He has longer arms, a very fast and effecient jab and is very fast, a little taller and overall the better boxer in my opinion then pacman, he really has a chance to do great things...he has a suspect chin but floyd aint knockin nobody out at 147 in welter anyways so
is this fight between floyd and amirh a better matchup and potentially a better fight then would be the pacman fight???
I agree with the guy who insisted Roach is a master MatchMaker.. I never kept up with Khans career, but after seeing last nights performance I believe he's technically sound. Good jab good speed good power all plus's when boxing. But Paulie doesn't have what it takes to compete with guys that are fast with power. He can't stop them from comming for his head, cus his hands stay low and his power isn't a threat. Perfect fight to showcase Khans talent. Id like to see him fight guys in the division that have power and throw the right hand, before I judge the man.
It doesn't matter how Khan would do against Floyd. Floyd is 33 and probably only going to fight 2 or 3 more times. Khan is 23 and still has guys like Bradley, Alexander, Maidana, and maybe even Berto to deal with at 140. Khan isn't even close to ready for a fighter like Floyd Mayweather anyway. Easy ko victory for Floyd.
if ya mean better chance of outboxing him, yea probably (even still floyd would still counter his ass, he still makes a few mistakes), but better chance of beating him, no way, best chance to beat floyd is take him outta his comfort zone, i.e suffocate him (not literally), manny has the tools for this.

I think Floyd would be able to time and counterpunch Khan better then he would Pacquiao, but that's just my opinion.
ok fair enough, but would you concede this statement if khan fought maidana next and won the fight?
I have said all along that Maidana would be his FIRST real competative fight, one where you would not be certain of the outcome. I don't rate Maidana's boxing skills but I do see the real possibility that he would stalk Khan down and KO him.
When it's funny that the opponent was a top 5 ranked junior welterweight. Far from being a "canned" opponent.
Khan has had competitive fights in the past with willie limond and gomez.

MaminM, Roache's greatest tallent is his match making skills. Malignaggi was the perfect LOW RISK fight for Khan. No matter how I looked at the fight I could not see Khan losing. that is the deffinition of a non competative fight ,one where it is certain there is only one winner. The odds were heavily stacked in Khan's favor to me that is a "canned opponent'.

but they say to beat mayweather u need a descent jab, and that he has...
Seems you are just too butt hurt from last night; Khan wins, Mitch Bitch gets banged out in 3 rounds.
.
I said Michell may have bitten off more than he could chew. When I saw the size difference of the two in the ring I was certain he would lose although before then I thought he might just edge it. I give him credit for just t takeing a hard tough competative fight something I have yet to see with Khan.
If you go through my past posts you will see that I said Malignaggi would lose in a late round stoppage or on points. I never saw that as a competative fight so I am not at all " butt hurt" hurt about Khan winning. As for Mitchell at least he had the guts to go for it. Winning is easy if you get fed canned made to measure opponents.
At the moment no due to lack of experience. He has time. But in general he could cause more problems than Pacquio in the future easily if he improves his fluidity in combinations and marshal a better defence mechanism and possibly throwing punches like Pac in punches with confidence. Anyone who says otherwise has lost the plot
wha do you mean TS?
do you mean Khan-mayweather will be more competitive than pac-mayweather?
or do you mean khan will do better against mayweather than he against pacman?
i've read some of the posts here and most of them thinks you mean it like the first one i've written. but i do understand it like the second one.
and by the way, as a comment to your thread.
that's what i thought also.khan or khan's style and technique will be more competitive against mayweather than against pacman.
pacman will KO khan, that's for sure. and maybe earlier than we thought.
2 to 3 years from maybe i would have changed my mind, but as long as i see khan the way he is right now that would be my statement.
mayweather meanwhile is a very technical fighter. but he's not that much of a puncher. and doesn't finishes his opponent, in a hurry.or trying to push and apply pressure. so i think, khan's jab and overall style would trouble mayweather,
right now he's an easy fight though. he ain't landing over the shoulder roll.

nothing floyd can't figure out in a round or two. one thing i see khan do is jump in with his punches, particularly with his one-two's. i think floyd puts him down witha check hook.
In no way shape or form would i ever say Khan could beat floyd but i do think he could potentially give him problems the jab was great yesterday plus i hate when people compare previous fights to how a different fight with a different opponent would go especially when freddie roach is their trainer, a guy infamous for his gameplans. He said on many occasions that they knew with paulie they could take risks and the gameplan was perfect creating a large distance and then closing in down with the double jab and occasion right hand against mayweather they wouldnt be foolish to try this

They also say to be a real fighter you need to be able to give it,take it and want to win. Khan won't be able to take what comes back.
