he doesnt have explosiveness in his punches and seems to be lacking that pop...his KO's mostly come from an accumulation of punches...he doesnt have that kind of 1 punch power that can change the course of a fight in the blink of an eye
im a fan of both, but i expect martinez to UD or possibly even stop pavlik late. martinez WILL get hit, but he will be able to take kellys power. only way he gets KO'd is if he gets hit ALOT in this fight and thats simply not going to happen since martinez is slick and moves around alot...he will only get hit a few times which wont be that big of a deal to him.
martinez wins this easily IMO
His power isn't overrated. If you notice, the 2 guys that beat him barely got a hand laid on them by Pavlik. He needs serious accumulation to do damage and get the KO's in the later rounds.
"He loves tickle fests and pillow fights. His loyalty to his neighborhood and his unassuming, unglamorous lifestyle have earned him praise inside and outside the world of boxing."
-Wikipedia
No lie.
What so Pavlik doesn't have power now? I've said all along Pavlik is flatfooted but seriously the likes of Hopkins, Martinez, are just all wrong for Pavlik. Martinez is always on the move and not easy to catch. Pavlik has great power if he connects so stop with this myth because Martinez knew exactly what he had to do in there.

You got it. Karma your way. I got it right too
Kelly can be a very dangerous puncher once he gets into rhythm and plants his feet....he does pack a huge punch, but his style is more of a grinder as he wears his opponents down and takes them out....there's a reason Hopkins and Martinez had to stay in constant movement to avoid this
Well he did build his KO record blasting out guys in club venues.
So there really isn't a reason to dispute your logic in my opinion.
It's not like he was knocking out Jose Luis Castillos.

pavlik has concussive power. when he hits people they fight differently than they usually do. it's almost like when he hits them, it changes them, and they become somehow different. i can not really explain it, but i have seen all his fights, and his power definately affect his opponents alot. as for him being a 1 punch guy not so much, but his power is 1st class. his speed or lack of it, and his predictibility is what imo keeps him from being a 1 punch guy. they know it's coming, see it, and know his simple style, but it does not matter. he lands, they change. simple as that. obviously except for bhop. he hurts dudes, and is a type of fighter that can ruin careers with they beat downs he can bring if he lands accumulation.
I've noticed that. Especially in the Miranda and Taylor fights.
Pavlik does not have 1-punch KO power. He is however very heavy handed and every punch he throws has momentum.
I think he can punch hard and is definitely heavy handed when he has something to hit. Hopkins and Martinez got off first and prevented Pavlik from setting his own tempo. If not, he can KO any fighter he sets up.

You guys dont see to understand the definition of one punch knockout. Pavlik has power no doubt, his power makes cats hesitate to trade with him. But he doesnt have one punch knockout power. In that Zertuche fight, he ate Pavlik right hands all night until he couldnt eat them anymore. Now if Pavlik had one punch knockout power it wouldnt even of went that long into the deep rounds. First right hand that connects they are sleep.
Example of One punch knockout power:
Julian Jackson - Most of his fights dont even go that far into the deep rounds cause all it took was one punch.
Randall Bailey
Thomas Hearns
Arthur Abraham
Antonio Pitalua
Edison Miranda
These guys when they hit you, you skip the stunned stage and go straight to sleep.
