No way you can call this an exhibition fight. That's an outrage. Former P4P number 1, and FORMER 130 lber Floyd Mayweather Jr, against current number 2 P4P, and FORMER 130 lber, Juan Manuel Marquez. These guys are basically twins!
um.... no.
I barely chime in on here but thats the only thing I hear from you... You will stick your tongue in your ass when the dust settles and pacquaio remnants are in the air :boxing:
hmmm... maybe you shouldn't chime in after all.
if cotto takes another margo like beating he needs to retire. there is no excuse for cotto getting his ass kicked by a former 106 lber.

If Pacquiao flusters Cotto and makes him look average en route to a victorious decision, I won't be hugely surprised. But if he stops him with one shot or a gives him a Margarito-like beating, I'll be more shocked than I was after the Hatton KO. :shk1:
yes, pbf vs jmm was an exhibition... it meant absolutely nothing.

or think way back when during the Pac-JMM 1 fight when Cotto fought on the undercard that they would be fighting each other one day.
Yeah, that shit is crazy. Considering Pacquiao's controversial draw over Marquez, people probably wouldn't expect to be #1 P4P either.
The I suppose we can agree that Mayweather beating JMM isn't a big deal, because Mayweather is, after all, a "former" 130 pounder.

Thanks, I think this will be an awesome fight as long as it goes past five rounds :D.
I was thinking the other day, few would have imagined little Pacquiao coming up in weight to fight a terminator like Cotto. When Pacquiao beat David Diaz a Pac-Cotto thread was made, and even die hard Pac fans said, Cotto would crush him. Opinions have changed like crazy, just a year after.

hence "former" and not "current"

I believe so, too, that Cotto will crash Pac. But amazingly opinions changed in less than a year. That's fast...
But we'll see on Nov. 14th if Pac will still dominate. It will be a damn hard one.
Cotto is a monster at WW....
I agree that Pac could stop cotto, but I doubt it would be in the way Marg broke him down. excellent post, green k comin' your way.

Any speculation towards Pac-Cotto is hypothetical right now, but I don't think Pacquiao stopping Cotto is out of the question. Still, Cotto is a pretty hard guy to drop with punches, even Torres pretty much pulled him down.
I don't think Cotto is going to beat Pacquiao like Morales (1), because Pacquiao has gotten a lot better in every way since then. I don't think Pacquiao will be engaging with Cotto toe-to-toe too much, unless he hurts him.

Enough with the "former 106 lber" bullshit. Do you even realize how long ago that was?
I think it was just a hypothetical, I don't think it would actually happen but damn Pac would be an even bigger beast in my book if it were to happen.
Here's another question, what if Cotto takes it to Pac, Morales style.

I favor Cotto to win this fight and i think that if Pac is gonna have a chance to win he must use his footwork all the time to keep Cotto on a distance. If Pac would make it a fight and succed in beating up Cotto like Margarito it would be a huge achievment.
