Arthur Abraham Update
Former IBF middleweight champion Arthur Abraham told BILD that he’s just not a super middleweight. “The others are simply larger. I’m always the smallest,” he stated. King Arthur added that he will still be challenging Andre Ward for the WBA super middleweight title in the Super Six semi-final and will remain with trainer Uli Wegner.
This situation reminded me of this qoute.
You were a big fish in a small pond, but this here is the ocean and your drownin'. Take my advice, go back to Puddleville.
Green for anyone who remembers the movie.
haha, no need for this green k nonsense, but the film is Big Fish. :You_Rock_
Yes he is, he is just not that good.

Look who's makin excuses now .. that's what he get talkin all dat shid bout andre dirrell now he's the one looking like a b!tch "I'm just not a SMW ,everyone bigger than me" stop cryin f*g
And man up . His career is done .. he got exposed by dirrell
Abraham doesn't look or sound like he really cares about boxing, at least not at the level the best in the sport do.
I agree.
He needs to take a long look in the mirror and decide if he still loves the sport.
He get let this loss destroy him or he can rededicate himself and comeback better than ever.
Character test for AA.
At least his still fighting he could have easily left the tournament like a lot of others.
Probably the only reason he will go ahead with the Ward fight is because there is a guaranteed purse and if he doesn't he will never approach that level of pay again.
I still there is a great chance of him pulling out. His trainer threw him under the bus and he even must admit he will have literally zero chance of beating Ward.
AA is a guy I used to really really dislike, but now I'm actually feeling sorry for the guy. He has all the tools, but he doesn't know how to utilize it. I mean, Tyson is one of his favorites fighters, and it's a bit ironic that while AA has zero upperbody movement, Tyson had great head/ upperbody movement. There were many opportunities where Abraham could have slipped Froch's jab and thrown a counter right over the top, but that style of his has really messed him up. It's like his body is automatically engineered to go into a shell once his opponents throw, anyone notice that? Clottey has the same issues too.
I noticed this too and immediately thought about Clottey. It also makes me think about the AA vs. Jermaine Taylor fight.
AA victory over JT should be given to Bernard Hopkins. Bernard took something out of Taylor in those two fights.
AA has has not been looking so good since he just got past Taylor
AA is really really overrated.
This is really quite sad and pathetic from AA. He's already admitting defeat and got his excuses ready before even fighting. Why wasn't he saying this bull**** when he KTFO'd Taylor?
You're not too short. You're too scared.
Sure he can. He just needs a low-carb diet.
He has some excess body weight. I'm the same height and stocky/muscular like Abraham and weigh 180, but my waist is just 32" compared to his 35". He's overweight.
Abraham is just a little baby who needs a bottle.
He is EXACTLY the same height and has EXACTLY the same reach as Zsolt Erdei.
He also has 100x the punching power of Erdei.
Yet Erdei won a Cruiserweight title giving up 20 lbs and never lost a single fight as a 175lb'er.
He never cried about being "too small".
Erdei is Abraham's daddy. And so is Carl Froch, and Andre Dirrell... and Uli Wegner too apparently.
Roberto Duran went from Featherweight to Supermiddleweight and still looked 1000x better than Abraham.
Abraham is about 3 inches taller and has 6 inches of reach on Duran.
Feeling sorry for himself like a sorry ass little *****.
For the record Abraham is also just about exactly the same size as Jeff Lacy.
As bad as Lacy got his ass whooped by Calzaghe at least he wasn't such a sorry little midget f@g that he comes out and says "waaaah waaaah I'm too short, it's not fair~~"
Dude you can't agree to disagree can you, you just repeat and repeat without compromise.
I nor anyone else AFAIK said he's TOO small per say. He is as a matter of fact shorter, has less reach and is smaller than all the others in the super 6 be they old or new in the tourney. No matter what you say that is to SOME degree, relevant, and not at least, a positive. That's that.
Really, resorting to such lame name calling just for liking a fighter, much like you do? Grief I was half playing devils advocate and mocking myself. Don't take shit so seriously.
Dude he's been quoted so many times speaking ill of Calzaghe, Khan, Abraham and others often not in relevent ways or times, that it's ridiculous. You can like it fine, but don't make out like because you like it and him, and say what he does makes him great, doesn't mean your right and everyone has to agree with you. It just so happens they don't, but I can at least respect your view somewhat. I would do more so if you weren't so arrogant about it however.
All I've done it mention Calzaghe and you've gone off on one, resorting to petite name calling and assumptions I'm wrong because of whom I support. All your doing is exactly that with your guy, ironically enough.
Heavyweight division is always going to get more attention, and Haye markets himself better as the stat's prove. Heck for what it's worth I agree Froch deserves more attention, all I'm saying is there's often reasons why your not getting it, and I can see what he's not endeared himself to the public, that's all. Yes, it is a shame in some ways, I'm happy to admit he deserves more.
In your opinion. Your clearly seriously disgruntled with your guy not getting more attention. It's not me that's done it so stop shooting your gun off so wildly. Don't attack me for merely mentioning a fighter I'm a fan of like so many are, then expect me to respect you when you insist your guys god and everyone should agree, that sir, is hypocrisy.
I think we'll leave it there. You don't seem to respond well to objective non name calling discussion and seem to resort lower by the reply, of which I won't lower myself. Best of luck to you, though.
dude, lol, this is a boxing forum, don't expect a civilzed conversation!
He's determined enough in the ring. People have misinterpreted the present shortcomings in his style as lack of determination, fortitude.
Men who lack determination/fortitude don't walk through that kind of fire and be trying to KO the other guy in the 12th. Abraham fought like he fights, he was looking for the openings the whole fight, tried to follow the plan, but where he would typically find openings, Froch kept him locked in the shell with the strenth and volume of his barrages.
Whether he can adjust his style isn't all down to him. Wegner is garbage, and now he just called his fighter a "coward" - Abraham needs someone else (he should put Wegner's fat ass in a coma before he ditches him, too).
Abraham is comfortable walking forward and taking shots on his gloves. he walked through some hard shots, but he spent the whole night looking for one shot, and he didn't try and create openings.
Froch used his combination punching and strength well but there was openings for Abraham throughout the fight but he seemed content to hide behind his guard.
AA is not too small for SMW, period. If he can't adjust his style, he won't be too big a deal there, and that's all it is.

:pat: That's completely Gay, man.

He's already said he was mis-quoted re. Khan. And he was fighting Abraham, how is it not relevant to talk a little and build the fight? He was trying to get Joe into the ring with him, everything he said about Joe was relevant to that.
Anyway, who cares what a man says? It's what he does, and Froch is doing. What did Calzaghe do for years?

Umm, no, not for good reason at all. Now you're just letting resentment (brought on by Calzaghe man-love) take over your senses.
All I've done it mention Calzaghe and you've gone off on one, resorting to petite name calling and assumptions I'm wrong because of whom I support. All your doing is exactly that with your guy, ironically enough.
Are you seriously trying to tell me that David Haye is worthier of investment than Froch is?
That Froch isn't a domestic Superstar is one of the biggest, most head-shakingly frustrating travesties going and says it all about how clueless and how far off the pulse the British sports media is anymore, especially when it comes to boxing. If Sky, ITV or anyone had a clue, the nation could be excitedly following one of the best, most fearless runs ever put together by a British prizefighter, but the casual public is left mostly oblivious instead.
It's the inept attitude of the media in this pokey, stupid little country holding Carl back from being a Superstar, not the fact that he talks some trash.
In a past era, Froch would have been a domestic superstar.
Heavyweight division is always going to get more attention, and Haye markets himself better as the stat's prove. He's much worthier of that than Calzaghe ever was...and Joe only got it late on, because the large part of his career was nothing special. The acclaim and plaudits that Joe received from the establishment at the end of his run were so hollow and hypocritical, anyway.

He is shorter than most super middleweights but he belongs in that weight class.
He struggled to make middleweight for years before he moved up as well.
He can't blame his lack of height on the fact he lacks determination or the ability to adjust.
