Morales is on Golpe a Golpe on ESPN Deportes right now. It's amazing to me to see him and Barrera together talking about strategy and acting out techniques. Never thought i would see these guys cool with each other.
I saw the highlights of that fight and caught the last two rounds. And if the fight went like that all the way through, then I don't see how Morales won that fight. It looked to me like Alfaro was imposing his will and clipping him with big shots on a regular basis. Did this fight go that way in the earlier stages too?
I like how you assholes assume that it's all for the money when he's one of the few true boxers that fought for the fans instead for himself.
Listen, you f##ckin hose, I was a huge Jose Luis Castillo fan, but for the last few years he fought for one reason, he needed the damn money. Now Morales needs money, nothing against fighting for money, but he knows the best chance of getting a good payday is against a top name fighter. If you actually think he can beat any of them, aside from JMM, you are crazy.
I'll admit I agree. But someone who fights for a living lives off that belief that they can do it one more time. The last Pac/Morales fight ended with him quiting in three. That was sad I'll admit, I'm not trying to defend it, I'm just admitting I can't honestly say I would be willing to give it up. Doesn't mean it would be a good choice, because it's not. No real fan wants to see him ever step into the ring again. Look at Jose Luis Castillo, it was a shame to the sport to see that happen to him, not to mention that it was against Gomez. It was a shame, but I'm a keyboard warrior, I don't even know what it's like to make 10 grand in one night, so I'm not going to condemn him for trying to make money and recapture glory. Yeah I hope he just lets his legacy sit as it is but it pisses me off how a buch of people on this forum who have never fought act like because they watch boxing they would be able to make a better choice. As a fan I hope he doesn't do it, but I'm not in that position, I don't want to act like I would be able to make the better choice.
Good post...as a fan, I too wish my fav fighters would hang em up before it gets ugly, but I can't condemn them if they choose to go after it, I know I would too if I was in a position to do so. You only live once, your name can live on forever if possible.
The best we can do is hope for their safety
agree. but you should know about it. if you were the elite fighter one time, there is a fan for you. and the fans don't want to see you getting beat as a past-prime fighter..it's a kind of disgrace..you know.

Somebody should tell Erik to hang his gloves. Pacman probably damage his brain that why he thinking this way. Fighting JMM is dangerous already.

I'd love to complain about this and as a fan and a human I should. But if he could fight anyone of those three how much would he make? It's probably as much as I could make in three years, at least and if against Pac probably 15 times as much as I make in a year. I'm sorry but at the end of the day where all wh0res. If someone offered me five grand to go one round with Tyson in his prime I'd take it, and I'm 5'5 weighing 120. It'd only take him 15 seconds but who cares, it's a bad economy and we all need money. Yes I hate it too, but quit hating on a man for making his own descions because none of you would do anything different.

It's unfortunate...now we MIGHT get to see a fight that shoulda happened YEEEEEARS ago that woulda been much better then. Now, it would just be prutally one sided.
He should fight Hatton, it will solve both sides problems.
Its a big name for Hatton to go out on, attracts quite a bit of interested and is very winnable.
Morales is obviously desperate for money and any Hatton fight is very profitable.
I'm not gonna see this.
