Considering his "loss" to Froch, I believe JT has more at stake than anybody in this tournament. If he loses, I'm afraid we may have seen the last of him at the top. Anybody think he could come back from a defeat by Abraham?
Jermain has the power and skill to put anyone in this tourney on the canvas...the question will be if he has finally figured out how to finish a fighter off, or at least finish the fight without gassing. I was extremely disappointed with his loss to Froch, but it seems like he has learned things from his previous losses. I wouldn't be shocked if he ended up winning the tournament all together.
He has the rest of the round robin to make up for it, so not quite. He should beat Abraham though, if I was Taylor I would be disappointed in a loss.
Who won't be disappointed if he loses? To be fair to AA, he is a hell of a puncher. As his opponent you better stay concentrated for every single second of all 12 rounds or you may get KTFO. Taylor's skills are a league above those of AA, but when it comes to punching power I don't see anyone in the tournament who could take one of his bombs flush without getting dropped.
How many languages do you speak? I'm speaking German as my native language, English, French, Spanish, Greek and Latin.
It's ok to make mistakes...
B2T: I think JT will win against AA, but AA is my fav to win the tournament. Will JT be shot if he doesn't win against AA? I don't think so, because he still is an excellent fighter with great boxing skills. He's very fast and he punches hard. His only problems are his lack of self-confidence and his physical condition / endurance.
I speak your native tongue as well.....Wie Gehts Dir?.....Alles Fit?!?......AA ist sehr starke aber Taylor ist die besser BOXER.....Ich glaube nicht das Taylor ist shot......seine kondition ist scheisse......ich denke wenn ihr das verbessern kann......AA hast keine chance!!!
I dont make fun over posters spelling eras.....I make a few myself as you can see:lol1:.....but the dude was being a asshole!!
In a word the answer would be a yes from me !!!!!
But i like Jermaine in this fight , Arthur is slow and his defence is not great , i think this could have FOTY written on it .
Still worry about Taylor's heart/balls !!!!!!!
Wrong. His hands are pretty fast, and his classic high guard is one of the tightest in boxing. Please know what you're talking about or don't post.

If taylor loses i think he will quit the tournament, he is to weak mentally because he is american so he will probably retire afterwards.
:nono:
Because he's American?

Taylor arguably shouldnt have ever been at the top. His 2 fights with Hopkins and his fight with Winky were all pretty controversial.

He has work lined up for the next year or two with this tournament, so I think as long as the fight was competitive he'll be alright.
You know I'm pretty emotional about this because there hasn't been a whole lot of great athletes from Arkansas. Scottie Pippen, Corliss Williamson, Darren McFadden, Matt Jones, Jermain Taylor.
Taylor was the undefeated, undisputed MW champion of the world. As I drove down I-40 I remember seeing huge billboards with his face on it. He met Bill Clinton and he was honored. Jermain is a humble guy and I just got this gut feeling that his career will be tarnished if he loses again soon. It's the sport, I know. There's always somebody out there tougher, or somebody who just has your number.
I'm a Floyd fan, but to be honest, Jermain Taylor burnt down bridges for the citizens of Arkansas. He gave every kid in the ghetto in Little Rock a role model to look to. A reason to believe and realize that you don't have to sell rocks to make a living. Little Rock might not sound like much but it's a ROUGH PLACE. I know at one time it was in the top 5 crime ratio per capita in the nation. I'm not going to cry like Mike did or anything, but I wanted to share with some of the people who may not be familiar with his situation. He wasn't born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Just a regular kid living paycheck to paycheck. To see how he's risen astonishes us. Anyway, I'll quit babbling. I just felt like I had to share this and I hope I don't get a lot of criticism for this post. Thanks guys for having a place where I can come to talk boxing.
