Pacquiao is incredible, but Mayweather will beat him

It amazes me how easily so called boxing fans are easily picking FMJ to win (fanboys i can understand) When has Floyd really beat a good opponent and looked as good as Pac beating him. Floyd has been hit before by lesser opponents, and never really hurt anyone of significance within the last 5 years.

How in any way can u critisise floyd if he wins the fight on the back peddal, hell even cotto knew he couldn't go toe to toe with pacquiao. You ever heard of ring intelligence, if u can't win a slug fest you move dodge and strike. I recon if pacquiao doesn't K.O floyd which is likely considering floyd is the best defensive fighter in boxing right now i can see mayweather winning by D.

I think Floyd wins. He is more athletic... That comment is true if the other person wasn't pac. lol...Pac has a work ethic that is highly regarded...and confirmed as of 11/14/2009.

There's no question Pacquiao is an amazing fighter and a top 20 ATG at the very least. His speed, power, and chin have all gotten better as he's gone up the scales, and he truly deserves the distinction of P4P #1. That being said, I don't see him beating Floyd Mayweather. Floyd's ring smarts, reflexes, and boxing ability are just too much for Manny. The only Way Pac beats him is if Floyd has trouble with the southpaw stance. Floyds defensive maneuvers really only work against an orthodox fighter. That said Floyd has a longer reach. Pacquiao needs to box, and really, really attack when Floyd hit's the ropes. Pacquiao is good in the middle of the ring but Floyd is also good and jumping out of the way. This is just an amazing fight. The one thing I will say though is, Floyd is not going to hurt Pacquiao at any stage of the fight.

Dan, Great summary on Floyd, everyone knows how Floyd figh, so with that being said, let's look at Pac has done to a prime, "stronger", "bigger", technical Cotto. Cotto proved in the first 4 or 5 rounds (despite knock downs) that he can box Pac. That Jab was the ideal weapon as many people predicted it to be. With all respect to Pac, I believe Cotto lost his composure and couldn't re-establish himself because of Pressure. That same pressure is what will most likely be the issue in Floyd's case. Cotto too is a ring savvy boxer with good reflex and "above great" boxing ability. I cannot begin to predict who would win the fight, but to say that it's TOO much for Manny is a bold statement that at this point fresh from seeing the Pac/Cotto fight, is too finite. I think Pac has the speed, reflexes, angles, and volume to potentially outwork, outpace, and outfight Floyd...and I didn't even mention Roach as a great trainer. So...with that being said...Pac has a pretty damn good chance at Mayweather. We will see...if this fight ever happens. I'm sure Floyd peeps can debate this...I can actually come up with a rebuttle...but I'll let them do that lol...Later peeps.

Paquioa's biggest flaw IMO is that he's susceptible to the counter punch. Marquez did it, and so did Cotto to an extent. Maywetaher's a better counter puncher then Marquez and Cotto IMO.

While a lot of Pachuggers will disagree-Mayweather is the favourite. Hate all you want--there comes a time when technical skills come into play when the opponent has similar physical attributes with the other fighter.

How?????????????? After seeing pac walking through cotto's best punches (who I believe hits at least as hard as PBF) I don't see mayweather hurting the Pacman. Therefore what you would see is a 12 round onslaught of speed, aggression and punches at a rate that PBF won't be able to handle. Remember that Pac doesn't gas (like oscar did) and keep up the relentless pace up for the whole fight which unfortunately i can't see floyd dealing with.

Floyd will run and potshot a lot, so there's a chance he'll win a close decision. But I have a feeling Manny is so fast he'll catch him with something good, and Floyd will hit the canvas. Im 50/50 if Floyd dont return to throwing combos how does he win?? he wont win shit with pot shotting vs Pac, he will just be outworked. Mayweather will win by making Manny miss and making him pay.

How can anyone be so certain? When was the last time Mayweather fought someone like Pacquiao? When was the last time Pacquiao fought someone like Mayweather? Neither haven't fought anyone even CLOSE to the other guy, so again, it's impossible to really predict this fight. Just wait and see No one can be certain, but that's the point of a prediction, no? If we knew what was going to happen there'd be no point to the fight. But we don't, so we judge the fight by what we know and make predictions. I predict Mayweather by a close but clear UD.

50/50...Pacquiao has what it takes. There's definitely a chance, but look what a counter puncher like Marquez did to Pacquaio. What would a defensive genius and counter puncher of Mayweather's caliber do?

I'm favoring Floyd, but there are certain elements to Pacquiao's style that can give Floyd problems and make him uncormfortable. It works both ways though.
