What was Hatton's best weight?
Hatton was healthy at WW for his fight with Floyd. The first time he fought at WW he wasn't because he increased his weight to be a full WW: Instead of being 149+ on fight-night like his JrWW bouts, Ricky increased his weight to be over 150 on fight-night...I think 158??? was the fight-time weight.
So in other words, when he fought Floyd, he didn't make the same mistake and instead of showing up like a full WW...all he did was show up at his normal "fight-time" weight that he would have weighed during his JrWW bouts.
He doesn't show up at 140 on fight-night when he fights at JrWW.
If Hatton wanted to fight Floyd at JrWW, he could have done it while Floyd was a JrWW and asking him for a fight.
In the end, you had two fighters that didn't have to drain themselves for the scales and could show up healthy.
Oscar: Healthy at 154...not so healthy at 147.
JMM: Pac fought the better version for weight.
2-1 in Floyd's favor
Manny.
Floyd has the edge on him, having fought a game Oscar at 154, instead of the zombie Pac fought at 147.
But Pac fought Ricky at his optimal weight of 140, and he didn't drag Marquez up 2 divisions to fight him, either.
its a loaded question..
but Pac, if you want to get technical
The key about this to me is Hatton. DLH was obviously at a better weight against Floyd, and JMM was obviously at a better weight against Pac. But Hatton I feel was a better fighter when he fought Floyd, irrespective of weight issues.
JMM obviously wasnt at his best weight against floyd.
But against hatton, i dont give him a pass, mostly because both floyd and hatton came from 140, a division which hattons himself and his own father admitted they werent ready for him, even when he was the undisputed champ at that weight. Regardless, Hatton didint look any slower, or any less strong at 147, the idea of this "pac fought hatton at his weight" is redundant since against floyd, he came in the same weight he would have if they fought at 140. Its actually better for him since he didint have to cut as much weight. Mayweather isnt this giant welterweight, and both of them had no less than 2 years ago, been at the same weight either way.
I remember the night before that fight "ricky is looking so strong, ricky is so much better prepared than when he fought collazo, mayweather will buckle under the pressure" etc
Obviously oscar taking on floyd at the same weight he fought mosley/vargas/mayorga was MUCH better than draining himself and staying at 147, that was just stupid on his end.
they are both tied.
mayweather fought jmm out of his element(at least he still live)
pac fought DLH out of his element(completely dead)
dont act like hatton at welter weight was a shit move by mayweather. mayweather must have weighed 149 that night. hatton weighed 152 for the pac fight. and again, hatton was a former welter weight champion.
which weight class has hatton been more successful in?
they are both tied.

What was Hatton's best weight?
140 but i still dont think floyd beating him was a big win or for manny because he was overated and had lost to collazo in my opinion.but at 147 fighting floyd was better then a 140 fighting manny after the floyd lost
de la hoya was far better at 154 for floyd
hatton was undefeated not his weight but hadnt lost. Also after the floyd fight hatton was saved by the hometown ref vs lozcano
manny fought a better jmm and lost twice
so floyd
