Floyd Demostrating Techniques
I keep telling people that Floyd would even beat Pac toe to toe because its not all about power. His technique in the pocket is how he beats guys toe to toe. We all know that he's the smartest fighter out there. Watch his D in that 1st vid at the 3:17 mark

Roach has said that they plan to setup traps. Because he wont be able to do what he did to Cotto against PBF. Cotto was winning against pac until pac started to go underaneath him late RD 2. Mayweather's D won't give such openings as his guard is much lower than Cotto.
This might mean something, had Pacquiao not given the first round away (and part of the second).

Those techniques will not work if you are in front of someone who has fast and powerful hands.. Pacquiao's punches are out of standard and coming from different angles.. Floyd may block 70% of it but the other 30% that hits Floyd will be enough to give him trouble... Those are good for beginners who are mastering their skills..
The uppercut that dropped Cotto was coming from inside angle and Cotto was supposed to blok straight punch from outside...

Very impressive shit. :boxing:
Well, IMO, pac can get through it but not that easy. Pbf could easily contain orthodox offense. He trained his whole life for it. Those unorthodox off-angle combination could give him fits. We'll see how he handles it.

I think Mayweather will treat to beat him to the punch than hold on fast. So pac might be able to sneak a few uppers in at close proximity. PBF also does well in avoding getting hit with combos, if u put the JMM fight in slow motion there are times when JMM is blocked from getting the 2nd or 3rd punch in.
Another big difference is that when pac misses a punch PBF will make him pay for it. There were a few occassions in which Cotto made PBF miss but he never countered or made him pay. There was one moment where pac was really open and cotto didnt strike back.
IMHO the issue in the fight is if PBF can take the blows. If he can handle the power than he can win by outboxing. But it remains to be seen as opponents like JMM can win the boxing match but lose due to getting dropped a few times.
i've seen that video many times, but what you dont get is, how the **** is that shit gonna work when the guy your fighting isnt staying in the pocket with you, and coming from the sides. You think this is gonna be gatti-ward? Floyd isnt gonna have time like he usually does to use that effectively. Floyd gonna have his head in the air cuz manny's punches are gonna come too quick. Floyd can do that against zab n them but not 2pacquiao
floyd doesn't throw enough punches... he will get outworked.
If you think Manny will win on points against Floyd you are on crack. I will bet every point I have that Manny wont win on points. He may get to Floyd and KO him (I doubt it but with someone who has the speed and power of Manny you cant rule it out) but he isnt going to win on points by simply out throwing Floyd. Floyd will do his usual "feeling out" for a round or two and then Manny is going to start getting caught. The more reckless he throws the more he will get caught.
i remember this video, i still have it on my hard drive when the episode happened. very few fighters ever explain much on technique, hopkins was also doing that in the ring awhile bak
these are the types of post smart people do not make.
Even if Mayweather wins ever round against Pacquiao he still wouldnt take as much punishment as he did against Cotto. So in that sense...yes...he can get through it easily.

good find dlt---although i have watched those so many times---i always enjoy floyd counterng off of the block---which is what i have put in so many of my posts---he does it so well---which is why he hides his right hand so well----no fighter in boxing has the skills floyd does overall---no fighter--floyd will make manny look so foolish---fighting him in the pocket---fighting him off of the ropes---it won't matter--floyd will dust this kid---manny needs to figure out what round he wants to go down in---and figure it out fast---
and when i say he hides his right hand well, i mean, not only hiding it behind his lead shoulder, but blocking a jab down and then snapping a right hand over it--throwing his opponent off with it---becuse other fighters would just block and square up again---not floyd--he slaps the jab down, then right afterwards, throws a righ hand lead---he did it against corley a l lot----and when he hide it behind his lead shoulder, he blocks a punch with his lead shoulder and then throws either a hook or an uppercut right aftrwards---it's a rare trait in fighters today---floyd patterson did this a lot----floyd is the truth man---textbook thinking man's fighter---he's brilliant in the ring---
