To all those who are hispanics, congratulations. We are responsible for being the worlds #1 boxing ppv buyers in the world.
Now,what would happen if mma got a complete overhaul of genuine hispanic fighters? Id pay for a Puerto rico/Mexican rivalry in the octogan.World wide spanish broadcasters? Hispanic beer sponsorships and promos? Weekly hispanic channel mma highlights?
All these factors come into play, and in my opinion i beleive thats the only way they would ever conquer boxing with ppvs, not that it would drive boxing off the map.If they can take control of the hispanic market and not forget the principle of mixing in other ethnics in fights then it might be a done deal.

Well, with Velasquez being UFC Heavyweight Champion and Bellator tournaments being shown on ESPN's Spanish channel Deportes, it sounds like a Hispanic influence has already happened to some extent.
Then that would mean they are all fucking dick riders, love the sport because you love it not because you are dick riding people that relate to which ever desent you may come from.
Boxing and MMA can both benefit from the hispanic community. Last night there were alot of hispanics watching UFC because of Cain Velasquez. Alot of hispanics love fighting sports whether it is the boxing ring or in the cage.
Boxing will be m 2nd favorite sport behind MMA when PR's intergate to UFC. Caz its ultimate fighting, name explains all, but for right now, I just see Jorge Rivera, Ricco Suave, and Kevin Abrante, nothing esle. Its takig fight sports to another level.
I also like it, until it becomes Ultimate Humping, and that's usually at the 30 second mark. That's as far as I'll watch it and I'll never pay for it.
I'm Cuban. To us, Boxing will always be greater. Way too much history there. Boxing has me for life.

I think the hispanics that like boxing would not move to mma. All of the history that boxing has cannot be replaced by some spanish highlights, and broadcasters. I believe that mma is probably geared to a younger demographic. So in a sense they could expand viewership by targeting spanish speaking fans. However, I doubt that they could reduce boxing fan retention in hispanics.
In no way will mma ever steal the regular casuel boxing fan.Esp hispanics. You are absolutely right abt the youth being more persuade to mma.Viewership is as far as they could go and a diverse fan base.Other then that i think at a point boxing will find a way to accelerate.Im listing some options mma could capatilize on.
You make some good points TS about Hispanics and their contribution to boxing staying alive but its not really a competition between boxing and MMA as they are two different thing.
Why would someone decide they like MMA and then just all of a sudden decide they don't like boxing anymore and are not going to watch it as much if they were fans of it for so long?
A true boxing fan will never abandon the sport. As far as mma will go they will only compete in ppvs (where all the moneys at),stealing a brigade of boxing
fans would be impossible.Boxing is beyond a throwback sport. Its classic. The only sport to compete in a single handedly bodily part.
They have already they put a lot of money behind Roger Huerta and Diego Sanchez and now Cain Velasquez, what they fail to realize is how big boxing is in Mexico it would take them decades to even make a dent in that market.
Mexico is huge in boxing.Great promotional marketing and a strong supportive fan base.As long as your undefeated youll be sure to make it to stardom with the right guidance.Mma likes to schedule and compete on the same days as big boxing fights.Somehow the come up short everytime.

They do have some hispanics in mma/ufc/wwe(or whatever it is called) but my people still don't care about that garbage.
