You keep coming with that same "rock um,sock um " strategy and get humiliated on the national stage time after time after time.
You keep complaining about other fighters.............running while your fighters keep getting embarrassed.
One of these days you will RESPECT the......."Sweet Science"!
Most of the time, but in his last few fights especially he gets carried away, tries to stay in and land four or five punch combos instead of two or three, leaves himself exposed, neglects to move his head or keep his hands in tight, stays in close and fires back when an opponent rushes instead of pivoting out and moving....things he used to do or can do, but just doesnt
Look at who he fought though. Easier said than done. He fought Casamayor a slick , fast fighter. Diaz, an in your face aggressive fighter and Mayweather, the best pound4pound fighter in the world.
One of the biggest misconceptions in boxing is that Mexicans are nothing but brawlers. If you believe this you are a fukin IDIOT. plain and simple.
JCC was a master technician as well as Finito Lopez, Salvador Sanchez etc.
You use what you got. Let's say what it really is, Mexicans aren't known for their speed that's what it is.
JMM is a master boxer but he couldn't match Mayweather's speed. There's nothing wrong with being tough and never giving in.
Al you maricones running your mouth about being tough is stupid and shit like that should at least have the decency of putting on a pair of gloves and seeing how easy it is to even spar. It takes a tough mother fuker to get hit and not quit.
Arreola can't match Klitchkos boxing, length and size but he was there until the end and could have finished the fight. THey should have let him do that I thought.
Blame JCC
The guy was a genius using that method... but now you're "gay" if you don't fight that way even if you get KTFO or humiliated .
pfff....as long as you win and say its for mexico, the cunts just would eat it up and praise you(its only if you really want to be famous that you cant be very defensive.....but no boxer is super famous down here anyway)
It absolutely is.
And even if the first post by the TS could be considered racist, I kinda have to agree with him. It seems that Mexican boxing prides itself on having the fighters who are able to withstand the most punishment, and that alone is worthy of praise. I disagree completely with this, not only because it is detrimental to their health, but because it shows a lack of respect for the complex schemes of boxing. The sweet science is an intricate sport with multiple strategies, most of which seemed to be ignored by the Mexicans, and actually ATTACKED by them when they see fighters who apply them succesfully.
That whole "take 3 to land 1" mentality, and their frequent use of words like "cojones", "huevos", and "coward" shows that these guys have a truly messed up vision of what constitutes manliness. People are even criticizing Vitali for running! Didn't he just score a KO and made Arreola cry? Oh, but since he didn't brawl, he's a coward? Since when does a lack of intelligence translate to bravery?
I totally agree with you bro!
this is a man's sport and the Mexicans fight with a macho mentality!!....I like it.......it'll be boring if everybody was slick or technichal!! :boxing:
what about finito lopez, marquez is pretty skilled too. but your right that rock em sock em mentaility only gets you so far. Trust me though mexicans will adapt and we will continue to have annoying mexican fans like me bolstering about their countryman. There will also always be european champions, african-american champions, african champions, fillipino, puerto rican etc champions dude. boxing is universal and not every mexican will only fight one way.
lol agree........jcc moreales and barrera are atgs i think everyone coming up emulate their heart but not there skills...
Exactly. And those guys, especially Morales and Barrera, had GREAT fundamentals. They knew the sweet science well. Morales is one of my all-time favorite fighters, but it always bothered me how he got dragged into brawls when he could've dominated if he just boxed from the outside. That stupid macho thing severely shortened his career and hindered his success.
If Chris didn't bring the fight to Vitali I'm not sure there even would have been a fight for us to talk about.
More like if Chris didn't bring his FACE to Vitali's punches...
Chris did nothing. He wasn't throwing ANY punches. Vitali was landing about the same number of punches Chris was THROWING.
I hate when ignorant fighters like you think that going forward means being aggressive. Just because your heroes can't fight going backwards, that doesn't mean it's not an effective style. Look at Floyd Mayweather, Paulie Malignaggi, Pernell Whitaker, even Oscar against Tito. These guys outland their opponents while going backwards. The Klitschko's even knock them out while retreading, so please stop with this "the guy coming forward is the one bringing the fight". All they're doing is TRYING to find a spot to land their shots, but they don't even throw anything because the slicker, smarter boxer takes away their strenghts.
If Chris didn't bring the fight to Vitali I'm not sure there even would have been a fight for us to talk about.
Vitali did move forward the few times that Chris moved backwards. It wasn't often but trust me Vitali was more then willing to come forward.
Huh? I hope this is not an insinuation that Vitali doesn't fight cus he has the highest KO percentage in history.
Having the highest KO percentage doesn't mean you fight. You can get 1 punch KOs
Blame JCC

Unfortunately I agree with you!And the worst part is they think it's cool!Being a human punching bag is not cool!I for one am one of the few Mexicans that respects and enjoys the sweet science.

you must not watch anything under 122 lbs....
Uh...as Larry Merchant said, Arreola's style is what got him where he is. He should not change it now. A little more experience and a little firmer tone will make him a great champion one day. Vitali had it right. Arreola will be a champion one day.
