Pacquiao is the most athletic fighter since Roy Jones in his prime. Ive thought this for while but never had the balls to say it, but fcuk it thats what i think. Cant think of anyone with the raw power and speed of hand & foot since Roy Jones.
Im not one to overate a fighter and im not trying to make him out to be unbeatable or anything, just that his pure athleticism is what makes him the fighter he is imo. I mean how can you make the mistakes this guy makes and not pay for it yet beat some of the best fighters around his weight.
I think he is being overhyped and he probably will get beat by a technically superior fight but one thing he deserves a big up for is that athleticism.
Think about how he had David Diaz falling face first to the canvas because his body went so limp he could not even put his hands out to stop himself, what about his demolition of Hatton ?
His feet are so fast to, thats what goes unnoticed a lot of the time.

The day manny can play a semi pro basketball game or any other semi pro sport then go dominate every round of a championship fight, then you can compare him to roy jones jr. Until then get your head out your ass u moron, case closed!!!
Pac is athletic coz of his raw speed and power but he is getting hit much. Overall Floyd has better athleticism coz of his reflexes, decent power and hand speed.
are you fukkin kidding me...Pac's power is not even on the same planet as Zab...you are nut hugging pac way too much.
he isnt that strong, if so he would have KO'ed JMM and left him down. but he couldnt.
pac is overrated
floyd power>>>pacs power.
i hope pac beats cotto b.c floyd is going to beat Pac senseless
Yeah. that overrated knocked his opponents than Floyd did.
Pacquiao is not more athletic he can even fight backing up so how do you figure he is
What does fighting backwards have to do with being athletic? lol!
you wanna see him fight a black fighter you mean... laffs
Casamayor, Robert Guerrero, Kermit Cintron, Antonio Margarito, Miguel Cotto are all non-african american fighters who would have a chance to do this against Pac. You idiot.
Roy Jones was on another level.
Floyd, Judah, Mosely, Ward, Dirrell are all more athletetic than Pacquiao.
Pacquiao is not that athletic to me. He can't even fight going backwards, just plants his back foot and throws flurries.
Clottey, Castillo, Zab Judah. Mayweather was offensive in those fights throwing combos and still he was able to be evasive.
Handspeed could be down to preference. Mayweather goes with accuracy, Pacquiao goes for flurries. In terms fo footspeed I'd rank Floyd above Many above Pacquiao in that department.
Seriously, if you like a fighter don't overrate them because to me it shows that you are not happy with who they are. Roy Jones was the complete package, Pacquiao is not.
Period. :notworthy

Pac is not "athletic" in the true sense....(Roy's career is based of his quick reflexes and reactions = athleticism). Pac actually isn't very athletic...but his ability to throw from very unorthodox angles coupled with his freakish stamina is what makes him so "dominant".
Alot of people don't know that "back in the day"...Pac actually was very into kickboxing....and that would explain his horse legs and excellent balance....you would think that the way he throws punches (punches thru an opponent as Manny Steward put it) he should be able to be KD alot more than usual....but his recovery rate is so good....than someone as technical as Marquez couldn't even get a "flash KD" on him. Respect.....
He does look extremely uncomfortable when he is made to do something he does not want to do, i think we saw a little bit of that when Hatton chased him and he looked awkward trying to back up when he did not want to.
Someone else pointed this out on here or on another Site and sure enough if you watch Pacquaio vs Hatton you can see a perfect example of it.
and Floyd looked comfortable? Pacquiao looked pretty good when he had a bull rushing him, Mayweather was running all over the ring and almost fell.
Shane Mosely is the closest to Roy in terms of pure atheleticism in the past 20yrs. Shane is 38 and still has some of the fastest hands in the game. /thread
I mean, when you're a risk taker like PAC, the percentage of getting caught goes way up compared to potshotters like Floyd, RJJ, etc.. Imagine if Floyd became more offensive and actually threw combinations in some of those fights, hmm
Clottey, Castillo, Zab Judah. Mayweather was offensive in those fights throwing combos and still he was able to be evasive.
Im not conveniently forget things such as reflexes and flexibility. Ive already said Floyd Mayweather's reflexes are supreme, but does Floyd Mayweather have quicker hands and feet ? i say no, does he hit as hard ? i say no.
Handspeed could be down to preference. Mayweather goes with accuracy, Pacquiao goes for flurries. In terms fo footspeed I'd rank Floyd above Many above Pacquiao in that department.

Here's my question though, Where's your proof that Judah is the harder puncher.
I have no definitive proof, but I that's why I said "probably"
What fight(s) of Judah suggests that he is a more powerful puncher than PAC?
well, Judah KOs real WWs. pac imho is still unproven at WW.
You will have to dig out his one punch finishes of World class opposition then because i aint seen them.
me either
Nice post/read.
I pretty much agree. Its Pacquiao's foot speed that i found so remarkable, you would think its easy to corner a guy like Pacquiao because his footwork when pressured leaves a lot to be desired but his hands are so quick he can hit you 3 times (with power) before you reach him and his feet are quick enough to keep him off the ropes and get him back to the centre of the ring.
Another reason i compared him to Jones is because no one hits with the same speed combined with power since Roy Jones. Shane Mosley is the only comparison imo, because he has knocked a few people silly with speed and power. Lots of fighters throw fast but with an open glove so they look faster because they are not punching with authority. Pacquiao punches hard and fast, Khan punches might look faster to some but that is because he has took the steam of his shots since joining up with Roach.
Lampley said it best "Manny Pacquiao is a storm" and that is what he is, his hand speed combined with punching power and tremendous footspeed.
Mike Tyson like Manny had extremely underrated foot speed that no one seems to mention, they focus more on his hand speed.
There is no comparison bro. Roy Jones brought freakish speed and athleticism to normal sized humans, it's not the same talking about the speed of a little mini man like Pac. Roy was actually the size of a normal human being, don't forget that.
Here's my question though, Where's your proof that Judah is the harder puncher. What fight(s) of Judah suggests that he is a more powerful puncher than PAC?
That is what im saying bro. Pacquaio has knocked down, beaten up, destroyed top elite fighters. Judah cant even decision one let alone knock one out.
Lets say Judah does breakdown in the ring mentality, which he does, wouldn't his KO percentage be higher being that you would think he would be gunning for the knockout early more so than Pac because he is thinking he might breakdown later etc ?
honestly... judah probably punches harder than pac. what judah lacks that pac has is discipline and heart.
You will have to dig out his one punch finishes of World class opposition then because i aint seen them.
