OP must be slow. We are well aware of the ruling the ref made, that is the entire point he made a shitty ruling and his actions all during the fight showed extreme bias towards Usyk. Usyk was knocked out by a legal punch to the stomach.

I'll explain it again for the morons. A low blow is any punch that lands below the belly button on a fighter. The punch does not have to land on the testicals to be considered a low blow. How does one determine where a low blow is then when you can't see either fighters belly button in virtually every fight? The referee determines before every fight where the bellybutton is on each fighter in relation to his trunks, and then determines where a punch must land in order to be considered a low blow. In this fight the referee determined that anything landing on the trunks would be a low blow. Sometimes if the trunks are worn higher the referee will determine that punches below the belt line will be considered low. The referee said before the fight anything below the top of the trunks would be low. Khan's punch started below the belt line and continued up, landing square on the belt line, which is a low blow. Plain and simple no question, no debate, period Zab should have been given five minutes. Would he have won, no. Was he really hurt, probably not. It was a low blow either way. Just for the record, according to that definition, Zab also landed a low blow, and each fighter technically probably landed more than one on each other. bingo

No it wasnt a low blow. In boxing theres not many places to hit. The chin and stomach are basically the only way you can beat your oppponents. The belly button and even lower is the stomach. Zab should have developed his ab muscles just above the pubic area.

It was clearly a low blow, even though Zab completely overreacted and was just trying to find a way out of the fight. I dont know what the hell was up with him, its like he didnt even show up. I think people on this website are so programmed to expect things that they assume that the topic starter is discrediting Khan's win or making excuses for Judah. And that is obviously not the case. Either way, credit to Khan for a dominating performance, hes very obviously the best 140lber in the world, and that was a completely legitimate win although not really a legitimate KO.

This punch works for me... By the ref's definition, it landed a little low, and therefore, an illegal punch. The bad part is that in the heat of the moment, it is subjective against what the referee saw...this is the key element to this situation. As such, I don't believe the referee was in a position to see the punch as it landed well enough to determine exactly where the punch landed. Remember, he doesn't get the advantage of "bullet time" or a replay. He had to make a determination, and determined it was a legit shot. However, even if it was low, and even if it was considered legit due to the knockdown count....it is even more obvious how loud the count was towards Judah. I mean, the ref was counting right in his face and loud! You don't get an eight count for a low blow...ever! Not when the ref has determined the shot to be a low blow, anyway. The ref felt it was a legit shot and his final word is law. I'm okay with it this time because at normal speed it was difficult to see the first time I saw the punch land. It looked good to me then... LEt's not suddenly forget that the referee's decision is final. Additionally, I don't entertain any conspiracy theories as well. I don't believe Zab was looking for an 'out'. I also don't believe that he was conscious of the count against him. Although, he should have been. If he didn't know what was going on then shame on him...he had a mental lapse that cost him the fight. Oh well, so much for the experience paying off. Zab should have at least attempted to beat the loud count against him. THere is no excuse for that. He didn't even look up to the ref to complain about the shot. lmao if you watch the fight right before they touch gloves the ref says "this is low" with his hand at the very top of zabs belt line...5 rds later i guess that wasnt low enough

his trunks are always above his 2 bottom lower abs during the fight. EXACTLY, they weren't like that before the fight. The official rule is ANY PUNCH ABOVE THE BELLY BUTTON IS A LEGAL PUNCH.

I'm not sure I'd say a little low. I'd say low, but not on the testicals. Some people seem to think a low blow is a shot to the testicals, but a low blow is a shot below the waist, aka a shot below the belly button. One that lands below the belly button can hurt, but usually not more than one that lands on the testicals.

i agree with the TS but with that being said Zab shouldnt have tried to pull an acting stunt. he shouldnt have laid there when the ref was counting. if the ref was giving him time he wouldve called time. last but not least you dont get a standing count from the ground

Don't get me wrong, the kid was loosing, he was going to loose, he wasn't doing ****, he probably wasn't hurt, he was looking for a way out, or for an excuse. I don't even like Zab Judah. But at the end of the day the punch was a low blow.

The official rule is anything above the belly button is a LEGAL punch. We had no idea where Zab's belly button was because his trunks were too high. So it was the referee's job to decide whether it was a legal punch or not. He thought it was a legal punch and so did nearly everyone else. If you have a problem with it, contact the NSAC. If they felt there was a problem with the punch they would review it and if they agree, it'll be ruled a NC. Other than that, stop acting like a jackass.
