Then fakes a jab to the body and throws a lefthook instead. Love that move.
yea, when he put corrales down with that shi t it was a thing of beauty.
i wish more of those highlights were against non ancient slow oscar or 9 years old. (or no d hatton)
it fun to watch floyds skills, just wish he fought more and tested himself more tbh.
i like how he tricks people with where he looks,he looks up at them as if he is going to punch them with a headshot, but slips the quick jab to the body while still looking at them as if hes hunting for a head shot.
i do like his timing and speed, but i do see possiblity of pac being able to time and counter this body jab with a right counter hook up top.
it is not a hard punch but it is just to keep you off balance. Also when he throw it, the reaction of the opponent is to slap it down, and there is his opening.
It is a pretty risky move, most guys who try that catch back worse than they give it is only a move true craftsman should use and like any craftsman knowing when to use the proper tool is important as having that tool.
Although once again with Floyd it depends on the opponent he can use it as a change of pace to keep the other guy off balance or if that is the route to victory he can exploit it like that also. Or he can not do it at all and make a guy prepare for something that didn't even occur
No it isn't. There's a reason Mosley never landed that shot again. Floyd adjusted to it immediately. Mosley tried it again and Jr. blocked low and rolled the right.
interesting. which is why DLH and Castillo both had success with it as well, eh?

Its also a risky punch...you are completely open to a counter right. Being off balance while throwing it makes it worse. If you remember, Judah barely threw a punch...he kinda just put his right hand out and Floyd ran right into it, which caused him to be knocked down.
floyd throw a right hand to the body not a jab

That jab to the body would one day get him into trouble against someone faster or someone with a ring intelligence, He was caught in the Judah fight because of that jab but he's very quick when he does it and he alway time it to perfection, but I reckon if he did that against someone who has quick handspeed then he would be in trouble.
The way i saw that fight was that in the early rounds, Judah tried to had Floyd tasted his own medicine by waiting and trying to timing his punches basically like a chess-match, and he caught Floyd perfectly coming in. Timing had more to do with it than speed IMO. Any Boxer with great timing and who's willing to be patient can catch him coming in, but he can be unpredictable with it.
excellent, sneaky weapon. he dominated Corrales with it.
risky punch though, since if you throw the right hand as hes jabbing to the body you can catch him. still hard to do however, its really fast and usually set up very well.
interestingly enough, I find that jabbing to his body and coming up with a right hand to the head is one of Floyd's biggest weaknesses as well.

It's his third best punch imo. Right hand pullback counter, lead left hook, and then the jab to the body. I wish this cunt would fight Pacquiao though. Whatever

If you know knew what you were talking about... it was a fake jab to straight right. There isn't anyone in boxing right now that can take away Floyd's jab to the body effectively.

His timing is on point with it, it's hard for a fighter to expect and react to it, which is why it's so effective. same thing with the lead right. time catches up to everyone, and he's been relying on his timing more then his overall handspeed lately.
