If Margarito hadn't beat Cotto...

I think so. Pac's momentum has more to do with his KO wins over Hatton and DLH than Cotto's loss to Margarito. While he has shined in those outings Cotto is coming off a tough win over Clottey, which some people dispute. That fight would still have blunted Cotto's momentum had he beaten Margarito, and the Pac hype would still be full force.

If Margarito din't cheat Cotto would have gotten the De La Hoya fight insted of Pacquiao and probably the Hatton fight also. Pacquiao would still be at 135 fighting bums like Diaz. I agree with this!!!!

if margo didn't beat cotto, cotto would've retired dlh, not pac. then pac would never have jump to 147 in the first place.

Would people be giving Pacquiao a chance in this fight?? Freddie Roach keeps saying that size wont be a factor in this fight but Pacquiao is now facing a guy who has fought and beat Shane Mosley, who is obviously alot bigger than Pacquiao. I think whether or not Cotto can win this fight depends on how much he has left after that devastating loss to Margarito. If he's still the fighter who beat Mosley then I think he's gonna give Pac hell and could very well come out with the win. Cotto was well and truly found out against Margarito, regardless of the gloves! He struggled against Ricardo Torres, and did well to beat Paulie M. Mosley doesnt have half the speed of the Pacman! No, probably not but it's hard to say, I mean would Cotto have looked the way he looked against Clottey if he had beaten Margarito? Would he have even fought Clottey had he beaten Margarito? Maybe he would've been the one who fought Mosley and he might have been the one who lost to Mosley, or he would've rematched Margarito and might have won or lost. The fight with Pacquiao might not be happening at all if he had beaten Margarito so it's impossible to say.

Yeah, because Cotto would've taken an extra 2 rounds of punishment had he somehow managed to survive the latter stages of the fight.
