How does a mayweather win in any way concede Manny's greatness ? 7 weight divisional titles (potentially 8) don't just happen and 1 loss isn't going to wipe that away. A floyd win will just reaffirm his greatness , manny won't be relegated to anything less than great.
Co-sign. He wants people to respect Floyd yet he constantly says things to discredit any Manny accomplishment. He wishes it did, but Manny's along with Floyd's accomplishments are forever a part of boxing history. Just another hating ass thread from burner, same sh1t different day...smh

Yup, a great beating a great, that's why Floyd needs this fight. This fight will give him legitimacy.

Agreed. Garcia helped his hands a lot. The layoff allowed them to heal and now Garcia is going to keep them in working order. Time catches up to us all, it very possible that Mayweather's legs are going, but it's also possible that he just found a tactical advantage to standing his ground and out boxing his last two opponents. Regardless Mayweather's boxing IQ is the greatest Ive ever seen and I truly believe he could continue fighting long past his prime.
Yep. Say what you will about "boring", but as far ring smarts, Mayweather is on a different level. It's not by accident. He has been around fighters his whole life. And he transfers that inside the ring. It's fun to watch, and see him adapt on the fly.
And Concede Money's greatness?
C'mon Burner....."Concede" his Greatness.....if he loses to FLoyd....what is the shame in that? And how would that diminish his "greatness"?
Floyd = p4p#1, long reign in the p4p rankings, undefeated and schooled the fighter MOST thought would be his greatest challenge......
Just means Floyd's level is stupid crazy.......and Manny's level is above the "mortal fighters" yet just below Floyd's....
BUT I get what your saying and WHO your asking.....puahahahahaha!!
And Concede Money's greatness?
No! I am a Paq fan and do not like Floyd, but I have never doubted Floyds talent. If the fight happens, and I have stated this on several occasions, I hope Paq wins but in a betting situation I would pick Floyd as about a 3 to 2 favorite.
Honestly why no Floyd fan has given this man props is beyond me. Garcia has got Floyd having the same confidence he had circa Corrales. I fully expect Floyd to start letting his hands go more and putting more into his punches, not because he has no legs but more because of what Rafael Garcia has done for his hands and confidence in them.

Firstly, pbf must give himself the opportunity to beat Pac by fighting him. If he beats Pac he can do no better than that, and i would give credit.
But naturally, i would assume Pac didnt have a good day at the office. I would assume Pac wasnt at his best.
Parumph! Mayweather's sure admonishment of said opponent will no likely be cause of grave concern to yon Queen Mum's bossom! Good day to you sir! Good day!

I think Round 1 will be the nerviest round of Floyd's career, I felt he and Mosley were both extremely tentative in the first round of their bout. Floyd seemed to have more respect for Mosley than he has had for any recent opponents.
Once Floyd sees what you are about and is able to adjust it is extremely hard to do anything about it, which is why Manny will have to keep showing different looks. I'm not too sure that relentless pressure that many believe can lead to Floyd getting outworked would work. I think that could just end up in Ricky Hatton mk II.
Some believed Ricky's closing of distance made Mayweather uncomfortable and it did mean that he had to move faster than he probably would have wanted, but he was still comfortable because he doesn't need to get set to throw his shots.
But Manny is a differnet animal, the fight is hard to imagine in my mind.
Mayweather seems to me getting into that kind of "Jordan" mode. Can't take off from the free throw line, but will murk you with the fade away jumper. Stronger. Not as explosive, but stronger. I don't see a easy fight against Manny. But I do see a 8-4, 7-5 victory.

Great point!
It still doesn't change the fact that the first thing to go on any athlete is reflex/reaction time. Most guys are very cerebral in the since that they can position themselves in such a way they can get away with it, have the IQ to hide it, but again it doesn't mean it's not happening. Since you are bring up b-hop, he hides it by his clinching, inside fighting, and over boxing IQ and savvy. If he were ever to stand at a certain distance against the right opponent and try to outbox them , you will defiantly see how far he has slipped reflex wise.
Agreed. Its just with floyd and bhop their lifestyle deoesn't contibute to their downfall. Its like Allen Inverson, he has definitely lost a lot, but still hanging out drinking/smoking til 4-5 am at 34 damages the body in other ways.
I think roy's changing his body structure, gaining weight, muscle than losing it so fast had a significant effect on his reflexes/reaction time. Obviously he had lost something at that age.
excellent point, they mentioned how he had worked with a doctor to learn more about the bones in the hand and how they work together in 24/7. dont rememeber which one.
As for the topic of the thread; whoever wins deserves all the recognition as the best fighter of this era.

But wasn't Jones feeling the effect of having his body change so much in such a short period of time? In the case of floyd, (BHop too) they keep their bodies in great shape so there seems to be less wear and tear from "getting into fighting shape"
