My first prediction of the outcome, Khan will take a mid to late TKO from this fight and Maidana will do no significant damage.
I cannot even see Maidana even wobbling him, for that he will need to land some clean shots and he won't land any. Khan will be landing the more cleaner shots, even better than ever before. His jab will be more effective. Maidana claims to bring something new to this fight but I believe he will bring the same offense and style as he previously had. Styles do make fights one may say but I think this is great for Khan to silence the critics and get impressive win.
In the end Khan >>> Maidana except in power. But power is no use if you can't land. I can't see Maidana cutting off the ring well against Khan either. Maidana will get extremely frustrated and will definitely look for the one punch knockout much more anxiously as the fight goes on, which is what he should aim for anyway once the time is right. But this will be his downfall for him it will come with a price. Bare searching, no output
Khan TKO 8-9
30k khan beats Maidana (in any fashion) 1:1
8k to your 25k khan will win by KO/TKO
Realistically, I don't see this fight going the ditance unless Khan is winning clearly and gets hurt or rocked late in the fight and carries it to a face decision. Nonetheless, Maidana is pretty slow, not to mention that Khan is far faster. I don't see Khan getting rocked in this fight. I think Khan pin points a lot of his shots and wears his man down.
After a while, Maidana will get tired and try to land something big, over-commit and get dropped. Potentially stopped.
I'm one of those fans that has been slowly but surely impressed by Khan. Yes Prescott Ko'd him but you cant measure a fighter by his best nor his worst fight. The truth lies in the middle somewhere. What stands out to me is the way he handled Kotelnik and Malignaggi.
Maidana had all kinds of trouble with Kotelnick. And that Ukranian is a pretty good fighter...he gave Alexander all he could handle....DK's dirty little secret is that he knows Kotelnik went to "The 'Lou" and beat Alexander but far be it for Mizzou judges or DK himself to let a Euro walk outta there with a W...especially with Bradley looming in the wings.
Anyway I digress.....Khan vs Kotelnick (for me anyway) showed Amir doesn't fight amateurish anymore. Malignaggi is feather fisted but a vet nonetheless and the difference between he and Amir was as wide as a country mile.
Maidana is a heavy fisted Mo'Fo and while I do think there is a chance we see
Khan get Hatton'ed...er I mean P-Will'ed...I am leaning to Khan boxing circles around the Argentinian.
I guess I'm still undecided but Khan is no slouch.
It is a tight fight but I am going with Maidana winning by KO. I just don't believe the spin that Khan is a hugely improved boxer since Prescott,he is better but his defense has never been that good. I also don't buy the spin that his chin is much better at 140. I think Maidana is good enough to eventually land some meaningful blows and when and if that happens I just don't see Khan holding up.
That's fair enough. If I could see that he'd land some meaningful and significant blows i would be inclined to agree.
