Paul Williams over-rated?

I have watched 3 or 4 of Paul Williams fights. And please, don't hate on me. I am not trying to start conflict in any way. I know there are some Paul Williams fans here, and I am not saying he is over-rated, but I am curious to why people think he is so good? The last fight I watched with Paul Williams didn't exactly impress me. So what? He beat up a washed up Ronald Wright. I found winky's conditioning to be absolutely horrible, in which he became gassed much to early in the fight. Aside from Paul Williams impressive reach and height, explain to me why he is called "the most avoided fighter in the world"?

He didnt tower over Margs so you dont know what you are talking about buddy. There wasn't a big difference in height, but Pauls reach on the other hand, probably a 10 inch inch reach advantage.

Of course he's over rated. He will beat Pavlik though, no probs. That will be his definitive win..He really doesnt have one..Yeah he beat Margo..but that doesnt make you an atg. If he beats Pav, that saying something....

the paul william fans must be sleeping, because I read a lot of threads, and it seems like there are a lot of paul fans at boxingscene. they treat him like god.

he's a decent fighter but nothing special. he was beat soundly by another decent, average fighter(carlos quintana). he'll be decent at best.

Yeah I seen some clips from the fight not to long ago. Paul defiantly beat the hell outta winky. But their were a couple times where it looked like winky hit him pretty hard. Pauls reach, stamina and height were just to much. Ontop of that, Winky helped paul with poor conditioning.

See I completely disagree. I think Winky looked horrible. But that's my opinion. But I will agree with Paul being unproven. Well... I may be biased, because I expected him to look like a bum off the street, and when he rose above my expectations, I may have gotten over zealous haha... I'd have to go back and watch the fight.

not overrated just unproven. he throws alot of punches but he hasnt really impressed me yet. his fans think he god though I agree with P Will being unproven. I think Winky looked as good as he could have at this point of his career and Paul beat him pretty soundly, but Paul still has yet to step up and take on an elite. Or, better yet, an elite has yet to offer Paul a fight for reasonable money. Sooner or later its got to happen I guess.

I hate Paul Williams... with that being said, I don't think he's the least bit over-rated... hell of a fighter. Not invincible though, anyone with a loss has been proven to be beatable.

Wrong. People on this site love P-Will because they want him to take over as p4p#1 once Floyd's done fighting. most P-Will fans are Floyd fans. You're probably right. I know a lot of the fans on this site love these guys such as Cotto, Pac, and Margarito(Pre-Shane Mosley) just because they could take down Floyd, so they hope.

Interesting, because I believe kelly will beat him, but we will see. Hopefully Bhop didn't scare pavlik to much. Hopkins ruined him. He'll be like Jeff 'lol' Lacy after the Calzaghe fight.

He's unproven. We've seen him look great and horrible and against lackluster opposition. Once he gets in the ring with someone we'll see if he's the real deal. People on this site love him because he's someone that can potentially dethrone Floyd.
