I would have to say Mosley beats Floyd at 135. His speed, power and combination punching at those weights was amazing to watch. Floyd has great defense but he was getting caught by a lot slower guys at that weight and Mosley was just a beast at that weight. His hands speed was faster than Floyds and he packed alot more power in his punches and was very accurate as well. Mosley via Decision or Ko within 9 rounds.
PS I don't know about now, but Mosley still has alot left and would give a great fight even at his age.
Well, the Tito fight was different. That was one of the best boxing performances of this decade, imo. I don't think bigger/stronger really came into play. Maybe "longer" if you consider the right jab.
WW knew that Tito could probably put him to sleep. Or that was Felo's only shot of winning. And WW used some of the best distance control that I've ever seen. He was always in range to land a stiff jab (stiffer than he used before. by Round 10, it was hurting Tito). And WW was simultaneously always out of range for any Trinidad punches.
Brilliant performance.
i love that fight, i go back and watch it time and time again when nothing better to do...
tito reminded me of a cat pawing at a turtle and getting frustrated because he can't seem to figure the damn thing out... and as for Winky's jab, absolutely correct, he used it very well, and with a good bit of power for a jab... it almost reminds me of the way Wlad uses his jab.
I just dont think if Winky was the same size or smaller than tito, that he could have pulled it off as well or at least in such a dominating fashion...
plus winky looked and played a much bigger man than shane... as he did against Tito. Wright was clearly the stronger guy in the wring and he knew shane couldnt hurt him, and that played a huge factor....
Actually he knew Shane could hurt him after he dropped his hands and got rocked pretty bad. Its Winkys good High guard defense that helped him alot to go along with his long jabs and straights.
I agree. When I say discouraged, I mean he mechanically couldn't figure Winky out. Too much height n reach, similar to Vernon. And an even tighter defense. And on top of that, a guy who came forward and pressed him the whole way. SSM couldn't find anything to take confidence in and was reduced to goin thru the motions. Cotto was the one who moved him, more so wit physical strength as opposed to hurtin him wit punchin power which he never did. Vernon did both.

Winky didn't lay any lumber on Shane (or anybody, for that matter).
Winky used his length and jab to control Shane. And SM could not adjust to the lefty stance.
I would disagree that SM was discouraged by any incoming from WW. SM just mechanically couldnt figure it out.

All the "names" on this board are very junior high school. Margacheato, mr boat buyer, gayweather. I've even seen bumweather.
Creative, huh?
about as creative as the username Al Haymon
He clinched alot more in the rematch, that was his way of not letting Forrest get off. Plan didn't work because Shane had a hard time landing. On the real, that was a boring as fight. Shane faught scared, he feared Forrest's right hand.
Its been ages since i saw it but i seem to remember Shane doing well early by making Forrest lead to him but midway through Forrest adapted and made Mosley come to him.
I cant remember its been ages since i saw it.
man, if shane would have had Nasim as his coach in his earlier days and even at 135 he could have done BIG things....
if that were the case, i would have taken him back then...
Your reference to Zab seemed to be a suggestion that despite havin those same attributes, he'd fall apart and get beaten down like Zab did. Anyways, I ain't bother to mention ring intelligence and defense cuz I ain't feel in this matchup those attributes would be the decidin factor. Power and speed, both hand and foot would be.
SSM don't got legs now, and he ain't as fast at WW as he was at LW. That's why I'd pick him to lse if they fought now. At 135, prime for prime, SSM takes him. He'd bring the fight to Mr boat buyer and attack his body, not headhunt like a lotta other guys do tryin to force a KO. Mr boat buyer could swat at LW, but not hard enuf to keep SSM off him. He was much more offensively oriented then, but he couldn't beat SSM head on. And wit his counter attack, I think he'd score points. But he wouldn't have enuf pop to keep SSM off him, and not enuf speed to elude him all nite either. Call it close, 7-5 4 sho, but SSM woulda beaten him imo. Nothin Mr boat buyer could do to move or discourage SSM, which is how his 5 losses were fashioned.
that mr boat buyer shit is annoying as hell homey
I did not compare Zab to Shane. I compared Zab to Floyd in their bout. I was illustrating how your criteria fell far short of the end-all-be-all. Power and speed are not the sole criteria. And I used Zab as an example of that.
Seriously, homey.
IMO, a guy wih higher-order ring intelligence who can adjust has an advantage in every fight.
When Floyd makes adjustments, and Jack Mosley starts saying. "Shane, don't worry. Just powerbox", what then? Homey?

You are right but i will give him a little credit for the second Forrest fight because i thought he did change up a little bit, even though he still lost that fight was closer.

ya know.... we would have an answer to this or something close, if Shane wouldnt have blown him off like he did...
im not a big FM fan, but he has a legit reason for denying Shane a fight...
Good point but as for the bold, I see no need to ask such a question. Mayweather had good power at 135. Problem here is Mosely's inability to adapt. Not only does he have 0 adaptability, he doesn't change even in the rematch!

Dangerous fight for both fighters, I actually can't choose a winner.
Floyd has better defense but Shane has much more power.
Both similar in speed.
To be honest, Shane had faster hand speed.
Zab has more power and equal speed.
There is also the matter of ring intelligence. And defense.
:lol1: Da fukk Zab gotta do wit it? He's inconsistent as hell. Don't compare him to SSM. Seriously homey. :smashfrea
