Prior to getting the shot against Pavlik, you had that very tough, disputed loss against Paul Williams. First of all, do you still feel you won that Williams fight? Secondly, it’s not unheard of, but very rare to get a title opportunity coming off a loss, for which you can probably thank this guy sitting next to you (interpreter, advisor: Sampson Lewkowicz).
Sincerely, I believe I didn’t win that fight. I had the sensation that I should have done more to win, and I didn’t. (Lewkowicz exclaims to Martinez’ admission, “Even I am in shock!”) But I appreciate the great work by my advisor to get me the shot, and now justice has been done. It would be very interesting if you asked the same question to Paul Williams and see if he answers it sincerely. Maybe he feels the same way. That night both of us received a lot of punishment. Both of feel like we lost something in the ring, but we still gained something too.

Just for the record, that Pierre guy scored it 119-109, he automatically loses all credibility.
Julie Lederman scored it a draw, and the other judge scored it 115-113. So it is indeed a toss up.
Odd how fans confuse a bad scorecard with a bad decision isn't it?
Same thing happened with Diaz-Malignaggi last year and the cry of robbery will be brought up anytime in a close fight unfortunately.
Well the judges and Martinez himself scored it for Paul. Good enough for me.

Where are all the Williams haters and Martinez lovers?
This proves Paul Williams is the best Jr MW and MW in the world.
dumb......those who were watching it thought he won........
So if for whatever reason someone who clearly dominated a fight(not saying Sergio did against Paul) said they didn't think they won that means they didn't when most think they did?
I scored it for Sergio as many did, it was a close fight and Paul got the nod while it could have easily gone the other way. Regardless of what Sergio really thinks in his heart of hearts, he doesn't get to score his own fights.

So Burner thinks this
Could easily be a mistranslation. Martinez was very concious that he'd have to be more attacking and go for a KO against Pavlik. Having been jobbed on the cards a couple times, he may have been saying he needed to do more to get the decision
means this
Martinez's translator made the story up.....
lol
I'm sorry, keep me on ignore, you clearly don't have the reading comprehension necessary for any sort of basic argument.

What did Williams say after the Cintron fight, lol. Williams got worked over by Martinez and Cintron..and got a gift in both fights. Why did Williams turn down a rematch?

straight up, all jokes aside
this infamous quote that you swear by as if it was law, might possibly be an error due to translation
