But If B-Hop wins he's easily fighter of the year & simply making his case even greater as to why he's yet again the greatest active fighter.
I'm not jumping off the Dawson bandwagon here. I've thought he would win this fight for years. I'm not as confident anymore, but really he has no excuse if he loses this fight. Make or break time for Bad Chad.
