There's many ways to beat Margarito (sorry for this Margo)....and so depending on what constitute "better performance" from the author asking the question. • If one is asking about STOPPING MARGARITO COLD and FRANK...then Mosley's fight is up there. Raw power and tenacity exhibited. • If one is asking about total dominance, every angle, opportunity, dynamism, action, and rapid-fire "entertainment" (if gore is your cup of tea)...then Pacquiao's fight is! But if we are talking about Against all Odds in terms of size, weight, height and all, then it is Pacquiao's. But if we are talking about expectations and with a cold snap as crispy as a cold and pickled cucumber, then Mosley's! :) A lot of factors to consider, summed up nicely here.

But looking at the Mosley's weight and Margarito's on fight night, they both weighed 160lbs. It's but natural that Mosley could KO Margarito with those power shots. If Pacquiao weighed 160lbs on fight night, he could have done better, maybe a KO within 5 rounds.

Flomos did you consider these factor in Marg vs Mosley fight at all? Marg was weighed drained in that fight! Marg was mentally screwed up about the plaster! Mosley was big as Marg and fought bigger guys than Marg! Mosley holding Marg punch after punch to avoid being hit back! Did Mosley weighed just 148 against 165 Marg? Of course you being a flomos will turned blind and pretending these did not happened.

Mosley's performance was definitely more impressive because Margarito at the time was considered a fucking BEAST. On top of that, Margarito was expected to win. Pac's win was more brutal though.

Not true at all, especially on here. Most thought Margarito was gonna be the 1st to stop Shane. Thats the kind of hype Margarito had at the time. Yup. Anyone who was following the sport at the time still had Margarito's performance over Cotto fresh in their minds, before the scandal and controversy exploded. Margarito looked like a juggernaut after his demolition of Cotto, and given Mosley's sloppy performance against Mayorga, many were banking on a Margarito decision or late TKO against a faded Mosley. Not only did Mosley win every single round, he landed a haymaker after haymaker throughout the fight, severely hurting Margarito at the end of the 8th, putting him down and stopping him in the 9th. Nobody saw something like that coming, certainly not a Mosley TKO anyway. However, when you put both Margaritos side by side you'd think Pacquiao was just more impressive. Both were. What did everyone prefer? Huge right hand bombs that made Margarito wobbly or speedy combinations over 12 rounds that sliced and busted up Margarito's face? Pacquiao's performance over Margarito was masochistic, but Mosley's was more impressive at the time given the circumstances and fans' perception of the fight.

i know we have had our differences, but i respect your opinion, but i disagree. not to mention the fact that margo never had a breather fight, i e a soft touch after such a brutal encounter with cotto. even cotto had a nice tune up to see where he was physically vs jennings then clottey. margarito went straight to mosley while still feeling the ill effects of the cotto fight not to mention the mental agony of the handwraps situation. Pac's victory in my opinion was much more impressive than shane a bigger man holding margarito down the entire fight. I guess we will have to agree to disagree. But we both win, because Margarito got owned in both cases. :fing02:

I think Mosley's performance was more impressive, it shocked most people how easy he made it look. Pacquiao's performance was great as well though.

Shane defeated a Zombie. joke :D post fight analysis are bull_****s regardles of what really happened. They are equal IMO Shane KTFO marg but marg wasnt all that at the time Manny failed to stop Marg. But that version resembles a Terminator like resilience.

which fight was more entertaining? which fight had a welterweight on fight night basically dominating & feeling sorry for what essentially was a freaking super middleweight? Pac's win was clearly more impressive. Shane Mosley knocking out knocking out a guy who was a 4-1 favorite over him was a much bigger deal than watching Pacquiao tee off on a guy he was heavily favored to beat. Marg had looked great at WW against Cintron, Clottey, and Cotto. He loses one fight and all of a sudden he's weight drained? Please. Once again, great victory for Pac, but Mosleys victory over Margs, who had just KOd the guy that outboxed Shane, was a much much bigger deal.

Mosley was either a 4-1 or 5-1 underdog. It was the performance of his career. Pacs performance was great due to the height/weight difference but Shanes was clearly better.

did anyone actually watch the mosley-margarito fight? it was absolutely dreadful. mosley clinched nonstop throughout the fight to prevent margarito from getting off. maybe berto and hopkins were more impressed but that's it.

how do you know that? how do you know what's goin on inside his head. margarito wasnt focused and he wasnt ready it was easy to see..from the first bell you could tell he didnt wanna be inside the ring he was there just to collect the check. he had no ballz to throw anything,yes he did a little bit at the near end but that little bit was NOTHING. and every time he threw a jab it took 15 seconds for the jab to arrive..margarito looked horrible against pacquiao. Because it was widely reported that he didn't take the Mosley fight seriously and came into camp at around 200 pounds.
