This is about as close to a sure thing as there is in boxing imo. Does anyone give Montiel anything more than a 10% chance to win this fight?
I pray for him.

vCash: 1000 Darchinyan VS Donaire, I smell an Upset...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I like Darchinyan, I like KO artist, I like fighters who fights anybody. I've seen a Bunch of Darchinyan fights. Even rate him top of the 112 & top 15 P4P.
I've seen only about 3 fights of Nonito in youtube. But I met the guy & his Brother Glen personally twice at a Party & we talk a lot about Boxing. He said he beat Jason Litzau in the Amateur. Also they thought that they we're robbed by the Judges when he fought Viloria in the Olympic trials. He is supposed to be lined up against Arce but Arce lost to mijares. That's why I'm not surprised when I heard he got This title shot.
Based on my observation Donaire is very skillfull, quick with his hands & feet, has some Power, full of confidence, very smart, in short he's the Filipino version of PBF. Personality wise this guy are way different than his Brother Glen who is the Shy or low key guy. Nonito, in the Parties that we've been in, is the light of the dancefloor. He dances all night long proves he has an endless stamina. Good dancer too means he has good Hand, eye & feet coordination.
The only question is... can he handle Vic's Power?? I ask his cornermen if he has a good chin, they say he was woobled once but recovered & KO the opponent shortly.
I've seen replay of the dachinyan-Pacheco fight, in this fight Pacheco was outboxing Vic, Then the fireworks interrupt the fight, Vic recovered & KOed Pacheco shortly. Pacheco is one of the tallest fighter Vic has fought.
The reason I smell upset is because Nonito is a Legit 5'6" & a half. he's quicker & he can move. Vic will have a hardtime finding him. Nonito has a lethal left hook & I see them landing everytime Vic tries to attack. I don't think Darchinyan can be KOed, but I see Donaire outboxing him in a lopsided fashion. Kinda like what Mijares did to ARce.
This is my original prediction on Donaire vs Darchinyan.
I think Montiel will have a better fight than Darchi but it will be the same ending. Donaire will KO Montiel.
Daym I was wrong!Darchi did better!!hehehe!!
I have Montiel winning the fight 60%/40%. Once Montiel begins to land body shots, Donaire is not going to look anywhere as dominant as he did against Sirodenko. Montiel is going to make Donaire think twice before throwing punches. Rafa Concepcion made him backpedal because Concepacion didn't respect Donaire's power, Montiel has an underrated chin and has world class stamina. Donaire has not face anyone near Montiel's level while Montiel is used to the pressure at facing the very best.
Look at what z-gorres did to montiel's face, when nonito is even technically better than z! If z didn't fooled around he could have escaped as victor..
Look at what johnny did to montiel when he moved up? He embarrassed fernando.
Look and compare nonito's height and frame to montiel, nonito is really practically bigger than him!
Nonito by tko on later rounds.
And if you think nonito is an overrated fighter for being a "big" bully, then we can have a v-cash bet. And 1 year self-ban from the scene.
Wanna bet?
I heard Donaire's walking weight is around 140. And he will move to 122 after this fight. Nonito is huge for this division. I don't think Montiel's punches will hurt him that much. Furthermore,he has height, reach and speed advantage. Too many factors in his favor for Montiel to overcome.
Donaire in 6.
I totally agree... Montiel is no joke... After donaire feels those shots from montiel then he will know that he,s in for either a knockout or a asswhooping on montiel side... Montiel by knockout within 7...
i would say its 50/50. i havent seen much of nonito but lots of people are hyping him up.
its going to be a good fight hopefully, but im pulling for montiel.
Donaire gets hit with shots every now and then. He'll outbox Montiel but will know that he's been in a hard fight.
Donaire close but clear UD.
Reason he barely gets hit cause 4 or 5 inches taller or bigger
donaire has fought fly weights and minimum weight fighters
Montiel is an elite fighter if any of You canT Handle thats
fine but Montiel either destroys Donaire or beats him
ko 4 or 6
What the fucc has Donaire done to earn sooo much respect
Since Vic who the fucc has he fought a fly weight a fuccin minnimum weight fighter in Manuel Vargas shi-t this dude took pain killers to fight Donaire Montiel has fought Gonzalez and Hasegawa was close against
Gonzalez and he destroyed Hasegawa in half a fuccin round when Hasegawa
had 3 and a half rounds to do something. These vatos are almost the same age skill wise Donaire is not better how the fucc do we know when he fights guys two or three times smaller than him while Montiel fight guys bigger or the same size.
Montiel has a 80 to 90 percent chance of winning
10 percent WTF is anyone thinking
where the respect for Montiel seriously Japan and beat the best banta come on
Exactly.
Nonito "basher of bums" Donaire is overrated.
The funny thing is, most of you think this is gonna be a war. I don't think so, atleast not a physical war, but a tactical one.
I think this fight has a better chance of being a stinker than an all-out war. Donaire does not like to get hit and Montiel takes awhile when it comes to fighting movers.

This is a pick 'em fight. I've envisioned this matchup long before it even seemed possible that these two could actually end up sharing a ring together.
I am leaning towards Montiel. I think he has enough speed/experience to overcome some of the obstacles Nonito presents. I think he's mentally tougher, this is where Fernando shines, the grit he has shown whenever he has been in trouble, even been kd'd at times, only to come back stronger and end up finishing the opponent.
Nonito as good as he is, only has one gear. Montiel appears to have the better stamina.
