obviously jmm he has a better resume/3 weight division champion/been in a lot more notable fights/wins over Barrera,Katsidis,Diaz,Casamayor,Juarez and recently coming off a tko win over former interim champion michael katsidis along with also on his resume a draw with #1 p4p fighter Manny pacquiao and notable for two major fights with him.....
donaire is doing well in the p4p ranking and is coming of an impressive win over montiel but still has to have more notable victories in upcoming fights to be ranked higher then dinamita...end topic :boxing:
Career wise, Marquez has the infinitely superior resume. But P4P is more of a what have you done for me lately kind of rating. So I'd reluctantly give it to Donaire. I'd really love an argument for Marquez, though.
I agree it isnt close, JMM and others have been doing this for a while and his only loss lately is too Floyd. Donaire is over=rated right now. Donaire isnt even ahead of Bradley. Look at Bradley resume and his clearing of the 140 class. A few others above Donaire are as follows, both Klitscho brothers, Andre Ward, Bute, Hopkins and a few other whom I would give more credit for there accompjshment.
Marquez by a mile, hes fought HOF'ers throughout his career. If Nonito gets to 37 and is doing what Marquez is currently doing then it will have to be debated. If both fighters died tomorrow (horrible i know) and we looked at what each fighter has achieved..you'd be a f*cking fanboy to say Nonito was better.
so does that mean if the Roy Jones Jr of today and Nonito Donaire were the same weight and fought Roy Jones Jr would win?
JMM is still an elite fighter, other than that bs fight against Floyd when is the last time that he lost a fight decisively?
just like you guys are saying, since 2010,it could be argued that nonito has been putting up more impressive wins than marquez (if you compare last 3 or 4 fight results), so has martinez compared to pacman (in this case 3 fights, or starting since 2010). but then pactards like to complain and ***** that martinez hasnt fought anyone proven, or that a couple wins doesnt mean you can pass someone who has been putting impressive wins for years...same problem between donaire and marquez (recent wins vs overall career). but enough about pac/martinez talk, im just trying to use that as an example of how p4p talk can get messed up, but i agree with what you guys are saying, p4p should be ranked according to recent fights.
its obvious if we go career wise then its JMM
currently, Nonito should be ahead of JMM in p4p status
Agree. When anyone ever says PFP I assume "right here right now" not "total career accomplishments". If that's what he means than he needs to specify.
People need to be clear: Is your PFP ranking "all-time" or "right now"?
its obvious if we go career wise then its JMM
currently, Nonito should be ahead of JMM in p4p status
No he wouldn't, Donaire has never faced a fighter of JMM's caliber.
so does that mean if the Roy Jones Jr of today and Nonito Donaire were the same weight and fought Roy Jones Jr would win?
