Seriously. With Coutoure having a record of 18-10 and 6 of these losses coming from either KO or stoppages from strikes, I'd say placing money on the best striker he has yet to face would be a great bet no? Not only that, Toney is at +350 right now! +350 i can put up 200 and make 700 if he wins. I'd say the bookies are definitely sleeping on Toney. Please discuss gentleman.
Since this is a serious betting thread let me give you serious bettin advice.
Don't make the bet. There are too many "unknowns" going into this fight and if you are serious about making money gambling on fights there will be much wiser ways for you to gamble and win if you are patient.
The key is PATIENCE. When it comes to fighting you have to put personal feelings aside and leave certain fights alone. Do not bet on 4-1 underdogs unless you truly think you know something that very few others do.
James Toney has been a mediocre boxer for several years now. He has slown down considerably, he lost to Fres Oquendo and arguably lost to Danny Batchelder.
Couture may be older, but he has not slown down the way Toney has and he is a maniac when it comes to staying in physical shape. He is going to be so much stronger than Toney that they're not even in the same ballpark.
Dana White set Toney up to lose, point blank. He knows Couture is an animal and he knows Toney is in over his head.
You'd be better off betting that $200 on Couture and making off with $65 of easy money..

Ugh whatever Randy's record might be Tony is without a doubt the most limited fighter he's everfaced.
It was a fuking terriable bet if I would say so my self.
I'm not saying this is one of those cases, but sometimes the oddsmakers just get shit plain wrong. Dirrell vs Abraham was clear as day Dirrell would school Abraham, and yet abraham was at least a 4-1 favorite. I made good money on that.
It's rare, but sometimes these guys just completely miss the obvious for whatever reasons.
This could be one of those cases, but I can't call it cuz it's such an unknown (who the fuuck really knows what toney can do against an MMA fighter? Not many people know that answer).
your wrong on the odds. dirrell was like +160 range on the money line and around +250 by decision. abraham was -200 which is a 2-1 favorite.
its not the odds makers its public perception really. apparently a lot of people thought abraham would win and to be perfectly honest........2-1 favorite was about right. i had dirrell as well.
but i'll telling you-----mma lines are ****ed up because its almost impossible to deduce, or handicapp, the sport because of its elements. no promoters, no home towns, matchmaking, methodology of how mma careers are built, it goes on and on and betting on mma is a crap shoot. the frequency ive seen 10-1 favorites lose in the sport is appalling.
a 41 year old, shot boxer, fighting 50 lbs over his prime weight, who cant get a fight to save his life and has too much pride to fight on espn fnf fighting in a mma fight-------its very ovbious whats going to happen at ufc 116.
if you bet on james toney your going to lose. hitting a +350 is a very rare thing in handicapping boxing, never mind mma.
toney is going to have 1-2 chances to land a shot before couture grabs him and gives him the brandon vera treatment. doesn't take a young guy to pull that kind of win off. this fight is going to go down like this-----
i'll put all my points here up for grabs just to prove my point. no matter how much my heart aches when I say this, but james toney is going to lose.
exactly cameron
i myslef put 100$ on this fight and im contemplating putting more down
i have a strong feeling that toney will KO the bum couture, but theres also a small chance couture may dry hump him either to a decision (which he will obviously win regardless, since the UFC will pay the judges off) or an early referee tko stoppage (the ufc will also pay the ref off to stop it early)
toney wont loose, simple as that. im gonna bet on first round ko. cant see it going any other way. on one hand theres a 47 year old who could barely wrestle himself into a high school level team(watched a documentary on couture), on the other hand theres possibily one the of slickest fighters of the modern era. cant wait for this fight to shut up all the mma addicts. is it just my town, or do all the practitioners of mma have a record of being little gimps that hit the gym after leaving school and now think there hard after a few mma fights. a gimp will always be a gimp, fighters are born, not trained.

only put down as much as you're willing to lose. this is not a winning bet, so don't put the house on it.
Is not a "great" bet but Im gonna place it as well.
YOu got a guy in Toney who can really crack at heavyweight with 10 ounce Gloves, who will now be wearing like basically nothing on his hands....
I mean of COARSE its possible Toney figures out a way to land that shot, so its not a terrible bet.
Especially since Toney is the ****ing man and he is doing this for boxing and he would be a god to me if he could pull this off, and winning some money from this would only make it that much sweeter
I think you are wise.
Liddell beat Couture and Liddell isn't half the boxer Toney is. There was very little ground game in those fights so all toney has to do is keep distance and box; Randy won't have the legs to close the gap.
Randy is old it's more question of can he get the takedown before Toney clocks him? I say wait and see what weight Toney comes in @ mate.
