This is a solid Jr. Welterweight matchup.
Ortiz seems to have found a new style (which suits him) and I'd love to see how that style matches up with Khan's style.
I think Khan will dominate the action when the two fight toe-to-toe, but when Ortiz starts moving he'll give Khan problems and possibly knock him out.
Khan lunges with his punches and fights sloppy on the inside. Ortiz would make him pay dearly. Ortiz also hits hard enough to gain Khan's respect, so you won't see Khan throwing the same volume of punches that he threw against Malinaggi.
The question is: is Victor Ortiz vulnerable enough for Freddie Roach to accept the fight? Ortiz has already said he'd fight Khan in his next fight.
does khan know how to cut the ring off effectively? if he does then he wins. if he can't and ends up following ortiz around then he gets ko'd. i think it's a good fight between two young fighters that needs to happen on hbo.
no more old ass nate campbell or pillow fisted paulie.
lets get it on!
khan is fighting with a lot of confidence right now. ortiz is very timid in the ring and not taking any chances. plus you have to consider that khan stopped ortiz in the amatuers
did khan actually stop ortiz? i thought i saw an interview with him where he said khan beat him "with pitty pat punches" which appealed more to the amateur scoring system.
I think Khan overall is the better fighter. And, I think Khan has more intangibles. But, stylistically wise. I think this is a very tough match up for Khan. Very tough.
I think Khan would have a way much easier time with Maidana. But, Ortiz and Holt very tough fight for him stylistically wise.

That's how I feel about it. Ortiz still looks like he hasn't quite recovered from the Maidana fight, so when a confident Khan is popping him and moving, will he be able to keep himself focused and confident as well?
khan is fighting with a lot of confidence right now. ortiz is very timid in the ring and not taking any chances. And you reckon it has nothing to do with Khan fighting a guy who had 5 KO's as opposed to Ortiz fighting a guy who had 25 KO's?
Right now Ortiz is looking a bit fragile mentally. For some reason I see him really getting up for this fight because he knows one good shot on Khan and it is over. Ortiz has much better footwork and movement than Khan although Khan is faster. I see Ortiz moving around and making Khan look a bit static then moving close to land a bomb and eventually getting the result he wants. The other fight I see is Khan jabbing his ass off tying him up by clinching when he gets close and Ortiz getting dispondant and losing on points. This would be a 50 50 fight where the winner would not be obvious.
three in a row for khan, he already tk0 ortiz twice in amateurs
Khan wouldnt bull rush ortiz like he did to paulie, i think khan is quicker and has better boxing skills. ortiz does seem to have better movement but his defence leaves a lot to be desired. there is also an issue with heart, will he be able to tough out a tight fight?
for me no
khan late ko
