Doing an unsportsmanlike but legal thing isn't going to make me stop liking a fighter. I've seen much, much worse.
Mayweather's inactivity in the past 42 months and not giving us enough of the good fights we want, now that's a whole different story.
I'll always enjoy watching him in the ring, but simply put, he needs to fight Manny in 2012 or fu*k off.
Im still a floyd fan but only cause Im a huge boxing fan, just cause he took advatage of the #1 rule in boxing dont make me like him less, ppl are still gonna pay for his next fight regardless of what floyd did. Truthfully ppl are taking this whole sucker punch thing too far, they forget Ortiz headbutted Floyd first. Floyd told him if he makes a mistake he gonna to pay!!!! Well Ortiz made 2 (i.e. Headbutt, and not keeping his guard up at all times)
I never said jabs don't count.
And after Floyd "fight" with Ortiz Pacquiao has increased his accuracy edge over Mayweather, and Ortiz is very easy to hit. He even stand infront off you with his hands down.
You did. Don't lie. And LOL at Pacquiao having an "accuracy edge over Mayweather". Listen you don't have to like Floyd and that is fine. But don't up stuff to suit the fighter that you like. Especially on things like "accuracy". When it's apparent who is more accurate.
I'm not a big Floyd fan and never have been. But, I have always respected his boxing skills. His technical skills against Ortiz were masterful on Saturday night. And now with his new in your face style of fighting, I believe he would have KO'd Ortiz. He looked quicker, faster, and for some reason, bigger than Ortiz. The society we live in is just so ****ed up! Once a guy gets that "Bad Boy" image, it just sticks forever no matter what.Hate Floyd because of his childess demeanor at times. Or hate him for his boasting about his money and the flashy lifestyle. But to say he is a coward or a dirty fighter is blatantly wrong. Ortiz was trying to headbutt this man from the first bell on. The last headbutt was blatant and intentionally meant to hurt Floyd. So once Ortiz made it a dirty fight, then gets KO'd from what is suppose to be dirty actions,Floyd's the one that's wrong??? Put the shoe on the other foot. What if Floyd had headbutted Ortiz in the same manner and then got Ko'd in the same manner. These ignorant haters would have applauded it and said that's what he deserves. This goes beyond boxing. This is just staight hatred for Floyd and no matter what this man does, these haters will have a problem with it.Floyd won the fight fair and square and once again proved he's the best fighter in the world whether you like it or not. And truth be told, everyone watching that fight can see that Floyd would destroy Manny Pacquiao with his new style of fighting. But you have to be a true fan and student of the sport to see that. Floyd is a disrespectful flamboyant *******! But what is real is real. The man could possibly be the best technical fighter ever!!!
****in post of the year right here.
To add something else, who knew Ortiz would go down like that? Especially considering Floyd is "feather fisted, has brittle hands, and was wearing Grant pillows, not the Reyes KO gloves"... Mosely took those shots like a champ.
I laugh at the Pac lovers, I say that cause lets be honest, Theres very few actual Floyd haters that I know of that arent haters because of their love of Pac. Who really knows though with all the alts running around trying to corrupt public opinion...
Are you serious? You want them to touch gloves every single round like Pac vs. Mosley? That **** just makes it even more bizarre.
Not getting tested, or refusing to, is hurting boxing too. Do you know how many people are questioning fighters now just because of Manny Pacquiao?
Because of Pacq?? where the hell you been fool?? Floyd and Daddy started all that mess!!! Mosley Jones and a handful of others were already caught having used PEDs.. Floyd was around back then!! its not like he just woke up and said OOoo wait a minute..anything after my 40th pro fight has to be tested!!!! Bottom line they were and still are afraid of Pacq. Even while pacq says He'll take the test just too get mayw in the ring.. Floyds gonna go on vacation. Uncle Roger says that Jr wont be fighting Pacq next. so on and on goes BS w/ team Mayw.. Mayw will wait to see what Pacq does to Marquez first before deciding his next move.. If Pacq demolishes Marq. expect Mayw to hide for 16mos at the least.. If Pacq struggles w Marq expect Mayw to want 60/40 drug testing and Cortez with 12oz gloves!!!lmbo

guys what does Pacquiao and testing got to do with this thread issue?
plain and simple its either your a floyd fan or not and if you have been a floyd fan he did nothing last night to make you go out of the bandwagon, that i understand...
This is the SAME guy that said Manny is more accurate than Floyd. Then said that jabs don't count. And YOU saying that someone isn't a "boxing fan". Please.

you may not have realized it but your post made you look so stupid. try and read the title of the thread and if you have at least a semblance of intelligence you will erase your post.

The fan boys that will defend Floyd action on Saturday are "Floyd fans" not boxing fans.
It was not a great advert for boxing, and no true boxing fan would defend something that harms boxing.

NO its like smacking the **** out of someone who clotheslines you while driving for a layup. Vic's foul was intentional, not an accident.
We agree about value because he was beating vic's ass. Between the headbutt(looked fake), post match interview (floyd staring at schaffer before responding), cortez "pretending" to look away, vic laughing and **** after the fight .This felt like GBP movie of the week.
Least your real about how you see it, can't fault you for that.
Yea, you're right about my analogy, let's be honest, I really just wanted to use that line

The dude just let himself down from start to finish, talking to his dad like he did, the cheap shot, why risk that? He was winning anyway, in different circumstances he could have risked a DQ. The way he talked to merchant was a disgrace, mayweather simply has no class! Yes merchant is overly critical but there is a way to deal with that situation with grace and wit, but mayweather has none, he is a spoilt little child nitwit.
He has done most of this himself by being a dislikable person but then does not take responsibility for his own actions, he blames everyone else. Inside the ring very impressive, and the answer to all his problems his doing it in the ring against pacquiao, if he beats pacquiao that will quiet everyone again, and as unfair as it seems winning that fight will gloss over all the cracks in his personality and the mistakes that he has made in his public and personal life will go into the background. The whole thing is reached boiling point, the pacquiao fight is actually hounding him, you can see the effect it has on him when he is around boxing, the situation as it is now, fair or not, floyd needs
this fight MORE than pacquiao.
What DQ? He didn't risk anything by knocking Ortiz out. While Ortiz' mind were somewhere else entirely, Floyd both heard and saw Cortez' signals to fight on. The fight was on. This is no Roy Jones Jr. vs Griffin (I) or Dirrell vs. Abraham. The fight was on.

I don't really blame him, he was pissed, Ortiz got dirty, I could understand the anger, however, that doesn't mean what he did wasn't cheap and IMO, knocking him out like that lessened the value of the win. It's like tripping a retard during a foot-race because he **** himself.

Ortiz foul = 1 point deduction...justice served.
Floyd's actions = 2 wrongs don't make a right and underhanded
Justice served. **** you! Vic cheated and failed. Floyd didn't and succeeded. Vic crossed line and floyd gave what he got. You'd have done the same thing.
You can't fault floyd for chosing how he wanted to deal with the intentional headbutt. When you cross the line there is no more line. Floyd retaliated within the rules. How can you fault that?

They never were in the first place
this is the right answer, floyd did not do anything outside his character to do...
although I agree that although legal it was unsportman cheapshot AND fault also goes to ortiz as when he was punch he did not do anything to protect himself...
for hater's add this to hate more on floyd lolz

Your right! your notta big fa a Floyd!! YOur a HUGE FLOYD fan!!! I despise MAYW and cant stand his ass.. BUT Ortiz shouldnt have been in the same ring w Mayw.. I didnt buy this fight cuz i didnt believe there was going to be a good fight!! Glad i didnt waste my money.. Regardless of the 4th, whick Ortiz was in the wrong. Mayw did NOTHING WRONG !!! Get over it.... He Woulda shut Ortiz Out anyways!!!! As far as the Above Statement!!! Complete Blind Floyd lovin BS!! Floyd WONT AND WOULDNT fight Pac Toe to Toe!!! He'll back Pedal and Pot shot all night.. Ortiz gave Mayw more grief than i figured he would, I see Pacs footspeed and handspeed and angles. Really putting Mayw at risk.. Floyd doesnt have the kinda power to slow Pacs assault down.. EVEN with Ortiz hands down to his sides at ease!! Mayw couldnt KO Ortiz, Yes it hurt him and he was counted out!! But when you hit a defensless man like you do the heavybag, and your on Mayws level.. It shoulda out him to sleep INSTANTLY!! bottom line... Mayw Doesnt fight Pacq, do to the Danger involved!! BUT WHAT FLOYD DID TO ORTIZ WAS PERFECTLY FINE. IT WAS ORTIZ FAULT FOR THE BUTT,THE POINT DEDUCT. THE NEED TO APOLOGIZE, AND HIS OWN FAULT FOR HIS LACK OF ALERTNESS!
