When they aren't on top anymore, when they are at the tail end of their career? After they have been knocked out, coming off losses, over the hill... still trying to achieve one more good win even though it's a long shot... will you still support them? Will you still root for them?
Or will you jump ship because it's the easy thing to do?
Ive been a fan of Miranda before anyone on this board knew his name. I have been to each and everyone of his fights and will be there until the day he retires. He has come from nothing, became one of the biggest hypes in boxing and now, to me, is very underrated. I know he has his limitation and may never be a champ. But I will be a fan forever and have been from the time I first saw him.
I have always and will always support my favorite fighters till the end and forever.
El Puas Olivares: I felt bad when he lost to Arguello.
Julio Cesar Chavez: I was so ****ing mad for the way he ****ed up his career at the end of it.
Juan Manuel “Dinamita” Marquez: I felt so sad for the way and the circumstances of his last lost.
I'll support my favorite fighters even if they're past prime or in a slump (I'm still a fan of Edison Miranda even though he's been beat quite a few times). However, I won't support any fighters who cheat (I like Margarito and was rooting for him against Cotto but jumped ship after he got busted)...
Just look at my sig.
Froch's zero will go during this super-six series i have no doubts, but i've been there from the beginning with him, and i mean from his first professional fight.
Arce, Rafa Marquez and Morales are all favourites of mine that need to leave the sport for their own safety, yet i will fully support them all in their respected fights this year. Mexican warriors at their finest.
Naz, Benn, Duran, Frazier all had losses, and some fighters were more controversial then others, but i'll always defend and stand by the men that got me into the sport in the first place.
That depends on what you mean. Like flomos will stick by their loverboy Floyd no matter what kind of bullshit contradictions he comes up with and no matter how many fighters he ducks. As far as sticking by your fighter after a loss and whatever I think alot of people will. Hatton and Cotto are two of my favorites and they both have been laid out twice now in brutal fashion.
Well Tito will always be my favorite and I always in every return he made. I was there rooting for him... Even if he comesback out of retirement I will be there supporting him...
Yeah for sure.
Roy is my favourite current fighter and whilst I don't think he should be fighting anymore I will still watch all of his fights and support him all the way.
I will not stop supporting Roy. As long as he want's to fight i will support him and hope that he still can find some way to win.
My second favorite active fighter is Cotto. Like Roy he always puts on a good show. He has had a bad year but i think he still might have a lot to give.
True fans stay by the fighter they support. I don't like disloyal people who just supports someone when they are on top or when it is the popular thing to do. Thats a sign of mental weakness.
I already have.
Wladimir Klitschko has been my favorite fighter since I started following boxing and I stuck with him when he lost to Sanders and Brewster believing that he would come back even better than before and he did.
I'm just glad my favorite fighter isn't someone like Roy Jones who just keeps embarrassing himself and all his supporters everytime he fights. He has no chance for the redemption that Klitschko accomplished yet keeps going anyway.
I would not support Wlad if he kept fighting way past his best and started losing to guys like Ray Austin who he would have knocked out with one hand in his prime. I'm happy though that my favorite fighter will never put me through that. He will retire on top and he will stay retired.
Then you're not a real fan of Wladimir....IMHO....
You support him only thru his prime years....but when he becomes old and shot (as all of us do) and he continued to fight...no more support? You should remember him as a fighter who dam near KOd every fighter in front of him and gave the younger cats a chance in the spotlight when he was past it...("passing the torch") and I see nothing wrong with "if a fighter thinks he can still fight...let him do it". I think that's called "realization"......some fighters need that (Evander Hollyfield). :beerchug:
Do people who love Jordan even think twice about his Washington Wizard days?

until the fukking brakes fall off.
