How in the world is he going to land on the greatest defensive fighter in history like Mayweather that boxes?
According to compubox ... Manny landed 20% of his punch but that 20% is greater than the total of Clottey punch
this is not an argument you want to make...
Manny "only landed 20%" and still pitched a shutout. Manny "only landed 20%" and still dominated. you get the point
It's not really easy to get through a turtle defense against a guy who won't hit back. All you can do is pretty much to try to go to the ribs or try to hammer through the guard. It takes two guys to make a fight.
Thank you...

It's because Clottey Turtled. If Mayweather decides to Turtle he's not going to win either.
All Clottey was doing was trying to survive and defend. If you want Mayweather to do this then I can't see him winning. Boxing is about hitting and not being hit..not just the latter. If Floyd decides to hit..then things could possibly go south for him.
I really don't know what will happen, but your simple ass view isn't a good inquiry.
So you think Clotteys 2 handed turtle defense last night was less vulnerable than May's one hand defense?
Mayweather just doesn't get hit. And he uses the shoulder roll. and when Pacquiao goes to the body he'll get tagged ala de la hoya. I think Pacquiao is a great guy for the sport but Mayweather is a much better fighter than anyone else really. One of the best of all time.
pac threw 1200+ punches since he had to punch for the both of them to keep the fight interesting to the fans. very high volume equates to lower connect percentage. in contrast, pac threw around 800 punches in the cotto fight since cotto threw around 600. as a result, pac had a great 49% connect rate in that fight.
clottey threw a total of only 399 punches landing only 108 for 27%. that total 108 punches is only equal to the body punches pac landed on him. a respectable connect percentage for <400 punches is around 40-45%.
just imagine a floyd vs. clottey fight with both only throwing around 400 punches for 12 rounds. that fight would've been extremely boring.

greatest defensive fighter of all time? thanks for the laugh.
if manny throws 1200 punches in a fight against floyd there is no way manny will lose.
I wouldn't advise Manny to even attempt to throw all those punches.

Yeah, this is exactly right.
No its not, thats pretty poor accuracy in boxing
its not poor accuracy if just about all his power shots hits something. what is he supposed to hit when all clottey did was cover up and didnt move his guard at all despite all those body shots?
manny did what he was supposed to do. he executed his game plan and pitched a shutout.
really? since when? please enlighten me
in the DLH fight he fought more on his back foot with more lateral movement.
vs hatton he circled more to his left to nullify hatton's left hook and set up his own left cross.
vs cotto, he suckered cotto into exchanging with him, hurt him in those exchanges. he also threw more shots underneath becuz cotto was susceptible to uppercuts due to his head and glove placement.
Yea and guess what?? He shut him the **** out.. Floyd could suffer the same fate remember thats another guy who doesn't take any risks and just potshots. He's a defense 1st fighter too.
If he fights Mayweather like how he fought Clottey he would get countered and his output rate would drop.
It's like people don't understand that Mayweather would step away from him and has a guard that allows him to actually see and counter efficiently.
Of course Roach and Pacquiao are not stupid they'd approach Mayweather differently.
Clottey and Mayweather are completely different defensibly Clottey guards, Mayweather stays out of range, moves around the ring and such. Another thing people don't seem to understand is that you actually hurt yourself and tire out faster when you miss a punch instead of it being blocked.
i think there's a smaller margin for error when a defensive fighter relies more on his reflexes as opposed to an immovable shell defense.
that margin for error becomes even smaller when the opponent has fast hands, punches in combination, can punch from any angle, has accuracy and has power in both hands.
floyd better hope that his counters do damage becuz on defense he'll have to fight an almost perfect fight in order not to get caught on the tail end of those combos.
Flomos are forgetting Pac always has a different game plan in each fight.
Pacquiao always throws alot of punches, that's his style. To be aggressive and attack, no matter what the game plan is.
