What strikes me as speaking volumes in Cap's words are that on the one hand he says he's sorry for Margarito for what he done, understands.
He then goes on to half avoid too much responsibility for the wraps from what I saw.
So what is he apologising for exactly?
The whole thing stinks.
He intentionally wrapped Marg's hands with hard gauze on a few occasions completely knowingly and planned, it doesn't just happen.
Furthermore Freddie and many are absolutely right, Tony had to have known normal wraps weren't on his hand, but instead ones with hard gauze in were.
It was confirmed to be plaster, how do you mistakenly wrap someones hands with plaster?
it was said to contain plaster like substances like calcium and some other crap..that doesnt say it was confirmed
Why would commissions allow trainers to use pre-made knuckle pads in the first place? Surely the commissions have closed this loophole by now, haven't they?
First, Capetillo complains he took all the blame yet, later, claims it was his own "mistake". A "mistake", as he explained, that happened because:
He panicked, made a "mistake" and grabbed the "training gauze", but feels Margarito’s management team should share responsibility.
Perhaps this "mistake" was a concerted effort and the "panic" was a little more widespread.
Yeah, reading that made me a little uncomfortable.
What bothers me about them is that they feel fine with blaming everything on me, and they take no responsibility
I think as managers they should have taken some of the responsibility, and they should have stood by me.
First, Capetillo complains he took all the blame yet, later, claims it was his own "mistake". A "mistake", as he explained, that happened because:
I started panicking the week of the fight, I knew we were in deep sh*t, and we couldn’t tell anyone. It was too late to pull out of the fight. But I want to make it clear that I did not plan what happened. Maybe I was feeling the pressure of the fight and not paying attention to what I was doing when I reached into my bag and grabbed the training gauze, but I didn’t do it on purpose.
I made a mistake. I wasn’t trying to hide anything. I just screwed up, and I did it in front of Mosley’s trainer and the commissioners. I was just under a lot of pressure because I knew we shouldn’t have taken the fight, I knew Tony was in trouble and I knew that I had put him in that position. I wrapped Tony’s hands four times in front of Mosley’s trainer and the commissioners and two representatives from Golden Boy after they found the gauze. I admitted then that I made a mistake

“What bothers me about them is that they feel fine with blaming everything on me, and they take no responsibility,” Capetillo said. “I heard some comments that Sergio made on (HBO’s) 24/7 about how he saw the gauze fall out from Margarito’s wraps before the Mosley fight. That was a lie. He wasn’t even back there . And if he was, and he did see something, why didn’t he say anything?
“I think as managers they should have taken some of the responsibility, and they should have stood by me. I gave them my first champion (115-pound beltholder Julio Cesar Borboa). I trained Margarito to a world title. I trained him for almost 10 years. We had 14 title fights, we made eight title defenses. I think I deserved some loyalty from them, and I think they are ungrateful for all the work I did.”
These comments from Capetillo are very telling. He is actually saying that everyone knew about the wraps. Why would the managers take responsibility? Because they knew that Marg was using the wraps, and Marg also knew. The only reason that he is not implicating Marg is bc Marg is still making money and he is getting a cut to keep his trap shut. :boxing:
Remember in the 24/7 before that fight wherein margaresto's wife remarked that their entire future hinged on winning that fight? The motive was there. I am sure the plaster was too.
Every boxers future hinges on their next big fight.
Try again Einstein.
Richardson was in the locker room yelling at everybody and being an *******.
Try doing anything right when some dick is in your living room screaming at you?
You can't cuz' your Danish and everyone knows the Dane's are pansies.
Loved this last statement.
it's possible that he started loading marg's gloves after the pwill fight, as margarito couldn't suffer another loss or else he wouldn't get a shot at the big names. if marg never got to fight cotto, he'd never gotten to fight mosley or pac.

It's great how the basic fuking logic in this statement pretty much destroys any of the so called Hand wrap theories Roach has been regurgitating over and over again.

The question is highly relevant. Capetillo claims he got confused and took some 'training-wraps' by mistake. Do you believe that?
Look Capetillo is a seasoned trainer in worldtitle fights so it would be nice to know what useless training-wraps where doing in his bag. Surely being as experienced as he say he is he wouldn't take something like that with him.

I see what your saying. I can believe that margarito never cheated before this fight, but i cant believe that they didnt know they were cheating against Mosley. I'm sorry, but for a trainer who's trained for 40 years, to suddenly wrap a hand illegally like that "by mistake" before a big fight is very very hard to believe.
Not only that, Capetillo had to put the wraps inside the bag to begin with, get the wraps from his bag, place them on Margarito's hand and through all this process, he did not realize that they were hard (plaster.) Yeah Capetillo we really believe your story.
What how in the fuking world would you know? Are you a 3 time welter weight champ? No!!!!
It's mind numbingly stupid how people who eat potato chips on their couches suddenly know what goes on with a fighter when preparing for a fight.
You by far are the biggest Idiot and cheerleader here. Your post a really becoming in the category of Clown Status. It is obviously that you have never fought in your life. So stop pretending like you know everything cause you don't.
Asking that question is irrelevent when he's fuking saying he responsiable! Fuking boxing fans I swear to christ it's like you want the man to give you his blood like he owes you something. He admits guilt, hes gonna be punished the rest of his life for it. The motherfuking end!

Fine so this is just a case of the pot calling the kettle black nice!!!
No, dumb f*ck.
He doesn't need to theorize. He was there. He did the wraps.
No one else in the forum was there, no one else in the forum did the wraps.
WE, in order to search for the truth, need to theorize. Think a lot. Look at video. History. Etc.
He doesn't. He either did it, or not. No need for yapping.
It's great how the basic fuking logic in this statement pretty much destroys any of the so called Hand wrap theories Roach has been regurgitating over and over again.
He beat Miguel Cotto because he has the style to beat Cotto. He’ll wear Cotto down and stop him every time they fight. It has to do with styles, not punching power. The same can be said about the Williams fight. That fight went the distance because of styles. It had nothing to do with hand wraps. But if I was someone who needed to load my fighter’s gloves for him to win, as Roach says, wouldn’t I do it for that fight, against a 6-foot-2 giant with a 32-0 record? I think Freddie knows we didn’t cheat in any of those fights. What he’s doing now is selling the controversy. He’s selling it to the media, the media is running with it and the public is buying
Funny thing is that he is saying that would happen if Tony had or didn't had plaster. So yes, he is theorizing, because he either had plaster, or he didn't, so one of them did not happen.
You never think you were owned because you just keep flappin' your mouth in a self-congratulatory way. That's enough for you.

And thats the trainer not the fighter which is why the trainer should be scrutinized.
See and this is exactly why I believe Margaritos story. Why in the world would capatillo fall on his sword when in the same breath he is pissed off how he was treated by managment. Unlike Panama Lewis who left his fighter out to dry.
And for all of those who say that hes covering up how many more stories are you gonna fuking make up to justify you bullshhhiiit theories?

Lame bullsh!t from capetillo.
Not on purpose? Huh? How stupid does he think we are? He would instantly have been able to feel that those wraps where hard.
And why the hell did he bring 'training wraps' to the fight? The interviewer fails by not asking that question.
Very true. He's had a lot of time to think about what he's wanted to say. These excuses confirm what I've felt all along.
