Did Saul Alvarez earn the 154 WBC Super Welterweight crown?

i like him... he is talented... but come on hatton wasnt even top ten 147 let alone 154... i do think he will prove that he is a champ though.

He can bring respect to the belt by defending it against top-notch opposition. That's the only way he can build credibility for this title "reign".

I dont really care, considering the fact that those belts are practically given away for anyone worth a dime. I can over look the whole thing, if Canelo and team decides to pit him against top contenders, or even rival champions.

I don't even consider him a champion, he is going to be real good though.

Oscar beat Mayorga, another guy from the Clottey/Juarez/Judah school of big fight losers. PBF beat Oscar, a game but PT fighter. Forrest beat Baldomir for a vacant title. Martinez had the title handed to him because Forrest died without granting him his mandatory shot. Pac beat Margarito for a vacant title. Alvarez beat Hatton for a vacant title. Well, Alvarez is not the best in the division. but, his win over Rhodes was legitimate and good, and he deserves the WBC strap that he has...those paper belts dont mean much anyway. fact is there is no 'real' champ in the division. The most accomplished at 154 is Carlos Molina.

Did he earn that belt? what you think. I like Canelo, but no, he is a paper champ. plain and simple. I'm not saying he didn't win, but he hasn't beaten anybody.
