You tell me how different he looks compared to the one who moved up in weight. Describe his performance. Just don't blink during the video.
Sometimes one step makes a difference in who's victorious in a race.
I say the same thing can be said about boxing. One step can be the difference from hitting someone and avoiding getting hit. which will lead to a defeat or a win. Viva Marquez!

Mayweathers SPEED Killed Marquez...NOT his SIZE?
Marquez lost his own speed and still Mayweather extra weight was probably what gave him the extra strength to knockdown Marquez.
If he thinks its an excuse he should go on and fight Paul Williams at 160 and watch how not only will Floyd will be the weaker fighter, but the slower one. That's assuming he makes the right weight. Marquez was 36 and moved up in weight very fast.
He looked much greater than Jose Luis Castillo and you all know what he did against Floyd. I would've love to see Mayweather stick to the light weights to fight the Barreras, Morales, but we didn't even get to see him fight Casamayor, Freitas or even Kosta Tszyu, because he kept moving in weight without ever conquering a division. Sure he won a title, but not by fighting the top rank fighters from the division. MARQUEZ
JMM is an awesome fighter, but anyone who thinks he's anywhere near the same fighter at 147 as say 126-130 is smoking crack or a Mayweather nuthugger lol.
is said it before and I'll say it again...
JMM can beat some WWs, but only if he cherrypicks.... other than that, he has no business at WW.
JMM was his best at 126-130... at 135 he looked good against a ruined Diaz and a shot Casamayor... still good wins, but nothing to prepare you for Pretty Gay Floyd or any elite WW.
Yeah, that's why I'm concerned about his current status, you know, as you said being 36 doesn't help, so what he will do? If he goes back to 135 he might have problems and he' not even a Jr.Welter. A fight with Hatton seems fair but I don't like to see him above the 135 limit.
I say he should just try to get more comfortable with the weight his in and see whats happens. If Pacquiao loses and Mayweather ends up fighting Cotto. Marquez might have a chance for his trilogy against Pac. And thats a fight I know he wants.
It might be at 140 and Marquez can come around 138.
I just feel he wants another crack at Pac and if Pac can't beat Cotto, Marquez wish might come true.
I say the video speaks for it self. There's no way he's been the same fighter since moving up in weight. Being 36 doesn't help either. There's a reason people retire within age, because there not the same. Marquez might have still some left in the tank, but its lot harder when your older and you're not used to being in a certain weight. He was truly amazing.

Mayweather is the winner. He beats Marquez. Let's move on. He's a thing of the past.
O.k I don't want to move on. And he's not the past, but a present Legend, A future Hall of Famer and One Real Brave Warrior that has guts that others only dream of. If you want to move on just stay off the thread.
I was going to post the same exact thing, but like you I didn't feel like it. I agree though that Mayweather didn't fight the real Marquez. Is Holmes great because he beat Ali? Hell nah

I was just about to make this same exact thread lol.
Really? what a coincidence. It's happen to me too. But I have no interest in making threads like I use too.
Marquez might of pulled it off better if he moved up slowly or if he was around 28 years old like Pac man. It isn't easy for a 36 year old fighter, but I think it was a risk he felt worth taking. Not just for a Pac rematch, but for some more money. sure he couldn't force Mayweather to make 140 pounds that be too much to ask.
But by seeing these videos you can tell he had what it takes to beat Mayweather in his real weight class. Just take a look he looks more impressive than Jose Luis Castillo and you all know how good of a fight Castillo had with Floyd. I really believed this Juan Manuel Marquez would've beaten Floyd.
As far as his transition from LW to WW, it was obvious. JMM had less handspeed, less footspeed, slower reflexes (defense and counterpunchin), bad balance, less punch resistance, and less power. In short he had no business at WW and anybody who thought he did was fuckin kiddin themselves.
