How Is the Way WARD fights inside In ANY way LEGAL???

You guys gotta be fuking kidding me...You folks are really crying about ward HOLDING?? If you were in a world title fight and suddenly realized the guy you are fighting couldnt fight for shit on the inside why would you not keep him there??? And honestly would the outcome have been any different had the ref separted them more often??? quit all this bitchin this is boxing

No. That's the reason Ward insisted on having all his fights on Goossen promoted cards in Oakland. The commentators and referee were disgraceful tonight. If thats how you feel then what about the Cotto-Foreman fight clearly that ref was a bit more absurd about insisting the hometown guy get a W at any cost.

The bottom line is that style is not even good club show stuff forget about big event stuff.its garbage to watch.

The last 6 rounds of the fight he was fighting very much within the rules, but in the first 6 rounds there was a RIDICULOUS amount of holding and hitting. BUT, the commentators didn't say peep about it, the ref didn't give any warnings, and most astonishing of all is the fact that Green never once complained about it! Therefore, I conclude that I MUUUUUUST be missing something. So can someone please explain to me how Wards style of in-fighting in that first 6 rounds was legal? You guys do know that Allan Green has a really good left hook right?! Andre Ward was just doing what it takes to win and removing his opponents best weapon. Fighting out of range and using his jab a lot, whilst holding his right up high to avoid Green's left. If you watch the fight over, you'll notice Green throwing his left a lot, lucky Ward had it up there to protect himself. If he'd had thrown more combinations he'd have left himself open to it. Also, closing the distance by fighting on the ropes to prevent Green from using his hook. His inner game was great. Theirs too much criticism for someone executing the perfect game plan. Plus SO WHAT if it wasn't entertaining. He's still beating the best out there and will continue to do so. Winning's what counts the most.... I'm glad he fights in a safety first sort of way, I would and any of you would to. 'So what' if it wasn't entertaining? Are you ****ing daft? Why do you watch boxing if you didn't find it entertaining? Of course you care. That's such a jackass thing to say. You wouldn't watch it if you didn't find certain fights entertaining and if every fight was like this, you wouldn't be watching it at all. This fight was not entertaining, and if everyone fought like that, no one would ever watch any of it.

The referees let him get away with it in his home town whilst the commentators lavish praise on him. He's the new darling of the networks and they are trying to build him into a superstar. i think hes on to something...they see potential in ward as a successor to mayweather/dlh as the next big american star ...so because of that, they allow him to get away with murder -if he ever has a close decision, they will give it to him in his favor for sure -they also allow him to bend the rules -the commentators are told by their bosses to "praise" him so it does a good job of brainwashing the people into believing hes the truth boxing politics/bullshit as usual

I love every bit of boxing just like true boxing fans. All I'm saying is give credit where it's due. Also, you say be more entertaining. Can I ask you, how could he have done this? he just fights ugly, similar to how b-hop fights. however there is a huge difference between ward and b-hop; b-hop fights ugly because that is his only option, whereas ward is a very talented boxer who could easily be a lot more entertaining imo. i have only seen maybe 6 of ward's fights but from what ive seen he can be more entertaining than this. he has great speed and can throw beautiful combos, which he did very sporadically last last, but he doesnt do it often enough. i mean come on man, green had given up after 8 rounds, he barely threw a punch after that. fans wanna see knock outs, and green was there to be knocked out last night but ward was content for an ugly decision against an extremely average, poorly prepared fighter. he is better than that in my eyes...

I hate how more and more fighters seem to get away with excessive holding and hitting, it makes for an ugly fight and its against the rules yet more and more refs allow it. Hatton did it all the time and for that reason i was never a fan nor am i a fan of wards style.

He had excellent movement in the middle of the ring - i didn't see a sittin duck He had to be wary about throwing combinations - green has a very good left hook, so Ward had to keep his right up high at all times... we all know that one punch can change anything right? and Ward has been chin checked before Counter Punching - didn't you see this? Sitting down on punches - didn't you see this too? not really and it was clear after a few rounds that green had absolutely nothing for ward that left hook of green was never thrown with any conviction i think he caught ward early on with one and that was about it all i saw was a guy throwing one shot then holding then doing the same thing occasional jab to the stomach it was boring i don't care what way you want to put it

this is exactly how i felt about the fight, except i thought his tactics were illegal for the whole fight. his holding and hitting was a joke, but the use of his head was worse from my perspective. i too couldnt believe that green didnt complain about it. the commentators were shamelessly hyping ward too, and by the end it was making me cringe. i have been impressed by ward but quite frankly he beat a c-level fighter last night in a dog turd fight that was nowhere near as impressive as the shameless commentators were making out. comparing him to sugar ray leonard is a ****in joke. if and when ward fights a top class fighter with unbiased officiating i will take him seriously. until then he remains unproven in my eyes...

glad i'm not the only one that noticed this can't remember what round it was but a whole round went by a he had green pinned into a corner a was holding greens arms down then getting his shots in and was wrestling with him constantly the ref was shit commentators was shit fight was shit worst fight of the tournament so far yes he was dominant but it was boring as shit comparing him to roy jones jr was just insulting imo ward needs to fight bute when this tornament is over then we'll see how good he is

Its seems like Ward only wants to fight inside against these top guys. I think he'd out think Froch...but I'm kind of iffy with that. If he tries to bully Froch and AA, I think they're going to put him on his ass. He has the skills to fight outside or atleast appears to....He got away with alot last night. I don't see how no one is seeing that.

I just watched it on DVR, literally fell asleep during the middle rounds, but it is late. Ward needs to fight outside of the bay. Some other refs wouldnt allow all that clinching, but since he's homefield its ok. I dont want to take anything from Ward, because he completely outskilled green in every way.
