Assuming he gets past his shoulder injury (which will not be easy) how far do you think he can go? I used to hate the guy but he matured into one of the most exciting fighters today. He can pick his spots to box or brawl it up, and both with style
I personally think if he gets back to 100%, he will give Dawson all he can handle. He is far from predictable in there and seems to be getting more confident every fight. It is like he has not reached his peak yet.
A loss like Pascal's to Froch usually affects a fighter one of two ways:
Either he goes downhill from there or it somehow matures him, making him more patient, he becomes a better fighter in some ways. This is what I believe happened to Pascal.
Everyone thinks Dawson will beat him easily, I don't think so. Dawson is very susceptable to the right hand and Pascal is fast and quick. I see him being able to get to Dawson. How Dawson will hold up after getting hit flush only time will tell. In the first Johnson fight he was rocked badly twice. He was saved by the bell the first time and weathered the storm the second time.
Pascal isn't old like Johnson so I would expect him to be able to take advantage of such openings.
I think the only question is how will Pascal come back from the bad shoulder. Shoulders never get back to how they were, they only get worse and deteriorate more.
A shoulder problem basically ruined Forrests career. Only time will tell if it does the same to Pascal.
I question his chin to. Have you noticed how he never commits himself when he needs to keep the pressure on the opponent? he is always half way in and half way being overly cautious.
Least you are getting to see Sonsona. I love watching this kid fight.
Well I am not near Quebec so I will not get to see him either!hehe
I cannot say I am impressed. He has talent, speed and skills, but something is missing with him. He lacks durability and confidence. He had confidence before, but I think he needs more time to get back to where he was. I will not write him off yet, but he just seems shaky now.

deanrw, what you make of Molitor since his comeback ?

He is not Arturo Gatti, but when you watch him fight, it is almost like Arturo gave Pascal the same type of fighting spirit. Watching him fight wounded and still throwing that right hand in pain brought back some memories of Arturo.
It must be the Montreal water!hehe

I love the guy, honestly never heard of him prior to the Froch fight but was rooting for him all the way when I was watching it.
He comes in shape, has good skills, and is exciting to watch. Also great that he ****ing loves a tear up. We need more people like him.
I REALLY want him to rematch Froch (Froch may be eager for belts in two weights etc), and I think Pascal would take him out late this time.

Pascal is a exciting naturaly talented fighter. He was a standout Amateur, winning the 2002 Commonwealth Games aswell as going to the 2004 Olympic Games and the 2001 World Amateur Championships. He also won numerous Canadian national titles.
He claims he has based his style on Roy Jones Jr. And at times there are similarities. His fight with Carl Froch was highly exciting back and forth encouter, which he just come up short in.
But since his move to 175lb Pascal has never looked better. His win over the well schooled unbeaten Adrian Diaconu was impressive as was his win in the rematch. He has now made 2 defences of his WBC Title.
But I have my douts as to wheather he can dominate the division, especailly when Chad Dawson is in it. But I expect more excting performances form Pascal and most likely a few more defences in his homeland Canada were he is a huge draw. There are also some very interesting fights for him at 175lb.
Fights with the likes of Chad Dawson, Tavoris Cloud, Glen Johnson, and even maybe a rematch with Carl Froch down the road would be highly interesting affairs.
But I hope the shoulder injuries don't stall his career. Serious shoulder injuries can ruin a career's as they have done in the past and can really stall a career.
He's great, but his reckless antics in the ring (albeit cool to watch) will be his downfall over an equally fast Dawson or constantly-punching Cloud.
With that said, he's a breath of fresh air at 175. I can't wait to see him back.
He is a good game fighter. He came to terms with losing his unbeaten record very easily it seems and losing his first World Title attempt with the loss to Froch and bounced back. He has a great chin and plenty of heart and will get better. He will give Dawson a great fight but I don't see him winning that one but I do see him getting a Title back again at some point should he lose to Dawson.
I think he's a good, exciting fighter, but not one that will one day rule LHW.
IMO he makes to many mistakes like backing up with his hands down and squaring himself up. He has greating natural physical abilities, but goes to war too much IMO. I would also like to see him pick his shots better.
I would favor both Cloud and Dawson over him.
Most exciting fighter in the sport as far as I'm concerned. The guy is consistently entertaining and always gives it his all.He can move and box quite well and he has that edge to him where he can immediately switch gears and turns a boxing match into an all out war.
Some guys go into a shell when they get clocked,Pascal just fires back.
It will be interesting to see how Dawson deals with such a livewire,I think he will but Pascal just offers a little something more than Tarver and Johnson IMO.
Dawson would beat him IMO. Chad has more technical skills and now that Chad added some more discipline to his game, I don't see Pascal winning.
He's a good fighter though.
