This is not a bash, I just noticed something rewatching Pac/Marg (I noticed it during the fight also).
But people bash Floyd for not being tough or having heart, But the sheets got snatched off for a second.
Manny came back firing like a mini tank, but he ran when he got hurt, Floyd stepped forward to a bigger puncher.
What do you guys think about this?
Though most felt Mayweather beat Baldomir easily after 12 rounds, his pinpoint barrage on his opponent’s cement head did more damage to his own right hand than it did the Argentine’s cranium.
“People don’t know how close we came to ending the fight,” said Leonard Ellerbee, who worked Mayweather’s corner on Saturday night.
Backing out after getting hurt by a punch inside the ring is much better than backing out in a negotiation just to avoid to fight that very person.
Best post in the thread.
Yeah on that first right hand Mosley lands Floyd grabs on for his god damn life. I could have sworn he was gonna dislocate Mosley's shoulder he was holding on so hard
Hell yeah he was. He about ripped his damn shoulder out of socket.
mosley speed wasnt there in the first 2 rounds wtf you talking about? mosley barely punched in round 1. he landed the first big right hand he threw in round 2 and he he caught floyd swining in round 2. what speed are you talking about? go watch the fight. mosley wasnt gassed he wasnt tired he wasnt anything. dude hit floyd with his hardest shot and floyd took it and took mosley confidence away. ontop of that floyd shots to the body and consistant counter punching had mosley scared to pull the trigger. he was only looking for the knockout shot because he knew he couldnt outbox or outwork floyd. end of story
I guess your one of those who can't read and understand it properly. I said was Mosley's speed wasn't there after round 2. Meaning round 3 to the end, hsi speed wasn't the same. Like i said, Mayweather did not adjust, Mosley got tired after round 2. His age and almost of 4 months of training with a couple of weeks rest did not help Mosley.
Mosley speed wasn't there after round 2. Mosley is one of the few humble boxers outthere, he don't want to make excuses.

Floyd clinched..Manny threw punches....
whatever mosley wasnt gased mayweather took his confidence from and mosley was excited. he was looking for that same shot but mayweather took it from him and beat him up. wasnt gassed in no 2 rounds yall sound stupid everytime yall say that. mosley dont even use that excuse. not one point was mosley tired he just couldnt find that bullzeye he was in round 2 again

Because Mosley was gassed after the 2nd round. Mosley trained almost 2 months before the fight with Berto was cancelled. Then rested a couple weeks then trained 2 months for Mayweather fight.
Basically Mosley overtrained, training from December to May 1 with a couple of weeks rest.

your main thing when hurt is to survive and when you recover you continue to fight. floyd did a tactic thats taught in the gym and he didnt jsut hold on he held the same arm that hit him before mosley could pull it back and fire it again which is a smart and hard tactic that requires good reflexes. second time he got got stun he put his guard up and recovered fast and started to walk mosley down. manny got hurt he put his guard up and moved out the way. both tactics are good tactics because they both survived and dominated the rest of the fight. neither was knocked down neither was knockedout. either tactic was good for that situation. in boxing you cant rely on jsut holding or jsut moving away because it dont work for every situation. its a chess game sometimes you have to survive to win the battle.
both boxers get credit and it shows a champion who can weather the storm and continue to fight and win and dominate. and not give your opponent another chance at hurting you again

I say watch it again! floyd hold on mosley's arms for dear life he didnt stepped forward he just hold and clinch to avoid getting KO'd!like hell he did-lol---floyd wasn't that hurt like many of you think--he was never close to being ko'ed by shane--****t, he wasn't even close to being knocked down by the man---floyd was fighting back well--but people seemed to be in awe of shane hitting floyd and stunning him pretty godd as well as buckling him some---floyd in no way was floyd almost being knocked out by shane--yes, he did hold shane's arms--like he was supposed to to catch his balance--and neuteralize shane's offense which he did---everytime floyd has gotten wobbled some, he held on--not for dear life, but to stop the attack---that's smart--he did nothing new by holding shane's arms---he did the same thing with zab and chop----only to go on dominating the round and rest of the fight---he recovers fast--it's more like a stunning shot to floyd seeing how he actually got caught with it---floyd has a solid chin, people need to realize this--just coz he has a terrific defensive arsenal, doesn't mean he's unhitable--every fighter is hitable---did you guys even see the rest of the round--the reason why shane couldn't capitalize off of the second, well timed punch, was because floyd was never really hurt like you all seem to think--those who think that anyways---floyd dominated the rest of the round and came out the stonger man in the 3rd round when he decided to open up on shane more---he walked shane down, which is why he offset shane's offense--shane thought he had him hurt to the point where floyd would just grab and hold, when in fact, shane was caught off guard by it, and became nervous it seemed---
shane's nerves got the best of him, and that was due to floyd offsetting his arsenal---floyd actually landed more punches than shane did in the 2nd round of the fight--he was never in any immediate and serious danger---
what fight were you guys actually watching--floyd smiled it off just like he did with zab and went on to fukk zab up just like he did with shane o mac----floyd was more embarrassed i think than hurt---i feel the only reason he got himself in the position of even being hit like that was because he wasn't pressing the attack yet---he even said he wanted to press the attack earlier than he did--it seemed as if team mayweather wanted him to feel shane out for about 4 rounds before getting into his zone---but floyd knew he should have kept his hands higher which usually enabled him to throw more and at a faster rate--you see how shane lost his footing in round 1 when he slipped after missing floyd and floyd went for a blistering shot--floyd seemed as if he wanted to walk shane down from the beginning of the fight---he kept that left hand low trying to figure out a way to start timing shane--and he paid for it, coz shane came at him hard---and caught floyd off guard--and then he timed floyd's left hook attempt when he landed the overhand right hook that buckled floyd as floyd was going down to avoid the punch--which offset floyd--so it was a combination of floyd ducking a punc but getting in visually perfect range for shane to land that punch---shane timed floyd damn near perfectly---but shan got too anxious to end the fight and nazim told him not to do that--he told him not to rush it if he caught him good with a power shot because that window of oppertunity wouldn't be there for long--and it damn sure wasn't --
when floyd started to methodically break shane down with well timed shots, shane panicked and that's was lost the fight for him---floyd made that happen---
just watch the middle of round 7 when shane tried to throw the 1-2 combo at floyd only to have floyd roll his shoulder just enough to block the shot and land a right cross on shane, catching him off guard--floyd couners off of that shoulder roll very well---he counters off of the block---ask many of his opponents especially carlos gerena, when floyd fought him at 130 and was on the ropes and carlos throw a right hand and floyd rolled his shoulder and countered him perfectly and stunned the living **** out of him right before he knocked him down with a barrage of punches in round 1 of the fight--floyd has that shoulder roll counter mastered----manny will learn also---
floyd adapts too well---manny was hurt more than floyd was imo, but kept on fighting well as usual--manny's a special fighter, no doubt---
Even Sr said what Jr should have done is stick that jab out and get the hell outta there and thats exactly what Manny did. Also very different ring positioning, Manny wasn't about to out-muscle Marg with one arm caught in the ropes.
Have any of you guys actually ever been in a ring? If you get tagged with a good shot, one that momentarily wobbles you, you can either escape out of your opponents range, or grab on for dear life. In both cases, that's smart boxing.
I'm new to this board because I love boxing, but I really don't see many posts actually about boxing.
good luck talking actuall boxing on this board man. The people in here(dumbasses) would rather discuss USADA, OSTs, and boxers with twitter and facebook accts. This thread is a good example of the boxing IQ on these boards.
