I just saying, Floyd is gonna be a tough fight, so training for a Mayweather fight and running for the PI senate/congress/watever isn't the smartest idea IMHO.
having said that, I think Pac should accept 50/50, but should push the date until after the political campaign.
i said this about ricky hatton when he was lineal champion and refused to fight the other top guys in his division aside from carlos maussa.
when you are p4p number 1 in the world, or in hattons case, lineal champ of a division and you are in youre prime, you hold a title that says that you already have the skills and the ability that says you are ready. More is expected of you when youre number 1. Cotto signed for pac just weeks after a 12 round war with joshua clottey. Because he knows as a top fighter, alot is expected of him.
Elections mean sh!t in all honesty, if youre a politician then it matters, but you are a top level fighter, fighting is what you should be concentrating on. You cant be good at both, pick on and run with it, because in the end you are going to falter with one of the two.
People expected alot when mayweather was number 1, a neverending stream of opponents year after year, it was somewhat fair to hold him to that, because he held a p4p title that alot was expected out of him, pac is in that same position. There is always another threat, mayweather is that threat, fukk politics.
I agree with the politics part, Pac has no business there while he is a Pro boxer. But there is no stopping him especially when he's the one wielding that much money, the people 'round him just wouldn't be able to say it in his face. Best thing to do is to not vote for him at all.
As for the pound for pound and take on all comers expectation of yours, yes he should take on all comers, but that don't mean at such a short period. a month or so won't hurt, as long as the fight takes place, as long as prime vs prime.
Like I said before, a win over a well prepared Pacman will silence critics.
its not that simple..it was as simple as "50/50 the fight gets made"
it was as simple as "may is the election so we want to fight in March, but Floyd doesn't want to fight in March."
Floyd agrees and those simple things FLEW out of the window. now pac fans are stuck with a bunch of excuses.
Yeah i kinda think Roach was running his mouth on that one, but that's just me.
Pac hasn't spoken to the local media on when he wants it, neither has arum told anyone what Pac has decided.
As a fan i would like to get him to sign it asap, but these days i don't know what he'll do, the only constant being his political ambition.
Not really defending the Pacman, just thinking that he wants to ensure both a successful campaign and bout, i mean, you would try to give due attention to both difficult targets, so scheduling them apart would be logical.
Again, not defending their fight date flip flopping, only thinking why it would only make sense to schedule the fight after the elecion.
Pacquiao needs to concentrate on boxing. He can get into politics after he retires. What type of politician could he be if he has to spend months in the gym?
March is the date HBO gave pac I think.
That's no excuse. Read here:
Sources have said that Mayweather already agreed to a March 13 fight. But, sources within Pacquiao's camp indicate that he might not fight until after the May elections in the Philippines. Manny will be running for a congressional seat in the country. HBO is willing to show the fight on any date possible.

I think Pullcounter just wants to say that its not good for Pac (nor anyone else) to do 2 big things at almost the same time.

The need for a well prepared Pacquiao is a testament to what kind of a fighter Floyd is.
A well prepared Pac would be a good win for Floyd, than a rushed one, right Flomos?

To put things in perspective for the Flomos:
The elections cannot be postponed. Pac would have to wait another three years if he misses this one.
The fight can be moved. if they miss the march date, no big deal, its not like the wait would be years like the elections.
Simple enough?

I just saying, Floyd is gonna be a tough fight, so training for a Mayweather fight and running for the PI senate/congress/watever isn't the smartest idea IMHO.
having said that, I think Pac should accept 50/50, but should push the date until after the political campaign.
Seems you have toned down youre asinine rhetoric and have returned to making actual topics.
Wait, Pull... What Mayweather fight are you talking about? The one that Mayweather would never accept? Because he's shook, right?
Too bad nobody gives a shit what you think! Where's all the shit talking bout Floyd not wanting to fight Pac
LOL :haha:

were you one of the ones talking about how Floyd didn't want to fight in March after Roach spoke out?
Well, Roach just spoke out about March 13th and he said that was too quick and Manny ear needs to heal...you agree with that?
F U. Pacquiao wanted it in March. They were hoping Mayweather would decline the date and the 50/50. HE DIDN'T. Now they are exposed as never wanting the fight in the first place. Mayweather doesn't take tune ups, ever. He realizes that taking a tune up will only increase Roach's feedback on him so he won't do that. Pacquiao better take the original date and split HE chose and STFU. Not ready? These are fighters, not cry babies!! No one's life is perfect.

I don't know how you can concentrate 100% on the biggest fight of your life when you have an election less than 2 weeks later... Some of his attention IS going to be taken away because of it.
I don't understand why he can't wait to run later.. he's 30 and in the prime of his life, the biggest name in the sport right now.. the best fighter in the world with the biggest fight in the history knocking at his door. This is one time I would like to see Pacquiao concentrate solely on boxing. He can ALWAYS run for elections. he can't ALWAYS have the biggest fight in the history of the sport knocking at his door.
But I am not Pacquiao, so I can't speak for him.
