Does Allen Green deserve to be the lowest ranked fighter in the super six?

Showtime displayed the odds to win the tournament before saturdays fight, I think they had AA at 1:1, Ward at 8:5, etc, but they had Green ranked last at 50:1. Is this just because he was a replacement? I dont see him being the best fighter of the six, but I sure as hell dont see him being the worst. I think his prime was a few years ago, I think his gripe about being overlooked and avoided was legitimate at the time. He only has one loss, that to Edison Miranda, and he had surgury the next day for something, he was obviously not in top shape for that fight. I think he beats Kessler, Froch, and maybe even Dirrell. Unless fighting a stone statue, Green always has a punchers chance to boot. Feedback?

Looking back about three or four years, Green claimed he could still make weight at 160, he was definetely more deserving of a shot at Taylors title than Cory Spinks or Kassim Ouma. I believe he could have made weight, he fought at SMW one time and came in six pounds under. I feel he was being avoided at the time. This tournament may be his best chance to shine. I hope he makes the most of it.

Green's power is the biggest wild card in this tourny. He can end the fight against every one of these guys. His left hook is dangerous.

It's too bad they couldn't get Bute to take Taylor's place, but Green would've been my second choice. The guy is a little inconsistent, but he does have some serious pop. I just wish he'd quit looking at his damn feet ever 30 seconds. That sh!t will get him killed against Abraham. Yeah AA would decimate him. Arthur Abraham is a REAL boxer/puncher and an elite one at that IMO. He can take a big punch, is quick, powerful, all that. Too much for Green. I don't know where you guys want to rank/rate him. But I think it's a matter of his work ethic. He clearly has (has always had) the physique/skillset etc at the 168 lb weight to really **** people up. I mean which Green shows up? That's what I want to know. I know that lost to Miranda did him in. I think I remember hearing something was wrong with his colon... That sucks He had 80 percent of it removed after. I heard he is not in best condition since he barely made 160 although its a catchweight fight It was 162, but he didn't look very good at the weight.

That sucks Green had his part of his colon removed right after the Miranda fight, he was sick during the fight. Maybe because of the lack of points he could be ranked the lowest, but he is not the worst fighter of the six.

I heard he is not in best condition since he barely made 160 although its a catchweight fight yeah that the was the lowest weight of his career and that's why he would't step down to face Kelly Pavlik. That's what Loew was bating Green with.

Mangler by Brutal KO! The only way Calzaghe can clean his act up is by coming out of retirement, it's ashame I don't think he anticipated being that bored... He's even started picking fights with Froch. Remember he last said someone will have to pay him 10 million dollars to fight again, yeah right. 10 million for a slapfest

Ill agree that it would be better with Bute, but as you said he is tied up with HBO. Sad to say a lot of good fights will never be made because of network issues. Yeah thats been the problem for years HBO signs guys and match them closely hoping to bring them star power to increase revenues then they turn around and get exposed. Andre Berto better sharpen up or else Tim Bradley will out hustle him.

Man, Bute should have been in the tourney... Even when the tournament is over and a winner is crowned, yeah they'll be ranked #1 in the division but people will still say he has to fight Bute... HBO will take the winner of the super six vs Bute

People are the what have you done for me lately type and he didn't look like a world beater against Tarvis Simms. Plus, he's only going to have 2 opportunities to advance to the semifinals, instead of 3. And they will be against Ward and Kessler. Allen Green messed up by not facing Andre Ward when HBO offered it 2 him. Instead he fought on ESPN

Green is going to get screwed over. He is fighting the US, and is going to get his pleas about low blows ignored, and then, no matter how close he is to KO'ing his opponent, the corrupt officials are going to rob him of the victory.

Problem is Green doesnt have the same exposure that the other fighters in the tournament have had so in a way he's relatively unknown to the super-six audience, I think Green can surprise a few people and am going with him over Ward.
