I think Pac has a greater chance of connecting against floyd than he did Clottey. Floyd is more elusive but Clottey is very good at blocking damn near everything. The game changer for me is that when Pac connects with Floyd he won't be able to take them like Clottey. One things for sure, Pac is working on his jab and body work, probably just for Mayweather.
Pac, and im not being disrespectful, doesnt have the intelligence or the patience to work on an up jab and wait for openings, that would also go against what makes him great, which is aggression. Learning a new jab against a guy thats bigger than him means he needs to be tactical, and being tactical NEVER works against mayweather. Me and i think dynamite kid or someone else discussed this.
Pacquiao would need all out aggression against floyd, a jab isnt gonna do it because hes too small.
pac did what he had to do against THAT kind of fighter. the clottey fight doesn't affect my prediction in any way and remains the same.
for now: floyd by a competitive decision.
didn't make castillo look like an amateur and in my opinion he hasn't got much better, more flat footed and throws less punches then he did back then. hell he didnt make hatton look like an amateur until half way through the fight. people have this illusion of floyd being so great and unbeatable, but that is only because floyd has made it that way by fighting easy opponents in big fights. he is very smart when it comes to that. since leaving lightweight he has not fought a really tough top opponent. judah was the best opponent and he had just lost to baldomir. and zab gets ko'd by every other top 5 WW.
Well you could also say that about Pac.
Floyd fought the better version of Oscar and Hatton. Pac fought Cotto who was on the decline and Clottey who was completely suited to his style - as was Hatton and to a certain extent Cotto.
Pac has been very cleverly matched up in his fights since leaving super featherweight.

EPIC FAIL. What did you read about the fight and not watch it. How about you put down the active dislike about Floyd and watch that Hatton fight again. He was snapping Hattons head back from round 1 on. Systematic dismantling. LOL.
reading this stuff makes me wonder.
Floyd by wide UD.
Some people are mentioning that Floyd has briefly had problems with Southpaws before, but on that same token, don't pretend like Pacquiao is a world beater on defense. He's there to be hit and countered. It's a testament to his talent, that very few people can counter him.
Mayweather, too fast,too slick,too skilled.
Untouchable counter puncher that would box circles around pac and make him look like an amateur.

Oscar used body work as well...it didn't work out too well.
I cannot see Manny outboxing Floyd. If he missed 950 punches on a frozen object like Clottey, how the hell is he going to land punches on a guy who keeps distance and has fast movement?
You guys are crossing your fingers hoping Manny will be able to overwhelm a guy who has excellent movement and defense to fall back on.Worst yet,he can/will slow Manny's punch output with distance, can counter at will and take Manny out of his rythym. The problem is,you guys are hoping it is going to be simple-but it wont, and never is against Floyd.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Floyd frustrate, counter, and get to the punch before Manny-perhaps even press for a statement towards the end...
950 punches were not missed. almost every one of those punches were blocked. Big difference, you make it sound like Manny was swinging at the air all night.
Never said Floyd would be simple but I see Pac building up on some tools that will help him out. You say Floyd has his movement and defense to fall back on but you forget Pac has equal movement and Floyd's defense against southpaws just isn't quite as effective. These guys have so many things that neutralize the other's stregths...thats why its a fight everyone wants to see.
