He,s not talking folks now what do that mean??? Now we all know he went into camp very early so theres no excuses... Theres 10 days to go and he looks to me big as hell, so can anyone looking at his latest pics give a guess of what you might think he weighs right now???
Bottom line is that none of you, any of you, can tell what weight he is.
Visually, unless we're in the tens of lbs you cant make a good judgment by pictures. You just cant.
So keep playing the stupid "guess the weight" game, because its just that. Stupid.
Any of you can fluctuate up to 7lb a day. Can you tell the difference by looking in the mirror or taking a picture? No you cant.
I just don,t want to see a fast fight...i want cotto to come in healthy and for him to have to lose say 8 to 10 lbs. In 10 days is pushing it... All the pac fans will say i told you so and all the cotto fans will say cotto wasn,t at his best...
Well lets say he,s at 155, then he would have to lose 1 lb. A day...do anyone think that,s kinda pushing it???
Does he not drain water out of himself before the weigh in? I remember them saying Hatton used a method of draining himself through his colon before fights...
i guess its 152.
tbh i really would like cotto to come in at 146-147. since roach said they allow him to fight at that weight. more moolah for pac and we can see the WW capability of pac.
Ok, it seems like there is a misunderstanding of cutting weight. As someone who used to wrestle, I know how it works.
A fighter shouldn't be anywhere near the restricted weight until the final moments of the weigh in. About 24 hours before that moment, the fighter should be around 5-10 pounds greater than what they need to weigh in. To lose those last few pounds, said person will start cutting. This means dehydration (by not drinking or sweating) and selective nutrition. This ensures that come weigh in, the fighter makes weight at their biggest possible size. During weigh ins, the fighter is nowhere near their regular weight, but drained for maximum size come fight night.
An expereinced cutter knows how much they can cut, so they'd maintain a certain weight until it comes time to cut. If people's claim of Cotto comming in fight night at 152-155 is true, that is how much he needs to weigh right now until the 24 hours before (or however long it takes Cotto to cut) of wiegh ins. If he's 155, it doesn't mean he needs to lose 1lb per day, otherwise when it is time to cut, he'd be WAY under 145, and rehydrate back up to 145.
he should be at 151-152 at this point. should come to the weigh in at 147 and then add at least 10 extra pounds before fight night. can't honestly wait for this fight.
I say 150 :boxing:
i dont know about the 7-8lb extreme that the other guy is talkin about but usually to shed the last couple of pounds it would go something along the lines of not eating or drinking anything....or drink very little water, run a couple of extra miles and/or spend an hour or so in the sauna to sweat off the last couple of lbs the day before the weighin.
yeah i can understand a pound or 2 but 8 pounds seems like its a little more difficult
how do fighters weight drain like that the day before the weigh-in, just curious?

Actually was being said is that he's very slim compared to previous times and that there was a chance he might be under the limit weight of 145 by the time of the weigh-in.
Cotto is just fine. If I had to guess he's around 155 right now. All he has to do is lose 2 lbs between now and the fight. Then on the day before/of the weigh-in weight drain. Cotto is 28 years old. He can weight drain 8 lbs like nothing. This will not have an effect on his performance whatsoever.

152-155 is too much by now. He'll have to starve himself to make 145 by next Saturday, doesn't look good for Cotto if this is true. You guys don't know how hard it is to lose 1 pound for a boxing match, when you're already in shape. It's not as easy as "1 pound a day" lol.
No it's not...
It's all dependent on the particular person and the process he's gone through to lose the weight from the start. If Cotto was just now starting to try to lose weight, that would be different. But he's visibly cut weight since he started training and Cotto's never come in heavier than 146 in his last 4 fights.

yes, let cotto come in at 147. even in a pac lost, what will that say to cotto? unprofessional and cotto will not gain credit. if pac wins, its a great win and what's more, cotto also lose the $2mil. great scenario, isn't it?
completely agree. cotto and his team are smart, they know what to do.
he'll come in at the agreed limit of 147 pounds.
How come they weren't smart enough to check Margarito's wraps?
