Serious question, how did you guys react when Roy Jones Jr lost his first official fight and got iced by Antonio Tarver? To me, it was and still is the most shocking moment I've ever seen in a fight. I couldn't believe it for days, weeks.

Once you get above 200 lbs anybody can go down at any time... Tyson upset was shocking no doubt
But For Roy--who hardly ever gets touched during a fight-- just had an impact like damn.
Dude....at LHW Roy Was the Best IMO....But Comparing RJJ getting KOd by Tarver to Tyson Getting Beaten By Douglas are completely different Worlds all together....tyson was sweeping up the HW Division one fighter at a time and everyone thought he was Invincible before the douglas fight...then when he got KOd all went down the shitter....where as RJJ had speed and yes he barely got punched but he wasnt as big as tyson you know fame wise
WHAT??????? how could you say such a thing!!!.....that was Ring Magazines Biggest EVER Upset To This Day.....

More shocking then when Tyson got dropped imo

I was half pissed, half sad. It woulda been easier to take if he got dropped by a better fighter than Tarver. That shit was like Tokyo all over again. Roy-Tarver 2 was a tragic day in the life of this boxing fan. :nonono:
are you reffering to Tyson Vs Douglas????
I damn near cried when he got KO'd. I was a huge RJJ fan. I didn't want him to take the 2nd fight anyway. And what made it all worse was how Tarver totally disrespected him when they met at the center of the ring to touch em up with the Ref. "You got any excuses tonight Roy?". Damn that hurt. It's one thing for a guy to talk chit to my favorite boxer in his face. But then knockout him stiff right after. It was devastating.
I couldnt bear it. I love how Roy fights. Im even more shocked when Johnson dominated him.
At the time I said, "Rj got hit by a wild lucky hayemaker" but the Johnson fight was just as brutal to watch, if not more.
Complete domination from round 1 till the end.
I didn't watch it live as it was at 5 in the morning european time and i had things to do the day after. First read about it in an article. I couldn't belive it. It was a sad day, end of an era.
I couldn't believe it, I figured the first fight struggles were because of the obvious trouble he had making the weight. That fight is when I knew Jones would never be the same RJ ever again.
I got over it the next day because that stuff happens in boxing but I can remember the initial reaction very clearly. It was "HOLY SHIT!" when he got hit and went down then a "DAMN!" when it was stopped. Never forget it.
it was the earliest i ever left a house party....went home and turned off my phone...smoked an 8th and drank a 24pack....i hate tarver
indeed. i hate him too.
laugh at the people saying lucky shot.. tarver won fair and square. just admit it. i like rjj and he still has a better resume than tarver but trver won 2 out of 3 and proved he was better at the time
I loved it. Always liked Tarver
