I just re-watched the fight and as early as the 3rd round, Manny was showing signs of his left leg bothering him.
This is after the Knockdown. Watch around the 50 second mark as he tries to catch up to Shane but can't as he isn't able to plant and pivot proper.
Here is another clip. If you pay attention to his left foot (as he isn't able to put alot of weight on it)
And when ever he tried, look how awkward he was trying to throw combinations.
Slow motion replay
Lastly, while I'm too lazy to post more videos, throughout the fight, if you pay attention to his back left foot, he was real hesitant to either bounce off of it, or try to put a whole lot of weight on it.
If you have followed Manny, he loves to spring off his back left foot to get power in his shots. This fight, I saw him actually trying to spring off his front right foot to get to Mosley.
I'm just hoping they can get this issue fixed as I would hate for this to be an ongoing problem.
Yeah your videos show nothing that would make me or any fan believe that he has leg cramps man...:smashfrea
All you can go by is their performance....
He wasnt moving great....and thats 1 of the assets pac is known for....you can see his corner working on his leg.....he wasnt getting as much power behind the rights as he can....
What would make you believe? A scan and video evidence ? lol
Anyway, people will know its true after the next pac fight....will be back to the fast moving, non stop pressure pac....
I don't understand why this is a big deal. He won, in an aggressive fashion. He came forward and never backed down. And I don't think him being sloppy contributed to the leg injury. Against Mosley wasn't the first Manny has thrown off balanced punches and looked a little lost and confused a few times. It is what it is. He took care of business.
Why should there be an excuse for something he couldn't do, Mosley ran for his life? I understand that you're a big time Pacquiao fan but c'mon. I'm actually surprised he doesn't have more injuries because he trains so damn hard.
I don't recall Manny complaining about his leg in between rounds...
I might be wrong but it's like he said "something wrong" on his corner. I think it's round 7-8 but I'm not really sure if that's what he meant.
I don't recall Manny complaining about his leg in between rounds...
Just in case I missed it, can somone put up a footage of him complaining to his corner?
On a side note, I saw Alex making Pac go through leg routines/warm up in the locker room.
I'm sure that Manny leg was giving him problems but that's not why he couldn't cut the ring off.
Shane gave him defensive angles and flicked the jab in his face. He couldn't get set. Had Mosley been in there to win maybe Pac knocks him out but we would have had a better fight. I can't say Mosley showed ring generalship just because he kept Pac off balance. I general controls the pace offensively and defensively.
Make not mistake about it...Pac did not look good in the fight and for any Mayweather fan,t saturday solidified their thoughts about what that fight would look like... Pac fanatics will cling to the leg issue, they will say Floyd is scared, they will claim that Mosley was just petrified and legit arguments can be made for each claim but they know one thing deep down, if he fights like he did on Saturday there is no way he's beating Floyd.
i think mosley didint give up his height and kept him at range, mosley didint trade on the inside and played it safe, pacquiao had this same problem with marquez, except marquez actually tried to win the fight.
leg problem or not, he had this same "leg problem" against cotto in the first round when he gave him movement.
i wont doubt he feels pain, but these issues were around beforehand.
So you're saying that Barrera, Morales and Marquez are flat footed?
Hey bro don't even pay any attention to those guys. They are here just to flame. I mean we have posted videos, show articles and they still want to flame....showing their blantant biased opinions against Manny. It's really no point in arguing with clowns and you end up feeling just as dumb as they are.
Also, it's possible that Pac got "knocked down" because he couldn't put as much weight on his left leg to counter-act Mosley's push.
Then look at how he gets up, using only his right leg, not using his left leg until he's already standing. (at 00:37)
hmmm, that's actually a good observation, I didn't notice it....he doesn't rely on the left leg to try to save his fall, and depends completely on the right leg to get up, coincidence? Maybe, but watching the fight (the middle rounds), you can tell he's dragging his left foot, rather than bouncing, and that's not that hard to notice (even flomos have eyes) I do think he had some leg problem, probably dehydrated (as in water), it' happens, nonetheless....
Not to mention manny throwing 500 total punches rather than his usual 1000. I agree his leg was bothering him, could have been the accident, over trained like ariza said or maybe pacquiao trying to catch the chicken (Mosley). But anyhow manny putting in 55% or work rate still dominates Mosley (shutout) if you ask me.
Ur taking the Top Rank talking points too far. The "accident" was the equivalent of a shopping cart hitting ur car. The security van tapped the car while sitting at a standstill in traffic. And if memory serves me correctly, everyone said this was his best camp....but now he overtrained. And no one can find anything that states Pac has had these problems in the past. Not one article that suggest it. These are excuses, bro. This guy struggles against movement. Deal with it. Leg cramps don't cause u to leap in off balance.
Not really. A quick trip to a specialist will fix that problem. I mean I had foot issues myself and after going to the right specialist, my problem was fixed in no time. I had to go through a period of rehab etc...but I haven't had issues since then.
so who got todd's coffee when you had rehab?
shine his shoes too.....*****
Thx for the videos. Injuries can happen to anyone, I hate it when people dismisses his performance and automatically think he's past it - injuries do happen guys lol.. from legs to hands. I think he did over train, he's still in his prime imo.
EDIT: Just read above Shane great ring generalship? What fight were you watching? Manny DICTATED the whole fight and not once did Shane have Manny backing up or on the ropes. He was running not using lateral movement and Manny set the pace not him. That's just ridiculous. Manny has problem with movers but Shane was simply running and rarely was countering - I think even sparring with Shawn Porter was tougher than that fight no joke.
idk.. i think its obvious his leg was bothering him somewhat but i alos think its obvious it wasnt alot. he did put weight on it several times even in the videos posted and he looked quick on his feet all night.
the reason he coudltn cut the ring of is shane showed great ring generalship and pacquiao never been a guy whos great at cuttig the ring of. i dont think the leg injury played a big role i the fight. pac always struggles when guys move side to side. ALWAYS. and like i said the leg clearly wasnt seriously injured.
LOL at these excuses when Manny looks ordinary. Just face it, he doesn't look against people who utilize movement. That's why he likes to fight flat footed fighters.
120-108 in score cards in a one sided victory plus a knockdowns here and there running for their dear life = Oh yeah Manny looks ordinary and doesn't look good against people who utilze movement like Cotto and Mosley right? Brilliant observation! Keep it up dude!
WTF? You dudes are terrible.
Was his leg cramping when he was sprinting towards Mosley?
F-ck a flomo or pactard. Anybody with sense will admit this is some straight up bullsh1t.
