Watching the fight, I noticed it but was in denial (wanting to see em fight more). Lou Dibella confirmed my initial observation.
His wear and tear is pretty much gone.
Only a few punches he took flush and it already caused a lot of bruising.
How many more fights do you think pac has left?
For me, 2 more fights. The rest will be downhill but still good enough to beat good opponents.
Hopefully 1 of those fights are with floyd, win or lose, call it a career.
From a fight fan's selfish perspective, you'd always want him to fight on longer ... w/c includes me.
hear comes the excuses. he fights for his country, not himself. he should stay hungry according to pactard logic.
dude is coming off those peds.
I pity you.
During the fight I definitely thought he looked a little slower in his movements than in previous fights. But when I saw the compubox numbers I kept my thoughts to myself.
I think he's a little slower than he was, but he's still faster than most. His stamina and work rate is as high as ever, however....and his all-round boxing skills have improved.
I think he has two more fights left in him.
Can any one tell me what peds can enhance stamina and is undetectable by urine and blood test after a fight?
EPO........and other blood based dopers.........HBOCS too????
He has slowed down but its more to do with tactics than him slowing down due to wear and tear, He isnt worn out because he hasnt been involve in wars for the last 3 years or so, The last war he was involve in was in the first morales fight and the second JMM fight, Against cotto he beat up cotto and took a few punches for decent pleasure.
Or he could rest during rounds...that's when the midget got tagged by Clottey....but you make a good point.
there are lots of factor to consider in concluding pacquiao is slowing down. hes definitely different from what he used to be, prolly because;
1.) hes matured into a very patient fighter, gone will be the days when he attacks and swing wildly. hes becoming more like a counter puncher with his own workrate.he stalks his prey more intelligently that pounce on them wildly. id say hes more measured now and deliberate, he sets traps before going for the kill unlike before when he goes for the kill that foes falling into traps is only incidental.
2.) he is heavier than he used to. he cannot be expected to bounce and attack his foes like before with the added weight on his upper body.
3.) he is becoming technically adept at applying his speed and power that he is now efficiently moving and effectively fighting in the ring. that slowing down can also be called a graceful economy of movement
the way pacquiao is fighting now should not be seen as slowing down in fact it should be consider on the contrary. hes becoming more deadlier, he is more cunning, imagine a young lion who is earlier runs around after its prey expending unnecessary energy becoming matured hunter stalking its prey and pouncng at the right moment killing its prey in the most economical of movement. thats a matured technically adept fighting machine called pac-man.
slow down on what?
You can make a case Cotto, Hatton , De La Hoya and Clottey never won 1 round against Pacquiao and see that slowing down?
Pac is putting a clinic and a shutout on all of these Welterweights liek they are some sort of bums.
I made a thread about this in the week leading up to the clottey fight. Just from his workout videos in the clottey camp he definitely looked slower than he did for the cotto camp.
I think he is slower because he has gotten bigger but I don't think it's because he is reaching the end of his career. Plus, he hasn't really been in any wars since the 2nd Marquez fight and after that he dominated almost everyone he has fought. I'm sure those easy fights have added some more years to his career.
Regardless, I think he retires after PBF, which could happen early next year.
it's not just the actual fights that you're in. It's the training camps and beatings taken in sparring to prepare for those wars that take more out of you.
lol 1200 punches.....not only that...but what most people who made the observations had one fatal flaw:
• SPEED isn't necessary when an opponent isn't punching.
Meaning speed doesn't need to be applied because there's no urgency to. Pacquiao is basically keeping a pace of volume punches so as not to get tired for the whole 12 rounds.
He wasn't challenged and so there's no need for the speed.
In general, sure he "slowed" (that's relative) down a bit from this 130 lbs days...but he went up in weight considerably and in the WW division his quickness and speed is very much in the "extraordinary" level.
Putting on weight and getting older kinda does that to you.
He's still fast as fck though.
For $MONEY$$

I dont think it matters. Manny wont be fighting in 2 years anyhow. He has made no secret about calling it a day after another fight or two. If he were to beat Floyd he would retire on the spot. Enjoy it while he's here folks. Its gonna be over soon.

He has looked slower in his last two fights. He also doesnt look as sharp. Lucky for him he is great and other then Floyd or Shane, he has nobody to worry about, slowing down or not. And he may be able to beat Shane. Maybe.
My nig, PEDs can enhance your endurance and stamina. Therefore you are able to last longer and outlast your opponent. No PEDs means pac would get tired by the late rounds and get mauled. So u dont know jack shit nig.
