Khan Beats Maidana: Will Khan Get The Credit He Deserves?

from all of the 140 pounders maidana is the one who will cause more troubles for khan if he kos him ill call him the best at the division, if its close i think bradley is still the best

I'll give him a lot of credit if he wins, especially if he wins a decision its going to be hard for Khan to last 12 rounds with Maidana without getting hit.

I don't see why not since Maidana is powerful and most peoples questions about Khan relate to his ability to not get knocked out by a power puncher. I am sure if Khan wins by out boxing Maidana people will say some things along the lines of Maidana is easy to outbox/is a face first brawler but this is who the public wanted to see him fight.

Whats the las vegas odds for this fight? Who is the favorite and by how much? not sure about vegas odds, but over here in UK, khan is big fav for the fight. khan to win 4/11 maidana to win 2/1

He gets credit. He gets credit for fighting and beating the best puncher in his division, he gets credit for arguing hes the best at 140 with a win over Maidanna and his wins already. Even with the win Bradley the best at 140 Imo. One thing he will prove if it happens is his chin can hold up, that the prescott fight was a 'one off'. If Khan can take shots from Maidana and still be there, i think Khan has great potential.

I think that bacause he was KO'd so brutally, his chin will always be suspect to some extent. If he takes some hard shots well, then the chin factor will lessen but not go away. As far as respect goes, I already viewed him as top 4 anyway. If he wins this fight I think he will also beat the winner of Bradley/Alexander.

If kahn gets KTFO again, auestions will be asked and hsould be about amir'slongevity at world level, not being able to take a punch. Hes had enough time with fredie to work on defense/movement and if he does get KOd by maidana, he will be fighting bums for a long time

Truthfully he doesn't deserve that much credit depending on how he beats him. If he fights him, and out skills him on the inside (at least part of the time), than there's not way he doesn't recieve credit. But if he fights the way I think he's going to fight, stick and move on the outside to what should be an easy UD, than who cares. Maidana is a retard when it comes to boxing skills.

I see alot of people on this site and most of the boxing forums laying into Khan and constantly talking about his now infamous chin. But lets say Khan beats Maidana, will he get the respect and credit he deserves or are the haters going to come up with BS reasons to taint his win? In no way am I saying that a Khan win over Maidana is a definate. Maidana has that punchers chance, as he would against any of the top 140lb fighters. I can see many BS excuses coming out of this but urge the sane critics to use their heads. Maidana would check that chin. If he takes well and wins then he gets a lot more respect. At this point, his chin is questionable, once he gets past that he can truly be considered one of the best at 140.

Respect and contempt are EARNED. Khan gets a lot of flack because of the protected nature of his career is at odds with his PR machine. Beating Maidana who he went to great lengths to avoid fighting but was eventually cornerred and forced to fight otherwise would lose the title will do his reputation no harm and a lot of good . If he takes clean shots to the chin and survives the bad chin rap will be done but Khan needs to clean up his PR machine tO get real respect . It is the spin and bull**** that is reponsible for the contempt that is generated against him. The same goes to Haye and all other fighters that say one thing and do another.

Absolutely. Maidana is a LIVE opponent in the division at the moment, so Khan could make alot of head way winning this fight. If Khan knocks Maidana out then it's going to look more impressive.
