He got lucky in the sense that he was fighting a guy who couldn't run fast enough to catch up to him. All he showed me that night is that for all his speed and (overrated) boxing skills, he still fights like an amateur and doesn't really defend against pressure so much as run away from it. Bradley's going to expose just how fragile he is.
I just saw the 10th round again, dude got saved by the bell IMO
Yeah man..oh, did you see the other 11 rounds?...If not did you at least catch the first round?
Saved by the bell?
Maidana had a full 2 minutes to knock him out. How the fuk was he saved by the bell?
Only person who was saved by the bell in that fight was Maidana in the 1st
He wasn't lucky, he proved me and lots of people wrong who though Maidana would KO him. The world class double Body punch basically won him the fight because it was so early and cleary took something out of EL Chino, could have been a different fight if that didn't happen.
He showed Heart and looked to have a slightly less chinny chin, i think the ref did help him a little though and if you watch that massive punch in the 10th round again you can see that the ropes kinda kept him up.
I really enjoyed the fight and would love a rematch in a year or 2, Khan would be favourite but i wouldn't Rule out Maidana.
That bomb in the 10th wasn't the only meaty shot Maidana landed, he landed one early in the 1st and they both exchanged rights in i think the 6th, i was surprised Amir stayed on his feet from that.
Maidana certainly gained a lot of respect from fans after his performance, me included. I'm not feeling this Morales fight though, he should of went after Kotelnik again, and exacted some revenge.
he should be happy he wasn't hit with that punch in the first rounds or it would have been a easy work for marcos
pretty much. and there's no denyin' that khan is more skilled and athletically gifted than maidana, marcos is there to be hit, man but, anyone with a lick of speed could "school" him or seem to rather easily, imo. also, can't deny how razor close that fight was. one judge would've had it a draw if it weren't for the point deduction. amir won it by a couple of points in a fight where he got busted up... bad. i mean besides the body shot, marcos came out of it like he just took a nap, despite the numbers khan was putting on him. i would definitely pay to see a rematch.
Yeh probably true but at the same time Marcos was pretty much schooled until he landed that big bomb so you could add that if he didn't land that single punch then it could have been a relatively comfortable night for Khan (considering all).
true that is, that big punch changed everything tbh

I don't think luck came in to it. Khan used his experience to get out of a very tricky couple of rounds. There was no luck in Khan shutting out the first 3/4 of the fight. He deserve the decision and Maidana deserved that it was judged close.
Khan is the balliest mofo ive seen in all the young fighters in boxing. That was heart, and he proved what he's been saying all along. The guy is no fluke. :boxing:

yeah he was lucky to barely survive. but if it was prescott in there khan would have been ktfo in the 1st round again.
boxing is a sport, people don' get lucky in a sport... athletes work their ass off to get positive results....
ask someone to punch you in the face and ask yourself if you get lucky...
