ATG at Lightweight, as in top 20, even top 10 , yes. ATG as in Top 25, top 30, even top 50 p4p of all time, no.
But what do I know, I like Kelly Pavlik:fest30:
I think he is borderline ATG LW. But, he is not in my top 100 all time P4P. And, I only consider top 50 ATG anyways so the answer is not. But, if he beats Berto, Pac, Floyd, and P-Will. You could make an argument of him belonging in the top 50
your fucking with us right?
It shouldn't be a question, but Mosley mismanaged his career so much it is a question. Just look at what the guy did in the ring and what a talent he was and he is an ATG.
Simple question.
Hell if you rate Calzaghe as an HoFer then yes! But in a perfect world no, he's a gatekeeper though. ATG material go up in weight more than Mosley was able to successfully. I think Oscar has a better resume.
Yes he is. He's been consistent during his whole career, had a great run from LW to JrMW, has a great resume and all the skills, he's willing to fight anyone.
I don't go in for these top-something-or-other lists - mainly because I find such impossible to attempt without going around in endless circles scribbling down names and then erasing them. But SSM is easily one of the best fighters I've seen in the last 25 years. As far as attributes go he pretty much has them all. He's an excellent technician who can box beautifully when he needs to. Though he can also go on the offensive with some serious pop in either hand, as was evidenced in the Margarito fight. To use a worn out phrase - he's the complete fighter.
But most of all, he has the heart and mind of a champion. Even toward the twilight of his career he's prepared to go in with the best fighters and roll them over. He just wants to win it more than the other guy.
Mosely is def an ATG.
But he only has himself to blame why this is left to debate as far as how his career has been managed. But hindsight is clear sight
yeah good point man, imo jmm and ssm are two of my favourite fighters but both of them have made decisions that they look back on and regret.
ssm took on two guys who everyone else was staying away from for a reason. its just unfortunate that he found out it out the hard way. ssm has beat mayorga, vargas, prime DLH (x2), margarito and collazo that makes him a nailed on HOF but if he hadn't got the losses to VF and WW then he could sail into the top 50 imo (even with the cotto loss).
How can people say no?!?
ATG is basically the top 100 of all time. So you people are saying Shane doesn't even get a 99 spot? LMAO.
Look at his resume.
Realize the only people he really lost too were much bigger than him:
Of his 5 losses 2 were from Winky at 154 and 2 were against Forrest who was also just too big for him. And his cotto loss was a very close fight that could have gone either way.
Then consider his wins over:
Antonio Margarito
Ricardo Mayorga
Luis Collazo
Oscar De La Hoya
Fernando Vargas (twice)
Jose Luis Cruz
David Estrada
Shannan Taylor
Jesse James Leija
Antonio Diaz
Philip Holiday
Golden Johnson (lol)
i said no because IMO ATG is top 20 or so...

boxin is a subjectiv drama.
count him into disputed ATGlist or just :bryce:
ATG is some freaky shit baised on nuttin, there no official list of boxing All-time-greats.
Sugar Shane is a This-time-great and an ALL-time-greeeat 4 me <3
