On the surface, what's not to like about Manny Pacquiao? He's perhaps the best fighter in the world. He's a humble, respectful man of faith and congressman doing what he can to better his native country of the Philippines. He sings, acts and has a smile that lights up the room.
But behind the smile and soft spoken mannerism, does a darkside exists?
Many would categorize Floyd Mayweather as the exact opposite of Pacquiao. Floyd also stakes claim to the title of best in the world. He's percieved as an undefeated, arrogant, disrespectful fighter that never passes up the chance to brag on his money.
But what if behind the ego and cocky attitude, an honest and generous heart of gold exists?
Mayweather is a spokesperson, rallying against the use of PEDs in not just boxing but all sports. His campaign to "clean up" boxing should be admired and applauded yet because of his nature, mayweather doesn't recieve the accolade and praise he deserves.
We all know Mayweather's real agenda is to put pressure on Pacquiao but even so, is it not an honorable act to try and right a wrongdoing?
I love Pacquiao. I feel sorry for him because he's now engulfed in all kind of PED accusations. It's a situation where he's forced to play by Floyd's rules or the dark cloud of PED scandal will forever hang over his head.
But good guy or not, what's right is right. Cheating is wrong and unsportsman-like. And although it has never been proven that Pacquiao used PEDs, and i hope it never does, we have to consider the possibility that Manny, arguably the nicest guy in boxing, is the bad guy and mayweather, dare i say, is the good.
mayweather is dark skinned there is no way hes a good person on the inside... in reality everyone has a dark side some have money and some are broke but we all have one
case in point.
you tell me. if the shoe were on the other foot and it was pacquiao taking a stand against PEDs, pointing the finger at floyd, how much praise do you think manny would be recieving? answer that question truthfully and it will answer yours.
i can't comment much about the praises manny would be getting but i sure as hell would bet my fcking house that way more people would be crying racism and staging e-protests around the boards.
To be honest, neither of these guys are bad guys. Bob Arum is the bad guy. Bob Arum is trying to create a story with this fight. In order for tickets and ppvs to sell, there needs to be a bad guy and there needs to be a good guy. Bob will do whatever he can do make Floyd look like the bad guy and Manny look like the good guy. Hell, he even made something so menial like a random blood and urine testing into such a bad thing. Why is OST a bad thing? No matter how I look at it, it can only improve sports.
I mean, is Manny really that perfect? Is he? When someone appears to be that perfect, it means he has secrets. I'm not hating on Manny Pacquiao. I'm a fan of his as well as Floyds. But nobody is that perfect. Its just that Bob Arum has the ability to hide Manny's flaws and expose all of Floyds. When Floyd does something bad, its all over the media. When Manny cheats on Jinkee, hardly anyone knows about it.
I agree with the TS pretty much 100%.
Of course if Pac were the one calling for better testing this would all be the exact opposite. However, I doubt Floyd would duck the test, and I bet for damn sure he wouldnt take him to court for it. No one would claim Pac was using it to duck Floyd, they would of course say, "Pac had no idea Floyd would decline the tests, how could he use that to duck...". Its complete ****.
Top Rank does a very good job with their careful handling of Manny in regard to his public image.
"The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist."
they are both not bad guys...the only difference is that the media/fans make Pacquiao look like a god and Floyd like a coward and millions of people eating into that...but i guess this is only human...
REALLY GUYS?!
REALLY?!
Both are the best boxers in the wolrd right now and THEY CALL THE SHOTS.
theyre not young, unknown boxers anymore fighting ANYONE to get to the top.
Once you reach the top, you have MORE options INCLUDING taking 1 year vacations.
I say cleaning up the sport of boxing from PEDS is a FUKIN smokescreen from floydl. ITS BLANTANTLY OBVIOUS. He himself hasnt undergo real year round OST and he hasnt even requested the boxing comission to make year round OST mandatory!!!
Manny is presented with options, but his advisers, promoters pretty much uses him as a puppet.
IMOHO - Floyd is still the bad guy. While Manny is the nice guy. He's a hero in his country but to boxing fans here, he's the nice guy or a neutral guy. Neither good or bad.
Floyds rediculous charges outside of the boxing ring (ex: security guards, wifebeater etc etc) still pretty much makes him a bad guy still. I'm sry, but until he says "I hope Pac wins in his next fight so we can fight in the future" I dont think he'll ever get the good guy image.
I mean CMON.
HE LITERALLY WENT ON A RACIST RANT ONLINE
Pac would NEVER do that.

Preach.....

The title is very promising, but after reading your entire post it does not actually support much less elaborate its point.

Exactly, the cherry picking is going on all the time with all of these mainstream fighters. We desperately need a third party to keep this **** in check. a real sanctioning body that is enforced.
Mayweather consistently takes on the perceived most dangerous opponent, but he never gets credit. After Pac fights Marquez three years too late, it will have been two full years since his last legit fight. I have Pac ranked #4 pound-for-pound on my new list. Check it out at fightthirst.wordpress.com.
In my opinion both are bad guys. The difference is Floyd doesn't hide it & everyone knows he's bad.Pacman is the antichrist of boxing. The majority of fight fans think he's gods gift to boxing. When in reality he cherrypicks even more than Floyd does.

I think i will have to agree with u on this, fans have always hated cheaters we`ve seen our beloved athletes from all kinds of sports become the most hated coz of drug use, once suspicion that Bonds was using peds was out there, they crucified the guy without any proof whatsoever jus like manny yet manny is overly protected and supported, regardless of the agenda, seeking clean, fair play should always be supported, i can only imagine how much praise the congressman would be getting had he been the one advocating "fight against ped use" and gayweather was the one trying to run as far away from it as possible...wouldn`t that be something???
