Was he over-rated or has he just not recovered mentally from his loses?
When he first burst on to the scene, many raved about this "warrior"/puncher.
But he has lost all his most significant fights and now appears to be turning into a journeyman.
What happened?
Maybe acting proved to be a fatal distraction?
I think his management did not put him in the right fights. He looked to me, very improved in the first two rounds last night but, was Bute the right opponent for him at this stage? Clearly- no.
Miranda should work with his new trainers and stay under the radar for a couple of years while he fights low-to-mid level competition. In any case, I wish him the best; I've been a fan of his since the (Allen) Green fight and still will always be a fan of his...

when he fought Pavlik? been down hill since then:pat:
I doubt he will get a shot at the WBO title. Most people are gunning for the German on the idea that he is the weakest of the champs. Miranda will no doubt be one of the last in line, now.
if you didnt see the technical improvement in miranda tonight, i dont know what you were watching......it wont matter that hes technically better now though, since miranda's punch resistance was shot by pavlik.....thats why hell never beat a skilled champ with power.....and his skilll is still not enough to beat a good champ with no power, aka andre ward....id still pick him over steiglitz though.....
just saying he was never in a position to take that many good fights in a short period of time
the losses to his names are not really something to be that displeased about
questions need to be asked about his promoter or trainers giving him those fights, why would you fight bute after you just lost to ward? these are pound for pound the best fighters in the world
seems like a good bloke, i feel sorry for him a bit
He's limited, he should fight stieglitz or whatever the ****ers name is, he also can fight andrade too. Theirs other fights out their like steiglitz, andrade, or berrios for him. Those will probably be fan-friendly fights and fights he can still win and make decent money from. I'm sure a trainer can make him better, but he has to stop that cocky-bullshit.
He got hurt by a couple of punches in the fight last night and was trying to psyche bute out by acting like they didn't hurt and he paid the price for it. He has to stop that type of cockyness bullshit especially when he knows he has a very talented fighter infront of him. I don't think Miranda is done yet though, as I said theirs fighters at 168 he can beat.
I doubt fighting no names will make any difference. He has had more than his fair share of chances. Beat by Pavlik. Beat by Abraham (twice) Beat by Lucian. That is 4 world title chances. Failed on each occasion.
Do feel for him a bit, but like I said, had the opportunities and has come up short each time.
it's gotten tot he point for me a boxing fan to have sad emotion when he's in the ring. The same with Taylor. Both have great personalities and are great people but enough punishment on yourself is enough. More to life than just boxing.
I feel ya Mann. Was telling my wifeY the same thing. Boi had so much potential. Lack of focus damaged his career. Tisk tisk.
He has potential with his physical talents, he just needed someone to improve his boxing skills, but after this loss he's pretty much done as a top contender. Miranda should have never taken this fight.

Generally strong agressive punchers have a good chin, if they don't this happens. It wasn't like he could change mid-stream and become a stylist. Unfortunate because he was a likable guy too.
Maybe he does need a better team/trainer. But he said he changed trainers and now was boxing better. Well clearly, this is not the case.
Do feel sorry for him.
Just cannot take him seriously anymore.
The pantha is now a wounded animal and its off to the game reserve. The jungle is too wild for this lame cat.
seems like a good guy, sad to see him get KO'd in every fight

he showed improvement in the fight, it wasnt good enough. he then resorted to some dumb sht, got sloppy and was taken out.
he clowned and tried to answer back instead of sticking to the game plan.
he still wouldve lost anyways.
all those wasted yrs of being a 1 dimensional slugger took its toll.
