OR if he does, it won't be in a healthy manner? He was way too heavy in the last weight check. I can't imagine that losing so much weight in a small period of time will have no effect on him. Not making an excuse for him because watching your weight is part of the game. There's no excuse.
He weighed-in with all his clothes on.
and they sid he had just eaten a full lunch. They said he was about 174 30 days out from this Sat. He will be fine.......
I was wondering about this. It's pretty upsetting if this is out of his normal approach to fights. And if it is his normal approach, he needs to work with different conditioning coach and nutritionist.
I hate when fighters don't make weight because in most cases it shows lack of discipline or "I don't give a shyt about the rules/contract" attitude after the other fighter has followed through on his end. I'd like to see Maravilla take this fight but he's going to need top conditioning to withstand PW's pressure should the fight go 12. And draining himself, if that's happening, will put him at a big disadvantage in an already tough fight to call

So I was off on the time.

As of today, WBC middleweight champ Sergio "Maravilla' Martinez is 160lbs, "Feeling great and ready for Saturday"20 hours ago.
it'll be tough on him, for sure. but elite fighters are supposed to rise to challenges, and Sergio is gonna work his butt off.
157 is a doable weight, even though Sergio was at VERY near the MW limit for Pavlik.
